Notre Dame gearing up for 2008 Homecoming

CROWLEY – Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish is pleased to announce the events associated with the 2008 Homecoming Game vs. Alexandria High School on Friday, October 10.

The festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, October 9, when the annual Homecoming Parade rolls North on Parkerson from the Crowley Court Circle. The parade turns right onto Northern, right on Eastern and ends at the Notre Dame campus, where a pep rally will be held.

Immediately following the pep rally, the fourth annual Notre Dame High School Chili Cookoff will be held on the track surrounding the practice field. Team entry forms are available by calling the Notre Dame Development Office at 783.7143 (there is NO entry fee for teams). Individual tickets are $5 and are available at Notre Dame High School. All funds raised will benefit the Notre Dame Teacher Benefit Fund.

All Notre Dame, St. Joseph High School, St. Michael High School and St. Francis High School Alumni are invited to celebrate Mass with the students and faculty on October 10 at 12:05 p.m. in the A.B. Dore Memorial Gym.

The week’s festivities will conclude with the football game on Friday evening when the Pioneers take on the Trojans of Alexandria High School. Prior to the game, a reception will be held beginning at 6 p.m. at Gardiner Memorial Stadium honoring the Notre Dame High School Classes of 1969, 1979, 1989, and 1999, as well as the 1959 and 1949 classes of St. Joseph High School, St. Michael High School and St. Francis High School. The 2008 Notre Dame Homecoming Court will be introduced.

Kickoff is at 7 p.m.

Emily Anne Arceneaux is the daughter of Troy and Teryl Arceneaux of Rayne. She is a four year member of Speech & Drama, a three year member of the varsity cheerleading squad, a two year member of both FCCLA and Campus Ministry and she participated in 4-H and Pep Squad for one year. Emily plans to attend either LSU or UL Lafayette majoring in Nursing or X-ray technology.

Notre Dame is also pleased to announce the 2008 Homecoming court.

The daughter of David and Bonnie Boullion of Rayne, Paige Elizabeth Boullion is captain of the varsity cheerleading squad where she has been chosen as a UCA All-Star Cheerleader. She has held membership in Student Council for three years, presently serving as Historian. Paige served as sophomore class president, junior and senior class secretary and she has held membership in Campus Ministry, Speech and Drama, and FCCLA for two years. She played softball two years and she is a member of the yearbook staff. Paige is listed in Who’s Who Among American High School Students and she is a National Honor Roll Society member. Paige will be attending mission trip with fellow NDHS students to Mexico in April. After graduation Paige plans to attend UL Lafayette majoring in Nursing.

Brittany Lynn David is the daughter of Carl and Jeanette David of Church Point and she is co-captain of the varsity cheerleading squad. In addition, she is president of Beta, Treasurer of Student Council, and Secretary of Campus Ministry. Brittany was a delegate to Louisiana Girls State and LYS and she represented Notre Dame at District and State Literary Rally in Math and Science. She has been a cheerleader and a member of Student Council, Beta and Campus Ministry for three years, Speech and Drama for four years, Science Club for two years and FCCLA for one year. Brittany plans to attend UL Lafayette majoring in Pharmacy.

The daughter of Sebreana Domingue of Rayne, Amber Logan Domingue has been a member of Campus Ministry for one year and Speech & Drama for four years. She has served as both assistant stage manager and stage manager in school productions. A member of the NDHS track team for three years, Amber has qualified in district and regional competition. She was part of the Notre Dame team that advanced to the state meet. Amber attended Louisiana Youth Seminar and Steubenville South this summer and she plans to further her education at LSU or UL Lafayette majoring in Photography.

Megan Elizabeth Doucet is the daughter of Richard and Suzanne Doucet of Jennings. Megan is a varsity cheerleader for two years, Student Council, FCCLA and Speech & Drama member for two years, pep squad, Campus Ministry and class officer for one year. After graduation, Megan plans to attend UL Lafayette or LSU majoring in Accounting.

The daughter of Michael and Christine Foreman of Rayne, Madeline Annie Foreman has been a member of Speech & Drama for three years, serving as head of make up for the recent production; Campus Ministry, Student Council and varsity cheerleading for two years; volleyball, track, and FCCLA for one year. Maddie attended Steubenville South this summer. She plans to attend LSU majoring in Nursing.

Jane Elizabeth Frank is the daughter of Kevin and Kate Frank of Rayne. She is president of the senior class, vice president of Student Council, secretary of Speech & Drama and head athletic trainer. She has been a member of Speech & Drama for four years; Student Council and athletic trainer three years; Yearbook and Campus Ministry two years; Pep Squad, FCCLA and volleyball for one year. In addition Jane attended the Mission Trip to Saltillo, Mexico, training camp at McNeese, LASC and LYS. She plans to attend UL Lafayette majoring in Visual Arts with a concentration in Photography. After undergraduate work she plans to attend Savannah College of Art and Design for a graduate degree.

The daughter of Russell and Mancy Gossen of Rayne, Leah Elizabeth Gossen is a three year member of the PIONEER PRIDE Dance Line and has been selected UDA All-Star and NDA Top All-American Dancer. A three year member of Beta, Leah holds the office of Historian this year. In addition, Leah has been a member of Student Council, 4-H, FCCLA and Campus Ministry for one year and she was a delegate to LASC. After graduation Leah will be part of the National Dance Alliance Staff and attend UL Lafayette.

Rebecca Anne Guidry is the daughter of Bill and Cheryl Guidry of Rayne. She is Secretary of the Student Council, having been a member for four years. She has participated in Speech & Drama and Lady Pio Softball for three years; Campus Ministry, FCCLA, 4-H and Beta for two years; Pep Squad for one year. In addition, she was sophomore class secretary and junior class treasurer. Becca plans to attend UL Lafayette majoring in Education.

The daughter of Gil Pinac and Phyllis Owens of Crowley, Kelli Resi Pinac is Parliamentarian of the Student Council, co-editor of Yearbook and president of Speech & Drama. She has been a member of Campus Ministry for four years, having attended Steubenville South this summer. A four year member of Speech & Drama, Kelli has been cast in the school play three years. She was junior class president, JV captain of Quiz Bowl, Literary Rally team member for two years, volleyball, basketball, softball, pep squad and soccer team member. In addition she runs Cross Country. Kelli plans to attend LSU majoring in either Education or Nursing.

Jeanne Claire Robichaux is the daughter of Tim and Jeanne Robichaux of Crowley. She has participated in volleyball for four years, track for three years, and tennis for two years. Jeanne Claire has held membership in Beta, Science Club and FCCLA for two years, Campus Ministry and Pep Squad for one year. After graduation she plans to attend UL Lafayette majoring in Accounting.

The daughter of Paul and Sydney Watson of Jennings, Hope Elizabeth Watson is a four year member of Speech & Drama and Campus Ministry. Additionally, she has been a member of FCCLA for three years and 4-H for two years. Hope also played volleyball one year. Her plans are to attend UL Lafayette majoring in Elementary Education.
