New tree graces Welcome House

CROWLEY – Recently, in conjunction with the Christmas season, the Welcome House in Crowley, received a donation of a live Christmas tree from Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
On the day prior to Christmas Eve, Glen Boullion and Justin Lee of Geesey-Ferguson unloaded the fully decorated tree as residents of the Welcome House watched in awe.
“It is indeed such a blessing for us,” said Henry “Papa” Jackson, general manager of the Welcome House. “We are extremely grateful for all that we have.”
The donated tree features ornaments that were decorated during a special service of the Crowley Grief Support Group earlier this month. Each bereaved family member of the group was given materials to decorate an ornament in memory of their loved ones who have passed on.
Christmas Eve at the Welcome House was complete with a Church service, followed by a traditional Christmas dinner for its residents.
“Everyone here will have the opportunity to visit their families on Christmas Day,” informed Jackson.
