Moody, Emory united in holy matrimony

Rosalind Meredith Moody and Matthew Sean Emory were united in marriage on Friday, January 23, 2009 at the

Immaculate Conception Jesuit Church in New Orleans, Louisiana. The Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen officiated the Nuptial Mass at half after six o’clock in the evening.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Victoria Harris Moody and Mr. Braxton Isham Moody IV of Lafayette, Louisiana. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Braxton Isham Moody III of Crowley, Louisiana and the late Mrs. Mary Pernici Harris of DeRidder, Louisiana. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Linton Adel Emory of Woodridge, New Jersey. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Emile Maynard of Southbridge, Massachusetts and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Eugene Emory of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless ivory gown by Monique Lhuillier featuring a molded drop waist bodice of re-embroidered Alencon lace which fell into a pleated a-line tulle skirt finished with a vintage velvet ribbon tied at the waist. The cathedral length veil by Lia Mazza was a mantilla style of ivory silk illusion adorned with Alencon lace. The bride carried a bouquet of gardenias.

The bride was attended by her matron of honor Victoria Moody LaPrairie, sister to the bride. Bridesmaids were Victoria Ann LaPrairie, godchild of the bride, Kimen Balhoff Moody and Emily Wells Moody, sisters-in-law of the bride, Mary Charlotte Hundley, Jennifer Harris Matthews, Katherine Moody McCormick, cousins of the bride, and Cherise Marie Angelle, Jeannine Marie Edwards, Kellie Matherne Daniels, Ali Landry Monteverde, and Gena Landry Purpera, friends of the bride.

Serving as best man was Mark Steven Archer, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Glauco Alberto Lolli-Ghetti, friend of the groom, Braxton Isham Moody V, Hunter Armstrong Moody, and Robert Tyler Moody, brothers of the bride, Joseph Oliver LaPrairie IV, nephew of the bride, David Joseph Mathews IV and Robert Mark Martina, cousins of the bride.

The flower girl was Kempton McClear Moody, niece of the bride. Serving as ring bearer was Jacob Moody LaPrairie, nephew of the bride.

The scriptures were read by Judith Ann Paulin, godmother of the groom, and Frank Sullivan Harris, godfather of the bride. Offertory gifts were presented by Anna Monique Goodson, Kelly Stone Singer, Jessica Lauren Thomas and Kathryn Lee Wynne, friends of the bride. Serving as Eucharistic Minister was Beverly Moody Lagroue, godmother of the bride. Kimberly Russo Boyce, Jaime Marie Bruno, Caroline Victoria Harris and Justin Allen Sylvester served as greeters.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Audubon Tea Room in Audubon Park in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The couple will reside in Lafayette, Louisiana upon returning from their wedding trip to Playa Del Carmen, Mexico.
