Mouton, Oliver to marry in September

SCOTT - Jerry and Gwen Mouton of Mermentau are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Logistics Specialist First Class Petty Officer Marla Kay Mouton to Engineman Third Class Petty Officer Daniel Fidel Oliver. The engaged couple presently lives in Virginia Beach, Va.

The bride-to-be is the grandaughter of the late Lawrence “Shine” Mouton, the late Betty Jane Dronet, Norris Joseph Leger and the late Dore Mae Leblanc Leger.

She graduated from Midland High School and attends Montgomery Community College. Marla is presently a commander in the Navy Reserve Forces Command.

The prospective groom is the son of Fidel and Fatmeh Oliver of New York, N.Y. His grandparents are the late Ahkmed and Lolione Aburish and the late Fidel Oliver and Victoria Caban Oliver.

He graduated fromNewton High School in Corona, N.Y. and is currently attending Long Island University. Daniel is presently employed in the Patrol Craft Squadron “C” Class in the United States Navy.

Marla and Daniel will marry September 30, 2011 at 5 p.m. The ceremony will take place at Sunny Meade in Scott.
