LAFAYETTE – Lillian Credeur, 89, died Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Magnolis Estate. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Saturday, August 19 at Sts. Peter and Paul Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home.

Morris Guillory Jr.
EUNICE – Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, at 1 p.m. at Owens-Thomas Funeral Home for Morris Guillory Jr., 57, who died Sunday, August 13, 2006 in Savoy Medical Center in Mamou.
Burial will be in Frey Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Saturday, August 13 from 8 a.m until service time.
Survivors include his wife, Corrine Guillory of Eunice; four daughters, Rachel G. McCoy of Houma; Rene G. Skinner of Missouri City, Texas; April A. Guillory of Eunice; and Alodia A. Guillory of Eunice; two sons, Morris L. Guillory III of Houston; and Cedric L. Guillory of Abbeville; three sisters, Lawjesten Goodwin of Crowley; Rose Louis of Church Point; and Corita Mae Vallery of Church Point; three brothers, Charles Guillory Sr. of Crowley; Larry Guillory Sr. of Church Point; and Robert Guillory or Norfolk, Va.; and nine grandchildren.

Cynthia Kombacher
EUNICE – Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 19, at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church for Cynthia Marie Kombacher, 48, who died Sunday, August 13, 2006 at his residence.
Father Richard Sadlier will officiate for the services. Burial will be in South Crowley Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Saturday, August 19 from 8 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include her father, Rodgers Moultry of Crowley; one daughter, Elizabeth Kombacher of Abbeville; six sisters, Wilda Booker and her husband, Samuel of Lake Charles; Wanda Landry of Baton Rouge; Carolyn Kombacher of Baton Rouge; Rochelle Kombacher of Covington; Patricia Newell and Brenda Variste of Baton Rouge; five brothers, Alvin Hughes and his wife, Beverly of Baltimore; Larry Foster of Baton Rouge; Leroy Chaisson and his wife, Mona of Houston; Wayne Burns of Baton Rouge; and Kenneth Kombacher of Baton Rouge; and two grandchildren.
Ms. Kombacher was preceded in death by her son, Waylan John Kombacher.

Bertha Fontenot
MERMENTAU- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel of Jennings, for Bertha Lou Fontenot, 65, who died Monday, August 14, 2006 at Lafayette General Hospital.
Interment will be in Doucet Cemetery.
The Rev. Don Pousson will conduct the service.
Mrs. Fontenot was a native of Morse and a resident of Mermentau. She loved to see her grandchildren play basketball. She also loved to go to the casino and watch the Atlanta Braves on T.V.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Fontenot of Mermentau; three sons, Mitchell Fontenot and his wife, Rhonda of Midland; Randall Fontenot and his wife, Marcella of Rayne; Russell Fontenot and his wife, Tammy of Morse; two daughters, Brenda F. Martin and her husband, Rusty of Evangeline; and Geraldine F. Bost and her husband, Steven of Atlanta, Ga.; two brothers, Voohries Vincent of Jennings; and Jessie Vincent of Mermentau; two sisters; Dorothy Duhon of Mermentau; and Lorita Gray of Mermentau; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Visitation began Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. and will continue until time of service.
A rosary was prayed Tuesday 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
Mrs. Fontenot’s grandchildren will be the pallbearers.

