Crowley-based John Melvin University held its inaugural Homecoming celebration this past weekend, complete with the crowning of Homecoming Royalty. The 2023 Homecoming Queen is Kayla Mendoza of McAllen, Texas. The Homecoming King is Randall “Bryce” Guidry of Lafayette.

Mayor Chad Monceaux and members of the city administration joined the 2023 Homecoming Court on the Notre Dame High School campus Thursday to present a proclamation designating Oct. 2 through 6 as “Notre Dame High School Homecoming Week” in Crowley, urging all citizens of Crowley to participate in this observance. The Notre Dame Pioneers will host the Lake Arthur Tigers in a 7 p.m. contest Friday, Oct. 6, at Gardner Memorial Stadium.
