Minutes of the Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District No. 4
Minutes of the Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District No. 4 of Tangipahoa Parish, Louisiana, held on Monday, February 23, 2009 at the regular meeting place, City Hall, Amite, Louisiana.
The Board of Commissioners of Gravity Drainage District No. 4 of Tangiphahoa Parish, Louisiana met on the above date in regular session and was called to order by the President, Mr. Salvador Genusa, at 4:30 p.m. o'clock with the following present.
Present: Salvador Genusa, Anthony Lascaro, James C. Ricks, Arthur Leonard, Thomas Stevens
The President then called on Mr. Ricks to voice the invocation.
The roll call showed a quorum to be present. Whereupon a motion was made by Mr. Stevens duly seconded by Mr. Ricks and unanimously carried that the reading of the minutes of the last regular meeting dated, January 26, 2009, be dispensed with and that they be adopted as of record and published in the official journal.
The secretary presented bills in the amount of $6845.43 for canal maintenance, material, supplies, contract labor, printing, etc. Whereupon a motion was made by Mr. Lascaro duly seconded by Mr. Stevens and unanimously carried that the payment of the bills be authorized and approved.
The financial report on the general condition of the district was given and a motion was made by Mr. Leonard duly seconded by Mr. Stevens and unanimously carried that the report of the treasurer be approved and accepted.
Jim and Gwynette Dixon were in attendance at the meeting requesting assistance with drainage flow problems intersecting their property and the property of Eric Pfeffer. This property location is south of Highway 10 in Fluker, Louisiana. On motion by Mr. Lacaro duly seconded by Mr. Ricks and unanimously carried, the secretary was instructed to write a letter to Mr. Gordon Burgess, Parish Council President, requesting assistance with placing riff-raff in the form of broken concrete and heavy clay as soon as possible at this trouble location all the way around the curve that exists here. The drainage board will further investigate what extended action can be taken as this is a natural drain allowing the board to research maintenance thereof. If it is indeed the responsibility of the board's immediate action will be taken in correcting this problem.
No further business appearing, on motion by Mr. Genusa duly seconded by Mr. Lascaro and unanimously carried, the board adjourned.