Adam Sonnier
KAPLAN – Adam Sonnier was called to eternal life in Christ on Monday, August 14, 2006 at his home in rural Kaplan at the age of 87.
The Rite of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Leroy, with Fr. Greg Semien officiating. Interment will be at the Leroy Cemetery Mausoleum Number 1 and will include a military salute and taps under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.
Visitation will be observed Tuesday from 11 a.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. and close at 10 p.m. to reopen Wednesday at 8 a.m. until time of service.
He began his life in Wright near Gueydan. The oldest son of Theodore and Azetilde Lege Sonnier. He served in the Army in World War II in the European Theater, and returned home to finish his studies at SLI now ULL. He taught high school sciences and agriculture at Indian Bayou High School and became principal in 1966. He received his masters degree plus thirty hours from LSU and continued at IBHS until his retirement in 1979.
He was ordained to the permanent diaconate in the Diocese of Lafayette on August 10, 1980, and served in Parks, Loreauville, and Leroy before being appointed to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne where he served for sixteen years till his retirement in 1999. He served as administrator of the Christian Service Center during that time among other duties. He had the privilege of baptizing six grandchildren and three great grandchildren during this time.
He served in various capacities in the following organizations through his adult life such as the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Lay Carmelites, Knights of Peter Calver and school organizations like Boy Scouts and Future Farmers of America.
He is survived by four children, Marlene S. Foreman and her husband Jime of Rayne; Annette S. Rice of Rayne; Francis Sonnier of New Iberia;Teresa S., Leonard and her Husband, Mark of New Iberia; his nine grandchildren, Christopher, Melanie and Jonathan Foreman and his wife, Kim T. Foreman; Albert Nolan, Jr. and Jude Rice; and Aaron, Mitchell, Brian and Sarah Leonard; his three great grandchildren, Brock and Austin Nolan and Kaycee Foreman; two brothers, Rev. Alcide Sonnier and Ivy Sonnier; and one sister, Agnes S. Guillory. He is survived by his faithful caregiver Vivian Rougeux and family. He is also survived by his faithful caregiver of five years Carolyn Gary and her family.
He is preceded in death by his wife of over 51 years Ena C. Descant Sonnier; his parents, Theodore Sonnier and Azetilde Lege; one sister, Yvonne S. Derrick, and one brother, T.J. Sonnier.
Pallbearers are Francis Sonnier, Jonathan Foreman, Jude Rice, Mitchell and Brian Leonard.
Throughout his years of service he touched many lives. He was known, loved and respected by many in his community and beyond.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice of Acadiana, Inc. or to the Diocese of Lafayette permanent Diaconate Fund.
Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Breaux
MORSE- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel of Gueydan, for Joseph B. Breaux, 74, who died Sunday, August 13, 2006 at his residence.
Interment will be in Hanks Cemetery with full military rites.
The Rev. Lloyd Singley will conduct the service.
Mr. Breaux was a native of Klondike and a resident of Morse. He served in the Marine Corp in the Korean War. He was a mechanic with Hebert and LeBleu for 27 years. Mr. Breaux like to work with his hands, in his shop and he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Hargrave Breaux of Morse; two sons, Ed G. Breaux and his wife, Connie Myers Breaux of Morse; Rickie G. Breaux and his wife, Beverly of Scott; one brother, Duffy Breaux and his wife, Ouita of Winnie, Texas; one sister, Terrie Duhon of Tomball, Texas; three grandchildren, Shantelle and Lynsay Breaux and Deseree Gaspard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Effie Breaux.
The family has requested that visitation begin Tuesday 2:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. and continue Wednesday 8 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers will be Calton Hargrave, Melvin Hargrave, Lonnie Hargrave, Allen Hargrave, Jules Menou, Duffy Breaux, Jr.

Avie Johnson
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 1 p.m. in Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Avie Johnson, Jr., 57, of Crowley. The Reverend Chris Campo will officiate. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be observed at the funeral home Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Johnson died Friday, August 11, 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Sonnier Johnson of Crowley; three daughters, Doris Miller and Crystal Richard, both of Crowley and Sandra Moore of Iota; two step-daughters, Melissa Menard of Rayne and Marie Bourque of Crowley; two step-sons, Douglas and Curtis Bourque, both of Crowley; his mother, Mary Mae Johnson of Crowley; four brothers, Rodney, Wilfred, Richard, and Michael Johnson, all of Crowley; four sisters, Lily Mae Trahan, Ella Mae Johnson, Tammy Broussard, and Mary Hebert, all of Crowley; and twelve grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Avie Johnson, Sr. and two sisters, Alta Potier and Elaine Miller.

