Monroe tour group visiting Acadia
Thirty visitors from Monroe, stopped at the German Heritage Museum in Roberts Cove on Tuesday, April 5, for a tour of the museum and shopping.
According to Charlotte Jeffers, tourism coordinator for Crowley, the visitors are on a two-day visit to Crowley and Acadia Parish. The tour bus is with A & W Tours of Monroe.
Their visit began Monday with lunch and then a tour of Crowley’s historical district, visits to the historic Ford Building and Rice Theatre, as well as dinner at the Crystal Rice Heritage Farm.
Other stops besides the visit to the German Heritage Museum on Tuesday included the Grand Opera House, the Art Gallery, a cooking demonstration and lunch at the Wells Fargo Deport, and a workshop tour of Mouton’s Accordion and Music. Their final stop was at Kelly’s Landing for supper and a visit to the crawfish ponds and rice fields.
