McDade released on $40,000 bond
Shaqueta McDade, who was charged with four counts of second-degree murder in the death of her four children, was released on Monday after posting a $40,000 bond
District Judge Edward Rubin reduced McDade’s bail, originally set at $1 million, to $40,000 during the bond reduction hearing on May 9.
An Acadia Parish Grand Jury indicted McDade, 26, on May 1.
McDade’s four children, Jamari McDade, 8, Amous Mouton Jr., 7, Lashay McDade, 5, and Brian Stiener, 2, died of smoke inhalation in fire that destroyed their mobile home on April 21.
Funeral services were held May 5 for the four victims.
Her oldest son, Tryrin K. McDade, was staying with relatives and escaped the fate of his siblings.
