Maples, Estherwood OK center

ESTHERWOOD – At a regularly held meeting of the Estherwood Town Council, Mayor Bill Maples and the Board of Aldermen voiced strong support for the proposed cooperative endeavor between the Acadia Parish Police Jury and American Legion Hospital to provide a trauma center for the people of Acadia Parish.

The proposed trauma center would be housed in a hurricane proof building, newly constructed adjacent to American Legion Hospital. This trauma center would provide emergency medical care 24 hours a day, even during the most violent storms.

The resolution as adopted states: “Be it further resolved that Mayor Bill Maples along with the Board of Aldermen of the Village of Estherwood do hereby give their full support to this cooperative endeavor.”
