Morris "Soup" Julien

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009, in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church for Morris “Soup” Julien, 103, of Rayne, who died at 6:40 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2009, at his residence.

Burial will be in Our Mother of Mercy Cemetery in Rayne.

Morris Julien was born December 28, 1905, to the union of the late Sylvester and Louise Duhon Julien.

Morris accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Our Mother of Mercy Shrine in Rayne.

He was employed by the Rayne-Branch Hospital for 14 years.

Morris leaves to cherish his memory grandsons, Michael Carter, Albert Julian, and Morris Carter, all of Rayne, Dennis Julian, Larry Carter, and Timothy Julian, all of Houston, Texas; granddaughters, Theresa (Milton) Wiltz, Betty (Ernest) Hines, and Shirley Carter, all of Houston, Texas; 35 great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Louise Duhon; two wives, the former Della Batiste, and the former Josephine Mouton; his only child, Eunice Julian Carter; seven brothers, John, Lawrence, Phillip, Columbus, Mickey, Albert, and Foster; two sisters, Tracey and Lovenia; and two grandchildren, John Carter and Mable Carter.

Wilturner Funeral Home of Crowley is in charge of funeral arrangements.