Annie Ezell
COVINGTON – Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 15, at 3 p.m. at New Zion Baptist Cemetery for Annie Marjorie Smith Ezell, 67, who died Saturday, August 12, 2006 in Spring, Texas, after a long, hard battle with cancer.
Burial will be in New Zion Baptist Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 1p.m. until 2 p.m.
Survivors include her loving family including her mother, Gladys D. Smith; her brother, Thomas Smith and his family, Marty, Matthew and Laura; Margie’s husband, Eric J. Ezell; children, Donna E. Menard, Daniel E. Ezell, Diane C. Ezell and Dana E. Vaughn; her sons and daughters-in-law, Wendell P. Menard, Robin Ezell and J. Christopher Vaughn; her grandchildren, Ian, Sean, Eric Menard; Eryn, Nathan, Megan, Jamie, Cole Ezell and Joshua and Emily Dominique.
Ezell was preceded in death by her father, Isaac R. Smith and her brother, Henry L. Smith.
She was well loved by friends and family and will be greatly missed in all of their lives until they meet again.

Rufus Miller Sr.
IOTA – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 16, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Rufus Paul Miller Sr., 85, who died Sunday, August 13, 2006 at his residence.
Father Mike Polson will officiate for the services. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Rose Miller of Iota; four sons, Charles Miller PHD of Columbus, Ohio; Rufus Miller of Iota; Michael Miller of Rayne; Earnest Miller of Iota; and Marcus Miller of Iota; two daughters, Mary Ann Janise of Jennings and Marietta Taylor of Biloxi, Miss.; one sister, Ruby Bergeaux of Evangeline; 16 grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leopold and Mariette Miller and nine siblings.
Mr. Miller served in the Navy from March 1944 to January 1946 on the landing craft S.S. Morning Light. He was a member of the Domain of Neptuners Rex, served two terms on the Police Jury from 1953 through 1959, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a retired farmers and a member of the American Legion.

Penny Hebert
GUEYDAN- Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 13, 2006 at St. Peterís Catholic Church, for Penny Hebert, 98, who died Friday, August 11, 2006 at the Vermilion Health Care Center.
Interment will be in Gueydan Cemetery.
The Rev. Mitchell Guidry will conduct the service.
Mrs. Hebert had resided in Crowley and moved to Gueydan in the late 1980’s. She loved reading and flowers.
Survivors include three nieces; Linda Richards of Gueydan; Florette Comeaux of Lake Charles; Dr. Dorthea Kilburn of Eunice.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Miller.
The family requested that visitation would begin Saturday at 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. and continue Sunday 10 a.m. until time of service.
A rosary was prayed Saturday 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

RAYNE – Harold “Poochie” James Leger, 62, died Friday, August 11, 2006, at his residence. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 12, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.

Christine H. Chisholm
Funeral services will be held Friday, August 11, 2006 at 1 a.m. at St. Michael Church for Christine Hensgens Chisholm, 86 who died Wednesday at Southwind Nursing Home. Burial will be in Eunice.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Chisholm, Jr., her mother, Agnes L. Hensgens, her father, Nicholas Hensgens; one brother, Charles Hensgens; and four sisters, Josephine LeBlanc, Regina Duplechain, Helen Boudreaux, and Annie Hundley.
She is survived by her son, Thomas A Chisholm and his wife Lucille Leonards Chisholm, three grandchildren, Keith G. Chisholm and his wife Kathy S. Chisholm; Karen C. Lejeune and her husband Jason K. Lejeune; and Kurt G. Chisholm and his wife Georgia Y. Chisholm; six great grandchildren, Katy E. Chisholm, Jacob K. Chisholm, Jesse W. Chisholm, Christian T. Lejeune, Kane C. Chisholm, and Georgia Etta Chisholm. She is also survived by one brother, Nicholas Hensgens; and three sisters Marie Heinen, Louise Foley, and Yvonne Istre.
Tina was born on November 24th, 1919, the sixth child of ten of Agnes and Nicholas Hensgens. Her mother died when she was four years old and was sent to live with her Grandmother until her father remarried and brought the family back together. She married in 1940 to Alvin Chisholm, Jr, and for the next 23 years moved around the country to various military bases. In 1963 the family moved back to Louisiana to start the life of a farm family in Melville. While there she taught school in a small private school.
After he retired in 1975 they moved to Eunice and then to Crowley in 1990, where they celebrated their 50th anniversary. Alvin died in 1991 and she moved to Southwind Assisted Living when the facility opened.
She loved music, reading, being with her family and playing cards.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Southwind Assisted Living and Southwind Extended Care for their loving care and assistance during her stay there.

