Michael Garland Breaux
CROWLEY - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, September 9 2010 at Immaculate Heart of Mary for Michael Garland Breaux, 56, who died September 7, 2010 at his residence in Crowley after a long battle with cancer.
Fr. Matthew Higgenbotham will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Wednesday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. Interment will be in Maxie Cemetery.
Mike was born July 31, 1954 in Crowley; He was a lifelong member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He graduated from Crowley High School in 1972. He was an avid Fisherman, Golfer and Hunter and enjoyed spending his time with his family and grandchildren. He worked for the Crowley Police Department for 22 years until his retirement in 2008.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Sandra Viator Breaux of Crowley; two daughters, Amanda and Sarah Breaux, both of Crowley; his parents, Garland and Stella Breaux of Estherwood; six grandchildren, Brittany Wilmore, Caitlin Venable, Ethan Breaux, Makena Breaux, Cody M. Venable, and Reese Simon; three brothers, Thomas Breaux and his wife Kathy of Laporte, Texas, Jeffery Breaux of Estherwood, and Roderick Breaux and his wife Peggy of Iota; three sisters, Janet Hebert and her husband Terry of Evangeline, Jennifer Breaux of Crowley, and Jill Breaux of Crowley; his godmother Dorothy Ann McCarver of Dayton, Texas.
Mr. Breaux is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Voorhies and Lovinia Breaux, maternal grandparents, Oneil LeBouef and Louisa Coleman, and his godfather, Maurice Breaux.
Pallbearers will be Roderick Breaux, Terry Hebert, Ronnie Henderson, Charles Stewart, Boo Touchet and Scott Stemm; Honorary Pallbearers Thomas Breaux, and Jeffery Breaux.
