JENNINGS: Funeral services for Margaret Elaine Doiron Van Neste LeBleu, 83, were held on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church in Jennings, La. with Father Charles McMillin officiating her services.

She was called to heaven Thursday, November 13th, 2008 from the Jennings American Legion Hospital.

Mrs. LeBleu was born in Thornwell, La. to Jedeon Leonce and Julia Speeg Doiron. She will be laid to rest in the Greenwood Cemetery following her services.

Following graduation from Lake Arthur High School in 1941, as Valedictorian at age 16, Margaret attended SLI in Lafayette, La. There she met and married Gordon Van Neste. During World War II, she lived with Gordon’s parents in DeRidder, La. and worked at Camp Polk while Gordon served in Europe. After Gordon’s death in 1947, she and their infant son returned to her home in Thornwell.

In 1952, they moved to Jennings, where she worked until she married Jack LeBleu in 1965. In this marriage, she inherited twin daughters. During the next years, Margaret was a charter member of the “Pink Ladies” at the hospital and she and Jack spent time traveling. After Jack’s death in 1995, Margaret continued to enjoy a wide circle of friends, family, church, and community. She distinguished herself by attending 51 consecutive family reunions held annually at Chicot State Park. Her wit and wisdom will be greatly missed.

Survivors include her son, Glenn Charles Van Neste and wife Rita of Marquette, Michigan; two daughters, Sharon LeBleu Monlezun and husband, Dr. Charles of Lake Charles, La. and Sheila LeBleu Allen and husband Tommy of Meeker, Colorado; one brother, Alvin Doiron and wife Pearl of Sulphur, La.; one sister, Ida Mae Doiron Watkins of Welsh, La.; a sister-in-law, Bernice Doiron Arceneaux also of Welsh, La.; six grandchildren, Jeff and Amy Hodgins, Julia and Kurt Allen, Cherie Monlezun, and Travis Van Neste; and four great grandchildren, Breanna and Bobby Hodgins, Colin Van Neste, and Sage Allen.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Gordon C. Van Neste; second husband, Alvin H. “Jack” LeBleu; and six brothers and three sisters.
