Rayne Rec baseball, softball registration

RAYNE - Registration for the 2020 baseball/softball summer league of the Rayne Recreation Department will be accepted until March 14 for the upcoming season as announced by Rayne Recreation Director Dwayne Derise.
The program is open to all boys and girls ages 5-14 years of age.
Release forms must be signed by the parent/guardian and returned to the Rayne Recreation Department or Rayne City Hall, along with registration fee of $20 per participant on or before March 16th.
Students also received a registration form at their school or parents can download the form on the city’s website at www.rayne.org. All players must be registered by March 14th -- a $10 late fee will be charged after the March 14th deadline.
Registration forms will be accepted Monday - Thursday between 5-6 p.m. and each Saturday between 9-10 a.m. at the Green Room.
Registration will also be accepted at City Hall on Monday - Friday during normal business hours (9 a.m. - 4 p.m.). No registration will be accepted once teams have been picked and uniforms are ordered.
Forms may also be dropped off at City Hall during normal business hours or mailed to P.O. Box 69, Rayne, LA 70578.
Volunteer coaches, assistant coaches and umpires are needed for the program. Please volunteer your time for the children to help keep these programs operating for the children year after year.
Tryouts will be held as follows on March 14: Boy’s Pinto 9 a.m., Girl’s Pinto 10:30 a.m., Boy’s Mustang 12 p.m., Girl’s Mustang FP 1:30 p.m., and each at their appropriate field.
Shetland tryouts (boys and girls) will be held March 28 at Mauboules Park as follows: girls at 9 a.m. and boys at 10:15 a.m.
No tryouts will be held for Boy’s Bronco, Girl’s Bronco, Boy’s Pony and Girl’s Pony leagues.
NOTE: Pony Baseball/Softball has placed a new rule on bats.
The season officially begins Monday, April 22, with opening ceremonies planned the morning of Saturday, April 25, at Gossen Memorial Park.
