Nick Simoneax announces effort to create Rotary Club in Rayne

Nick Simoneaux, owner of Complete Lawn Care, has begun an effort to establish a Rotary Club in Rayne.

In an email distributed as a courtesy by the Rayne Chamber of Commerce, Simoneaux said, “It has been a dream of mine for many years to start a Rotary club in Rayne.  I have been a Rotarian for the past 18 years. I served 10 years in the Kaplan club, and the past 8 years in Lafayette South, and I have served as president of both clubs.

Because I live and grew up here in Rayne, I have always believed that Rayne would benefit by having a Rotary club, and Rotary would benefit by having a club in Rayne.”

Simoneaux invited potential members “to learn a little about what Rotary is and does” by offering several links to the Lafayette South Rotary Club, the district and international websites (; and

Simoneaux reported Mayor Jim Petitjean has offered the use of City Hall for an organizational meeting in the near future.

“In the next week or two, I plan to invite anyone who is interested to attend this first meeting, at which Rotary District 6200’s past District Governor Mike Collins will present a short program on Rotary,” said Simoneaux.

He explains the Rotary Club will not be affiliated with the Rayne Chamber of the city, adding his thanks to the Chamber staff for allowing me to send his message via their email list and Mayor Petitjean.