Calvin Andrew Clement
MORSE- Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2006 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, for Calvin Andrew Clement, 60, who died Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at his residence
Interment will be in Istre Cemetery.
The Rev. Don Pousson will conduct the service.
Mr. Clement was a native of Crowley and a resident of Morse. He retired with Lee Vac after 30 years and he did air condition work for 30 years. He loved to stay busy.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma Lege Clement of Morse; three sons, Wade Clement of Morse; Rodney “Jay” Clement and his wife, Bobbie of Morse; Chad Clement and his fiancee’ Adina Travis of Broussard; one brother, Leon Clement of Morse; three sisters, Marylen Schexnider of Morse; Beverly Simon of Gueydan; Carolyn Hanks of Morse; three grandchildren, Travis, Morgan and Camron Clement.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton and Delta Richard Clement, one brother, David Clement and one sister, Wilda Clement.
The family has requested that visitation begin Friday 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and continue Saturday 8 a.m. until time of service.
A rosary will be prayed Friday 7 p.m. in the funeral home.

Bailey Renae Miller
IOTA - A mass of Christian Burial will be held 4 p.m. Friday, August 11, 2006 at Saint Joseph Catholic church for Bailey Renae Miller, 10, who died Wednesday, August 9, 2006 in Tepetate ,La.
Fr. David Broussard, Fr. Mikel Polson and Fr. Ken Dominque will concelebrate the Mass of Christian Burial and the graveside services in the church cemetery. The Rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Thursday.
She is survived by her parents, Eric and Amy Miller of Iota, two sisters, Abby Gail Miller and Ashley Paige Miller both of Iota, maternal grandparents, Roger and Beverly Klumpp of Basile, paternal grandparents, Larry G. and Jackie Miller of Iota, maternal great-grandfather, Felix Klumpp of Basile, her godparents, Michael Miller and Allison Welch and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bailey was a loving daughter, sister, niece and friend. She loved the outdoors; camping, fishing, swimming and shooting skeet. She was a student at Iota Elem and member of the Junior Stars, 4-H, St Joseph’s Youth Choir and the Lady Bulldog All Stars. She also enjoyed Cajun music, cooking and softball.
Pallbearers are Marshall Klumpp, Mitchell Klumpp, Glynn Miller, Michael Miller, Bryan Miller, Keith Welch, Jay Miller and Phillip Reed.

RAYNE – Ruby Credeur, 71, died Thursday, August 10, 2006 at 5:30 a.m. at Rayne Guest Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 19 at St. Joseph Church. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.

Eula Sonnier LaVergne
RAYNE – Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 8, at 2 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Eula Sonnier LaVergne, 89, who died Monday, August 7, 2006 at Magnolia Estates in Lafayette
MSGR Russell Harrington officiated the services. Burial was in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery. Visiting hours were observed Monday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary was recited Monday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Arrangements were entrusted to Duhon Funeral Home.

Melissa Kibodeaux
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 9, at 2 p.m. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Melissa Gautreaux Kibodeaux, 29 who died Sunday, August 6, 2006 in Crowley.
Rev. Chris Campo will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visiting hours were observed Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Wednesday with viewing until service time.
Survivors include husband Derek Kibodeaux of Crowley; two sons, Jace Gautreaux and Nicholas Gautreaux; parents Gene & Hilda Gautreaux of Crowley; two sisters, Misty Gautreaux & companion Ed Prather and Monica Gautreaux of Crowley; one niece Katelyn Gautreaux; one God child, Brittany Oliver of Mermentau; granny Jane and Pappy Carl Sonnier of Crowley; Granny Linda Gautreaux of Mermentau; grandfather, Dudley Broussard of Crowley; one uncle and aunt, David and Patsy Kibodeaux of Crowley and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kibodeaux was preceded in death by her grandparents,William and Dorothy Kibodeaux, a grandfather, Norris Gautreaux, an uncle and aunt, Robert and Margie Gautreaux and an aunt Barbara Leblanc

