Upon retiring, he left his dedicated son in charge of carrying on the Faul tradition of farming. He was a gentle and giving soul who served as a rock to his family. At the time of retirement, he had a few head of cattle which he truly enjoyed. Sunday lunches were a family tradition for gathering and visiting with family and friends.
