Notre Dame announces Homecoming Court

CROWLEY – Notre dame High School of Acadia Parish will celebrate its Homecoming this week.

In a week filled with school spirit and lunchtime activities for students, the week will also allow the Acadia Parish community and the school’s alumni to participate and enjoy the events.

Community activities include a 5:30 p.m. Homecoming Parade down Parkerson Avenue, Thursday, Sept. 20 followed by a pep rally and the annual Chili Cook-Off at the Notre Dame campus at 6 p.m.

Homecoming gameday (Friday, Sept. 21) events include an Alumni Pre-Game Tent at Gardiner Memorial Stadium for the classes of 1973, 1983, 1993 and 2003. Kickoff of the Homecoming Game which pits the Pios against St. Louis is set for 7 p.m.

At halftime, the Homecoming Court will be recognized and the 2012 queen will be crowned.

The students of Notre Dame will enjoy their Homecoming Dance at the Rayne Civic Center Saturday, Sept. 22 beginning at 8 p.m.

The members of the 2012 Homecoming Court are as follows:

Natalee Ann Benson is the daughter of Brent and Robin Benson of Crowley. She is a four year member of the Lady PIO tennis team, having won regionals in her sophomore and junior year and qualified for the state tournament in those years. A cheerleader and track team member for two years, Natalee was in pep squad her freshman year. She plans to attend the Aveda Institute in Lafayette where she will pursue a career in the fashion industry. Natalee’s hobbies include shopping, eating sushi, cooking, running, painting, watching movies, listening to music, photography and being with friends.

Jill Claire Bertrand is the daughter of Stacy and Carlinna Bertrand of Crowley. Jill is a four year member of Campus Ministry. She has been a basketball and football trainer for four years; and a member of Beta, track and Student Council for three years. She is currently Student Council parliamentarian. Jill plans a career in neonatal nursing with the ultimate goal of marrying and having a large family. In her spare time she enjoys cooking and baking, hanging out with friends and family, babysitting, riding four-wheelers and an occasional hunting trip with her brothers.

Annie Marie Boudreaux is the daughter of Ben and Fara Boudreaux of Rayne. She is President of the senior class and has held class office four years. She is vice president of Student Council and chaplain of Campus Ministry, holding membership in both organizations four years. In addition, she is a four year member of Speech & Drama; a three year member of Beta and cheerleading. She is co-captain of this year’s squad. Annie was part of Mission Trip for two years and pep squad for one. She plans to attend LSU Baton Rouge majoring in mass communications-public relations. Her hobbies include dancing (she’s taken lessons for 14 years), painting and having friends and family over.

Taylor Elise Boulet is the daughter of Steven and Brenda Boulet of Crowley. Taylor has been a member of Beta and the Lady PIO volleyball and softball teams for four years. She has participated in Campus Ministry for two years; basketball and yearbook staff for one year. After graduation Taylor plans to attend LSU Baton Rouge majoring in education. In her spare time she enjoys taking photos, watching movies, playing sports and spending time with family and friends.

Kathryn Ann Bourgeois is the daughter of Marty and Nancy Bourgeois of Church Point. She has been a member of the Louisiana High School Rodeo for four years and a football trainer for three years. A two year member of Campus Ministry, Kathryn also held membership in 4-H and FFA for one year. She plans to attend the Aveda Institute to pursue a career in cosmetology. Her hobbies include shopping, running, hanging out with friends, riding horses and spending time with her sisters.

Meghan Claire Chiasson is the daughter of Chris and Rachel Chiasson of Crowley. She has been a baseball and football trainer for four years. She is one of the head trainers this year. In addition, Meghan holds membership in Speech & Drama for four years; Campus Ministry and Beta for three years. She is a member of the yearbook staff for two years. Her plans after graduation are to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in elementary education. Her hobbies include shopping, reading, hanging out with friends, being at football practice everyday and spending time with her family.

Victoria Anne Dupuis is the daughter of Ralph and Gretchen Dupuis of Rayne. She is a four year member of the Lady PIO track team where she twice qualified for regionals. As a varsity cheerleader for two years, she was named an All-American Cheerleader. She has held membership in Beta and Speech & Drama for three years; volleyball for two years; pep squad and Campus Ministry one year. She is a Eucharistic Minister. Victoria plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in nursing. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, shopping, fishing and water sports.

Christina Margaret Hensgens is the daughter of Dennis and Valerie Hensgens of Crowley. Christina is captain of the cheerleading squad and treasurer of Student Council. She has been a member of Student Council and the Lady PIO track team for four years. In addition to cheerleading, she has held membership in Speech & Drama, Campus Ministry and Beta for three years. She currently serves as Beta secretary and she was in Pep Squad one year. Christina plans to attend LSU Baton Rouge majoring in elementary education. In her spare time she enjoys drawing, running, cheering at football games and spending time outdoors with her family and friends.

Katherine Elise Kirsch is the daughter of Tim and Jamie Kirsch of Roberts Cove. Katherine is a four year member of the Lady PIO volleyball, basketball and softball teams. She is vice president of Beta and is a three year member of Campus Ministry. Katherine plans to attend LSU Baton Rouge majoring in sociology with her ultimate goal of earning a law degree at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center. Her hobbies include reading, shopping, watching and playing sports.

Allison Nicole Lebeouf is the daughter of Neal and Janice LeBeouf of Rayne. Allison is a four year member of Campus Ministry and Speech & Drama, currently serving on the make-up committee. As a four year member of the PIO swim team, Allison was part of the 2010 first place state relay team. A three year member of the Lady PIO track team and a two year member of the cheerleading squad, Allison also participated in softball, pep squad and newspaper staff. She is a senior representative to the Student Council and plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in mass communications. Allison will also try out for the UL Cheerleading Squad. She enjoys painting, photography, tumbling, cheerleading, swimming and spending time with family and friends.

Carlie Elizabeth Lormand is the daughter of Todd and Gayle Lormand of Crowley. She is a member of Speech & Drama for four years; Campus Minstry for three years and she is Notre Dame’s mascot “Penny the PIO.” A member of yearbook staff for two years, Carlie also played volleyball one year. She has held class office all four years, currently serving as senior class vice president and Student Council representative. She attended Mission Trip and was in pep squad. Carlie plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in public relations. Her hobbies include spending time with family and friends and helping out Second Chance Paws.

MADISON MILLER – the daughter of Patrick and Debbie Miller of Crowley, Madison has been a football and baseball trainer for four years. She is one of the head trainers this year. Madison is a three year member of Beta and was twice named class favorite. She is a member of yearbook staff, Campus Ministry, Speech & Drama and she attended Mission Trip to Costa Rica. Madison plans to attend the University of Louisiana at Lafayette majoring in nursing with the ultimate goal of becoming a nurse anesthetist. In her spare time, Madison enjoys watching movies and spending time with family and friends.
