Milton and Gary honored at elegant engagement soirée
Allison Elizabeth Milton of Crowley and Blaine Joseph Gary or Mire were honored January 2 at a 7 p.m. cocktail party to celebrate their recent engagement.
The engagement soirée was held in Scott at the beautiful New Orleans style home of Perry Stelly, uncle of the groom. For the elegant social Mr. Stelly’s front yard was decorated with four bistro tables covered with cream taffeta gathered beneath with gold satin ties. Each bistro table was lit by six candles. An 18x20 square canopy was erected in the side yard to create an classic outdoor space.
As guests entered, they quickly noticed four large portraits of the couple hanging on the back wall of the canopy, each having their own spotlight. Food tables, set at the back of the canopy, were decorated with more pictures of the couple, candles, and a three foot cherubic statue that held fuchsia blooming azaleas. Six foot candelabras adorned each side of the food tables. A separate dessert table was set up on the left side of the room.
Over a large round table, which was set up in the center of the outdoor space for guests to enjoy their food and beverages, hung a balloon chandelier.
Winding through Mr. Stelly’s lush green courtyard was a bar area set for guests to enjoy. The couple’s guests also enjoyed socializing in the cozy garden room adjacent to the bar area.
The food, enjoyed by the couple’s 70 guests, was prepared by Chefs Bobby and Dot along with desserts prepared by family and friends.
