More election '08 by the numbers
CROWLEY – More “Behind the Numbers” from election night in Acadia Parish. Tuesday evenings article finished with the Acadia Parish results for Amendment #3.
Amendment 4 pertained to increased general severance taxes allocated to parishes. Acadia residents voted against the measure by a total of 12,073 to 9,868.
Amendment 5 had to do with the transfer of special property tax assessment levels. Parish residents voted against the amendment by a 12,593 to 8.988 vote.
Amendment 6 was to remove certain restrictions of blighted property. Acadia voters turned down the measure by a 13,035 to 8,527 vote.
Amendment 7 dealt with contributions to post-employment benefit funds. Parish voters turned it down by a 13,723 to 8,043 vote.
In all, 2,371 people cast votes in the early balloting period. That represented 67 percent of Acadia Parish voters.
Of those that voted early, 2,371 of them cast a vote for the City Judge race between M’elise Trahan and Lyle Fogleman.
