APPJ to close part of Conrad Road

According to a Nixle alert from the Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office, the Acadia Parish Police Jury will close Conrad Road Tuesday for the day.

Beginning at 8 a.m. the road will be closed about 1,000 feet ahead of the Crowley Waste Water Treatment Facility.

Crowley police arrest log, Aug. 4-10

Those booked or cited by the Crowley Police Department from Aug. 4 through Aug. 10 were:

• Toby Abshire, 24, Crowley, drug traffic loitering, possession with intent to distribute schedule II narcotics and theft by shoplifting, booked.

Damaris Harmon turns himself in

According to Crowley Chief of Police KP Gibson, Damaris Harmon has turned himself into authorities.

Harmon was wanted for first-degree murder in reference to the homicide of Kenneth Drake which occurred Saturday, Aug. 2, in the 1000 block of West Seventh Street. 

District 11 station nears completion

The future site of Fire Protection District 11’s fire station. According to Chief Chad Monceaux it will be open by the end of August weather permitting.

Chief Chad Monceaux, who will be leading Fire Protection District 11 once the new station is operational, has found himself looking at the skies recently.
