Man killed in one car accident on Faulk Road

A Crowley man was killed in a one-vehicle accident early Saturday afternoon as his car went off the road and into a gully near a bridge Faulk Rd, just east of Hwy. 13 south of Crowley.

The victim was identified as Scott D. Petry, 53, of Crowley. Petry was apparently heading home in his maroon Ford Lumina when he apparently veered off of the right side of the road approximately 150 yards before going into the gully.

Two fishermen who were near the scene claim to have heard a large splash at approximately 1 p.m.

Authorities arrived at the scene shortly afterward, and the car was towed out of the water with Petry still inside.

Petry was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office said the crash was still under investigation.

Officials with the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, Acadian Ambulance, the Crowley Fire Department and the Acadia Parsh Coroner’s office assisted at the scene.
