Mrs. Priscilla Cormier Boutte
Lydia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at 11 a.m. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Donavan Labbé, celebrant. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m. at the Church with public visitation beginning at 8 a.m.
She will await the Resurrection at St. Nicholas Catholic Church Cemetery in Patoutville.
A native and resident of Breaux Bridge, she passed on Jan. 7, 2009, at Maison-Teche of Jeanerette. She was a lifelong member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Breaux Bridge; she loved reading the newspaper, playing cards, picking pecans and watching her favorite soap opera, “The Young & Restless.”
Leaving to cherish her fond memories are, two sons, Leo (Mary) Boutte of Opelousas and Dwight Boutte of Frisco, Texas; one daughter, Romona (John Sr.) Olivier of New Iberia; two brothers, Alvin Cormier (Audrey) of Lake Charles and Lawrence Cormier of Breaux Bridge; four sisters, Clothilde (Mercury) Arceneaux of Morena Valley, Cal., Elizabeth Augillard of Arnaudville, Agnes Augillard and Hilda (Arista) Broussard, all of Breaux Bridge; two grandchildren, John Olivier Jr. and Chanelle Olivier of New Iberia; two god-children, Margaret Cormier Evans and Deidre Boutte Provost; a host of loving in-laws, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
She joins in glory with her husband, Alvin Bernard Boutte; parents Jules and Marie Breaux-Cormier; siblings, Whitley, Julian, Leroy, Lazaire, Alfred and Harris Cormier.
Pallbearers will be Norris Boutte, Peter Boutte, Timothy Delahoussaye, John Olivier Sr., Kirk Jolivette and Mike Cormier.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dwight Boutte, Leo Boutte, John Olivier Jr., Alvin Cormier, Lawrence Cormier, Arista Broussard, Mercury Arceneaux, Norman Boutte, Austin Boutte, Eldridge Boutte and David Boutte.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Fletcher Funeral Home of New Iberia.
