Chief candidates square off - Part 1

Three of the four candidates in the upcoming Crowley Chief of Police election were on hand at the Martin Luther King Center for the first of two consecutive nights of political forums in which they were able to introduce themselves and their ideas to those in attendance.

PSC rejects Cleco sale by 3-2 vote

The Louisiana Public Service Commission Wednesday rejected a $4.9 billion bid by a consortium of international investors to buy Cleco Power LLC.

New State Standards focus for committee

Among the few items in the Acadia Parish School Board’s committee meetings Monday night was a quick run-through of the proposed Louisiana State Standards that will be voted on by the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education next week.
