A New Miss Rayne This Weekend
The 2010 Miss Rayne competition, sponsored by the City of Rayne, will be held Saturday, Aug. 28, at 6 p.m. at the Rayne Civic Center.
Advance tickets costing $5 each are on sale at the Bernard-Bertrand House and through Miss Rayne contestants. Tickets will be available at the door at a cost of $8 per person.
Miss Rayne contestants have been busy in the last few weeks preparing for competition and attended an orientation session conducted by Rayne Cultural Director Cheryl Richard.
The competition for Miss Rayne 2010 consists of the following segments: interview, sportswear, introductions, with a circus themed dance number, evening gown, and an on-stage conversation with Mayor Jim Petitjean.
Royal properties being awarded to the new Miss Rayne are a 7” customized Supreme Crown, banner, engraved silver tray, scholarship upon successful completion of her reign, which will be awarded upon verification of enrollment at an accredited educational institution of higher learning and entry to Frog Festival Queen’s Pageant in 2011.

Miss Congeniality - banner, silver tray.
Of special interest will be the awarding of a People’s Choice Award. People attending the evening’s event will be given the opportunity to vote for a “People’s Choice” (popularity vote) for $1 per vote. The People’s Choice award winner will receive an engraved silver tray.
