Mayor Petitjean featured in The Acadian magazine

Leaps to Success

Rayne Mayor Jim Petitjean is featured on the cover of the November issue of The Acadian and in an extensive story entitled “Leap to Success”.

The article, written by Natasha Dupuy, traces “Jimbo” Petitjean from his earliest years to the successes he has achieved in 16 years as mayor of the “Frog Capital of the World”.

The article contains a wealth of family pictures that trace his life from its earliest days, his marriage and family and his political life.

In an email, Mayor Petitjean distributed to his many friends, he wrote, “I was honored to do this story,” adding a comment at his own expense, “When they do this, you know that you have probably been around too long.”

The article concludes with Petitjean explaining he keeps things in perspective by putting his family first. He adds, “I don’t judge people. Who knows what cross they may be bearing? I just accept people the way they are. It’s something I learned growing up in Rayne where we were taught to do the right things for the right reasons.”
