Milton and Gary wed at St. Michael’s Catholic Church
CROWLEY - Allison Elizabeth Milton wasmarried Blaine Joseph Gary on June 18, 2010 at 6:30pm at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Crowley. Milton is the daughter of Greg and Charlotte Milton of Crowley. Allison’s grandparents are the late Norris and Dolores Toups and the late Harry and Mary Jane Milton.
Blaine Gary is the son of Blake and Alana Gary of Mire. Blaine’s grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Pierre Gary of Rayne; Marion Stelly of Carencro; and Dorothy Stelly of Scott.
Allison Milton graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2005 and from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2010 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education with an add-on certification in Early Childhood Education. She was also an honorable member of the Gamma Kappa Chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority. She will begin teaching at St. Michael Elementary School next year.
Blaine Gary graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2003. He then became a licensed investigator and the owner of Dat Cajun Boy’s Co. LLC.
The bride was dressed in an ivory perfect v-neck halter gown with crystal embellishments, lace appliques, gold satin ribbon at the empire waist, deep hemlace encircled the cathedral train, the veil was trimmed with crystal embellishments similar to those on the bride’s dress.
The mother of the bride wore a sapphire colored dress featuring a portrait collar and side-ruched top with a jeweled pin and brooch detail on each sleeve. A long flowing skirt completed the elegant look.
The mother of the groom wore a moss colored silk shauntung suit dress which featured a ruched bodice with a curved neckline and bolero jacket with three-quarter length sleeves.
The bridesmaids’ dresses, which were made by Maureen Benoit of Rayne, were coral colored dupioni silk dresses that were knee length with each bridesmaid having a different style top. The bridesmaids’ shoes were rose gold in color.
The little flower girls’ dresses were ivory dupioni silk smocked tops with added pearl accents. The bridesmaid dresses were handmade by the groom’s mother, Alane Gary.
The church windows were hung with cream colored dupioni silk banners monogrammed with the couple’s initial, “G”. The church was beautifully lit for the evening wedding with hurricane lanterns and decorated with pink hypericum berries and greenery. On the altar were large arrangements of green hydrangreas, peach roses, and pink hypericum berries.
The pews were festooned with green spider mum flowers held together by ivory satin ribbons.
The bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets were made of peach roses, green hydrangeas, and pink hypericum berries.
The mothers of the bride and groom carried small bouquets of green hydrangeas, peach roses, and pink hypericum berries. The flower girls also carried small bouquets of green hydrangeas, peach roses, and pink hypericum berries.
The music for the ceremony was provided by Jodi Bollich, vocalist; Alberta Lyons, organist; Jody Kovarik, flutist; Will Green, trumpter; and Tommy Benoit, violinist.
The ceremony was officiated by Fr. Gary Schexnayder. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father Greg Milton. The Eucharistic Ministers were Mark and Pat Jones, family friends of the bride; and Lauren Dore, cousin of the groom. The lectors were Andre Doguet, godfather of the bride; and Glenn Gary, the uncle of the groom.
The bride’s matron of honor was Lynn Abshire, a cousin. Her bridesmaids included: Amy Helo, cousin of the bride; Jamie Gary sister of the groom; Margaret Hundley, Morgan Robinson, Ashley Sarver, Regan Champagne, and Lindsay Broussard who are all friends of the bride.
The groom’s best man was Steven Bruner, a friend of the groom. His groomsmen included: Joshua Gary, Jonathan Besse, Derek Stelly, cousins of the groom; Nicholas Milton, brother of the bride; Eric Broussard, Michael Ronkartz, and Brantley Yeager, friends of the groom.
The wedding ushers were Kyle Suire, Kyle Savoie, Matthew Hornsby, and Nicholas Nero, all are friends of the groom.
Program attendants included Claire C. Hammonds, cousin of the the groom; and Ashlyn Faucheaux.
The reception was held at Le Grand Hall in Crowley. The tables at the reception were draped in linens of ivory. Atop the runners were ornate gold mirrors, candles an floral arrangements of green hydrangeas, peach roses, and hypericum berries.
The bride’s cake was a five-layer confection with ivory scalloped details created by Crystal Weddings. The cake will sat upon a gold plateau and surrounded by candies. The cake was be layered with strawberry Bavarian cream and cream cheese.
The groom’s Bavarian cream layered cake had a mallard duck motif. The table contained items which reflected the groom’s love of the outdoors.
A rehearsal dinner was held on Thursday, Jun 17th at Fezzo’s in Scott and was hosted by the groom’s parents, Mr. & Mrs. Blake Gary. Catering for the wedding was also provided by Fezzo’s.
The couple will honeymoon in St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands and will reside in Crowley.
