Mire and Cavalier celebrate with Nuptial Mass wedding
Simone Beatrice Marie Mire and Francis James Cavalier were united in marriage during a Nuptial Mass on Friday, June 20th, 2008. The 7:00 p.m. ceremony was officiated by Father Kenneth Mayne at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Abbeville.
Simone is the daughter of Roxie Mire and the late James Mire, Sr., of Abbeville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Langles Mire, Sr., of Ragley, LA and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harold Buras.
Francis is the son of Sheila Primeaux of Abbeville and Mark Cavalier Sr., of Meaux. He is the grandson of the late Chester Primeaux and Mrs. Barbara Primeaux of Abbeville and Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Cavalier of Abbeville.
Escorted by her mother, Roxie Mire, the bride’s dress was a strapless, corset style white gown that was embellished with white seed pearls and sequins. The full A-line skirt was made of bridal tulle and was trimmed with a white satin ribbon along the bottom of the dress and featured a cathedral length train.
The bride carried a rounded posy bouquet of deep red roses and white mini calla lilies with lily grass loops and rhinestones. The bouquet was wrapped with white sheer ribbon and rhinestone accents. Tied into the bouquet was her father’s wedding band.
Serving as Maid of Honor was Mandy Meaux, sister of the bride. Her bridesmaids included Brooke Rogers, friend of the bride; Liberty Thibodeaux, friend of the bride; Loni Lemaire, friend of the bride; Ashley Primeaux, cousin of the groom; Kristen Richard, friend of the bride; and Tiffany Saltzman, future sister in law of bride and groom.
The attendants wore strapless matte satin gowns in bronze that were accented with gold colored sashes at the waist. The floor length, full gathered skirts, featured a hi-lo design that showed the gold colored contrast underneath. The junior bridesmaid wore the same dress in gold with bronze accents. They carried bouquets that included yellow skyline roses, red mini cala lilies, lily grass loops and champagne colored ribbon with rhinestone pinning along the stem.
Junior brides maids for the wedding included Gabrielle Buras, cousin of the bride; Krislynn Hastings, cousin of the bride; Junior groomsmen included Taylor Bares, nephew of the groom and Mark Rashall, cousin of the bride. The Flower Girls were Averie Bares, the groom’s niece, and Anystin Gary, the groom’s cousin.
The Best Man for the wedding was Mark Cavalier, brother of the groom. Standing in as groomsmen were Brody Meaux, brother-in-law of the bride ; Chase Peltier, friend of the groom; Bryant Mire, cousin of the bride; Jonathon Bares; brother of the groom; Mitchell Gary, cousin of the groom and John-Paul Bares, brother of the groom. Serving as ushers were Ryan Rogers, a friend of the bride and groom, and Braden Rashall, cousin of the bride.
The mother of the bride wore an off the shoulder mock two piece dress in gold with a pebble skirt. The bodice featured metallic beading in gold, silver and bronze.
The mother of the groom wore a gold toned floor length dress that was trimmed with iridescent beading. The matching jacket also featured iridescent beading on the collar and the back.
As a special remembrance of the bride’s father, Jimmy Mire, his godchild, Gabrielle Buras, read a poem in his honor during the ceremony. The bride’s sister, Carla Frederick, and the bride’s brother, J. J. Mire also lit a candle in his memory.
Music for the ceremony was provided by Davelon Rost. Readings were given by Sharon Robinson, the groom’s aunt; and by Dawn Rashall, the bride’s godmother.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at L’Eglise Hall in Abbeville. After a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica, the couple plan to reside in Abbeville.
