Marjorie "Margie" was born April 3, 1922 in Rayne, Louisiana. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Rayne High School. She attended SLI in Lafayette, LA for three years where she was an Art and Music major. There she played slide trombone in the marching band. She also played piano with the concert band.

She transferred to a business school in Tyler, Texas. While there, she met her future husband.

She was a military wife for twenty years. During that time they lived in many places including Japan and Washington, DC. Together, they had five children.

Margie returned to Rayne, her hometown, with her five children the summer of 1963. Over the last fifty years, Margie became the Matriarch of her large family. The beloved Matriarch was called "Mom", "MawMaw", and, with due respect, "Queen Mother" or "Queenie".

While raising her children, Margie worked for the Acadia Parish School Board. She worked with her dear friend, Peter Comeaux, helping special needs children, until she retired.

Margie loved many things, especially her plants, pets, craft shows, artwork and music. Above all, Margie loved her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her world. And they, in turn, loved and cherished her.