Estina Monceaux
CROWLEY - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Robert’s Cove Church of Christ for Estina Abshire Monceaux, 80, of Crowley. Brother Sterling Shinn, pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in Kie Hebert Cemetery.
Visitation will be observed from noon until 10 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley. Friends and family are asked to meet at the church Wednesday morning at service time. Pallbearers will be her six sons.
The precious mother of twelve children, six boys and six girls, Mrs. Monceaux died at her residence at 5:38 p.m. Monday, August 7, 2006. She resided in Crowley most of her life and enjoyed reading, trivia on the radio, and going to the casino. She will be greatly missed by her children and all who knew her. She was a loving and caring mother to her children, grandchildren and all their friends.
She is survived by five daughters, Patsy Ritchie (husband Mike), Darlene Guidry (husband Lloyd), Sharon Breaux (husband Boy), and Lisa Allen( husband Terry Benton), all of Crowley and Tina Williams (husband Grant Whitehurst) of Houston, TX; six sons, Ernest, Kit, Johnny (wife Teysha) and Ricky (wife Linda) Monceaux, all of Crowley, Kenneth Monceaux (wife Jackie) of Berwick, LA and Jay Monceaux (wife Gayle) of Duson, LA; thirty grandchildren, thirty-nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Ezetille Abshire; her husband, Ernest Monceaux, Sr.; three brothers, four sisters, a daughter, Carol Foreman, and two grandsons, Paul Bauer and Troy Foreman.

Eunice B. Hoffpauir
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 9, at 10 a.m. at Frist Baptist Church for Mrs. Eunice B. Hoffpauir, 91 who died Monday, August 7, 2006 at American Legion Hospital.
Rev. Roger Tarver will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visiting hours were observed Tuesday from 11 a.m. with viewing until 10 p.m. The funeral home will reopen at 8a.m. on Wednesday with viewing until service time.
Survivors include husband Albertis Hoffpauir of Crowley; one daughter, Mildred Lepretre Cormier of Crowley; six sons, Ernest Lepretre, Jr. of Gueydan; Thomas Lepretre of Estherwood; Leroy Lepretre of Morse; Wallace Lepretre of Gueydan; Lloyd Lepretre of Jennings and Floyd Lepretre of Hathaway; one brother Lawrence Boudreaux of Morse; one sister, Velma Chassion of Nunez; 23 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren
Hoffpauir was preceded in death by her first husband, Ernest Lepretre, Sr.; her parents, Edes and Agnes LeMaire Boudreaux; two sisters, Marie Broussard and Thelma Boudreaux; three brothers, Ollie, Lovelace and Edes Boudreaux.
Pallbearers will be Ernest, Jr., Thomas, LeRoy, Wallace, Lloyd and Floyd Lepretre. Honorary Pallbearers are Steven, Brandon and LeRoy, Jr. Lepretre.

