Notre Dame Lady Pios crush Jennings in softball action
JENNINGS – Notre Dame pieced together a 10-hit scoring spree for back-to-back 5-run innings and went on to pelt Jennings, 14-1, Tuesday on the road.
The Lady Pios finished with 14 hits and got a 2-hit pitching performance from Amelia Lavegne for the road win.
Notre Dame got on the board with three staight hits in the second inning. Meghan Murrel led off with a base hit, Heidi Bellard singled and Amelia Lavergne helped her cause with a run scoring base hit. Charlotte Brown then tripled to left center for 2-more Pios runs and scored on a triple down the left field line by Taylor Boulet. Alexa Thibodeaux capped the scoring with a line drive RBI single.
Jennings scored with a triple and a throwing error in the bottom of the second. But the Pios quickly answered to put the game away.

Hillary Stelly knocked Murrel in with a single to right center and Charlotte Brown pushed in another run with a fielder's choice. Ali Daigle lined a triple over third to the left field corner to bring home two more ND runs. Taylor Boulet lifted a sacrifice fly RBI to center field to cap the scoring.
In the fifth, Hillary Stelly led off with a double to right center and Charlotte Brown picked up another single to put runners at second and third. Ali Daigle knocked in Stelly with a big hop single that bounced over the third baseman. After Taylor Boulet walked to load the bases, Alexa Thibodeaux cranked her second triple of the night to clear the bases for the 14-1 final score.
