Brooks, Chaisson arrested after traffic stop
An officer’s observation of a traffic violation led to the arrest of a pair of Crowley men for alleged narcotics violations.
Shortly after 1 a.m. on Sunday, A Crowley police officer observed a vehicle driving in a careless manner. The officer stoped the vehicle on West Third Street near North Avenue A.
“After the stop was made, the officer located a substance believed to be crack cocaine. This substance was in constructive possession of both occupants, thus both men were arrested,” explained Chief KP Gibson.
After making the arrest, officers discovered that both men had outstanding warrants from Crowley Police Narcotics for possession with intent to distribute schedule I and schedule II narcotics.
Arrested were Antonio Brooks, 17, of Crowley and David Chaisson Jr., 17, of Crowley.
Both men were booked into the Acadia Parish Jail on possession of crack cocaine and the outstanding warrants.
“I appreciate the officers being out and looking for problems in our community and being proactive rather than reactive,” stated Gibson.