Joseph P. Breaux
WHARTON – Funeral services were held Monday, August 7, 2006 at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton for Joseph P. Breaux, 77, who died Thursday, August 3, 2006 in a Houston hospital following a brief illness.
Father Roger Hawes officiated the services. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. A rosary was recited Sunday at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of the Wharton funeral home.
Survivors include one son, Richard Breaux of Iota; daughters, Bonnie Ferguson of Houston, Mona Woodward of Moss Bluff, Monora “Cookie” Broussard of Iowa; stepdaughters, Mylinda Foreman of Kaplan, and Shelby Tibodeaux of Rayne; step sons, Shelton Terro of New Iberia, and Timothy Terro of Rayne; Grandchildren, Ricky Breaux, Tommy Breaux, Josh Breaux, Terri Middleton, Trisha Seagler, Michah Woodward, Rachel Bourque, Jennifer Woodward, Michael Broussard, Grady Broussard, and Crystal Broussard; 7 great grandchildren, 15 step-grandchildren and 7 step-great grandchildren.
Breaux was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Inez Breaux who died on January 28, 2001; his parents, a brother, Leonard Breaux, one grandson, David Breaux, and a former wife, Mildred Sittig.
Mr. Breaux served in the National Guard and was placed on active duty in the U.S. ARmy when the Korean War started. He served with Btry. C, 187 FA Observation Battalion. He served 13 months on the front lines in the Korean War, rising to the rank of STaff Sergeant and was awarded the Korean Service Medal with three bronze stars and several other medals. He received an honorable discharge, September 10, 1953. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton and was a very close friend of Father Joe Koebel. He worked for Barbin Novelty Co. in Crowley, for Keton Novelty Co. in Wharton, and Lone Star Cleaners, part-time until his death. He enjoyed cooking, woodworking, putting together vintage model cars and trucks, working with electronics and fishing. He enjoyed family, home, and Cajun music.
Pallbearers were Donald Foreman, Tommy Breaux, David Cormier, Doug Middleton, Lupe Castillo, and Bill Ansley. Honarary pallbearers were Frank Heikamp, John Heikamp, Tres Ansley, Joel Ansley, Micah Woodward, Michael Gomez, Sr., Michael Gomez, II, John Price, Sr., J.J. Price and all of his fellow co-workers at Lone Star Cleaners and his many friends and neighbors.

CROWLEY - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Frank B. "Keno" Leger, 92, who died Sunday, August 6, 2006 at 7:15 p.m. at Jennings American Legion Hospital.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum. The family requests visiting hours be observed Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include one daughter, Rhonda L. Courville and her husband Gerald of Spring, TX; one son, James M. "Mackie" Leger of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Kyle Courville of The Woodlands, TX and Paige Courville of Spring, TX.
Mr. Leger was preceded in death by his wife, Eula Doucet Leger; infant son, Samuel Craig Leger; his parents, Frank and Ophelia A. Leger; three sisters, Ella L. Stanford, Emma L. Miller and Viola L. Lantz; two brothers, Rufus Leger and Floyd "Mike" Leger.
He was a veteran of the United States Army during World War II. Was a member of American Legion Post #15, V. F. W. Post #6720, and Knights of Columbus Council #1318. He retired from Sun Oil Company after twenty-six years of service.

Steve LeBlanc
RAYNE - Funeral services will be held Monday Aug. 7, 2006 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Steve R. LeBlanc,62, who died Saturday Aug. 5, 2006. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Loida H. LeBlanc of Rayne; two sons and their wives Chris and Celeste LeBlanc of Raleigh NC., and Barret and Annie LeBlanc of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren, Erin and Garrett LeBlanc of Raleigh NC. And Luc and Eli LeBlanc of Baton Rouge ; he was also survived by dedicated friends, especially Jerrie LeBlanc. He was preceded in death by his father Clet LeBlanc.
Mr. LeBlanc was a 1962 graduate of Rayne High School, and attended U.S.L. for three years where he was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. He completed courses in watchmaking, jewelry repair and diamond setting at NTS in Natchitoches. Following jobs in Breaux Bridge and Lafayette, he opened, owned and operated LeBlanc’s Jewelry in Rayne for several years.
Mr. LeBlanc was a dedicated member of the Rayne Y.M.B.C. for over twenty years, past member of the American Watchmakers Institute, and was a charter member of the Rayne Chamber of Commerce, serving on the temporary board. He liked swimming, reading and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also active in the Rayne Recreation youth baseball program for several years.
Visitation will be Sunday Aug. 6, 2006 from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. and Monday from 8a.m. until time of services. Burial will be in the Old St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne

Zella Mae Clark
ESTHERWOOD- Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2006 at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel of Jennings, for Zella Mae Lou Manuel Clark, 78, who died Friday, August 4, 2006 at the Jennings American Legion Hospital.
Interment will be in Liberty Cemetery.

