Man arrested for attempted 2nd degree murder
An early Wednesday morning domestic dispute left one person in serious condition at a local hospital. Crowley Police responded to a domestic disturbance at 5:37 am, yesterday morning. Officers discovered that a female resident had received multiple lacerations at the hands of her boyfriend. The incident occurred in the 1800 block of Harry Fusilier Drive.
The victim was transported to the American Legion Hospital with three laceration wounds to her neck, chest and arm areas. The victim is listed in serious, but stable condition.
The investigation revealed that the victim and the suspect in this case identified as Christopher Robertson, 32 of Crowley, were arguing earlier in the evening. The suspect returned to the residence near 5:37 am, where he cut the victim multiple times. The suspect fled the scene and was later apprehended in Abbeville.
It was determined that the suspect stole a vehicle in Rayne and utilized it during the commission of the crime in Crowley and then used it to return to Abbeville. Abbeville Police arrested Robertson without incident. Robertson has been charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder by Crowley Police and Theft of a Vehicle by Rayne Police. Bond on the Attempted Second Degree Murder charge has been set at $100,000 by District Judge Glenn Everett.
