Monceaux, Sobolic announce engagement

CROWLEY - Jana Lynn Monceaux of Rayne and James Stephen Sobolic of Macomb, Mich., have announced their engagement and commitment to be wed on the afternoon of Saturday, Aug. 10, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley. Father Gary Schexnayder will officiate at the 1 p.m. nuptials.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Natalie and Randy Monceaux of Rayne. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Percy Monceaux of Crowley and Mr. and Mrs. Clement Lejeune Sr. of Oberlin.

Jana graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2003 and attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2008. She is presently employed at Marcellos Wine Market Cafe in Lafayette.

The prospective groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frantisek Sobolic of Macomb. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stefan Sobolic of Slovakia, Europe, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Rosochac of Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

James is a 2000 graduate of Eisenhower High School in Shelby Township, Mich., and a 2006 graduate of Oakland University in Rochester, Mich., where he obtained a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He is presently employed by Continental Motors, Inc., in Mobile, Ala.

The couple plan to reside in Spanish Fort, Ala., following their marriage.
