Miss Eunice says Farewell

My name is Kandy K. Andrepont and I am this year’s reigning Miss Eunice. Ever since I was a little girl working the curtains backstage I dreamed of winning the title of Miss Eunice.

On the night of May 11,2007, I was crowned the 2007-2008 Miss Eunice and this was one of my most memorable happenings. Being crowned just as my senior year was ahead of me made my experience even better than I could have ever imagined.

On November 15, another lucky young lady will have the same wonderful and unforgettable opportunity that I had this past year. As once said, “You have never seen Louisiana until you have seen it through a queen’s eyes.” I served my community, my hometown Eunice, as their queen to the best of my ability by attending many fairs, festivals, pageants, parades, grand openings, and ribbon cuttings. I caught the greasy pig at the Swine Festival. I served food at the Eunice Manor Christmas gatherings. Everywhere I traveled I made sure to tell at least one person about Eunice, the Prairie Cajun Capital of the World, and what it has to offer tourists. From Cajun music, to our food, to our hospitality, you are sure to find something that will make you enjoy our city enough to want to come back.

I hope that during this past year of representing Eunice I have encouraged many young ladies to compete for the title of Miss Eunice. When given this honor the selected young lady serves as an ambassador to the people of Eunice. I hope I served as the ambassador that I was expected to be to this city and its people. Every weekend was a different town or festival to travel to, whether it was chasing a greasy pig or climbing a pyramid of wood I did it all and made sure to get a picture.

After proudly representing Eunice for the duration of my reign I would like to invite everyone to come spend the last day of my reign with me as I crown my successor and say my farewells as Miss Eunice. Thank you for this amazing and unforgettable opportunity!

I would also like to extend an invitation to past Miss Eunice queens. I plan to have a special presentation for you at the pageant.

Sincerely, Kandy Andrepont, Miss Eunice 2007