Mrs. Clark was a lifelong resident of Lake Charles and a resident of Estherwood for the past six years. She was an artist and a seamstress. She loved gardening and animals.
Survivors include her partner in life, Charles Virgil LeBleu of Estherwood; two daughters, Marla Myers and her husband, Hillard of Estherwood; Denise Clark and her husband, Royal of Gulf Breeze, FL; one son, Richard A. GUEYDAN – Funeral services will be held Friday, August 4, 2006 at 1 p.m. in Vincent Funeral Home honoring the life of Clifford Desormeaux, 73, who died August 3, 2006 at the Gueydan Memorial Guest Home.
He will be laid to rest at Gueydan Cemetery with Reverend Mitchell Guidry officiating the services.
He is survived by one son, Randall Desormeaux of Lake Charles; one daughter, Patricia Smith of Crowley; two sisters, Mrs. Allen (Mildred) Trahan of Bridge City, Texas and Mrs. Dudley (Tommie) Doucet of Starks; one half-sister, Gloria Hebert of Crowley; one half-brother, Joseph Desormeaux Jr. of Crowley; seven grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Desormeaux and Avalia D. David; and one brother, J.C. Desormeaux.

Edith Lavergne
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, 2006 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Edith Istre Lavergne, 88, who died Monday, July 31, 2006 in Crowley.
Fr. Matthew Higginbotham, Pastor of Immaculate Heart, will celebrate the Mass of Christian burial and the committal services at Woodlawn Cemetery. The Rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Mrs. Edith was born July 1, 1918 to the late Ceasar and Josephine Boudreaux Istre. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, was married to the late Hollis Lavergne and they resided in Crowley. She worked 65 years, mostly as a supervisor at numerous bag factories in Crowley.
She is survived by one son, Bradley Lavergne and his wife, Sandra of Crowley; two granddaughters, Amanda L. Johnson and her husband, Steven and Emma Lavergne all of Crowley; a sister, Ethel Leger of Crowley; and her caretakers, Karen Constantin of Crowley and Saundra B. Heinen of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters, Edole Spell, Eva Miller and Vivian Broussard; and three brothers, Cesiare Istre, Wilfred Istre and Willie Istre.
Pallbearers will be A.J. Istre, Steven Johnson, Brook Istre, Kirk LeBlanc, Melvin Leger, Michael Broussard and Kevin Spell. Honorary pallbearers will be Huey Spell and Mozart Broussard.
Visitation was Tuesday from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will continue on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Bobbie Mesnard
CROWLEY – A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening at Our Lady Seat of Wisdom Chapel on the Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish Campus for Bobbie Jean Brockway Mesnard who died quietly at her daughter’s home in Crowley on July 30, 2006. Following the brief service, family visitation will extend until 8:30 p.m.
Mrs. Mesnard, 76, a resident of Foxwood Springs Retirement Community in Raymore, Missouri, was born April 28, 1930 in Windsor, Mo. She graduated from the University of Missouri with a B.S. and a Masters in Education and taught English for thirteen years before becoming the Special Program Coordinator for the Federal Reserve Bank in Kansas City, Mo. She retired from the bank in 1995 after twenty years of service.
She is survived by her daughters, Marsha Williamson of Lafayette and Cindy M. Istre of Crowley; son-in-law, Terry P. Istre; four grandchildren, Abby W. Kennedy of Houma and Jamie, Joshua, and Caitlin Istre of Crowley; one great grandchild, Gabriel Kennedy of Houma; her sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Lloyd Wilkerson of Raymore, Mo.; and nephew, Dr. Brian Wilkerson of Lawrence, Kan. Her dear friend, Mr. Burl Howell, of Raymore, also survives her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Velma and Homer Brockway; her husband, Ron Mesnard; her nephew, Brock Wilkerson; and son-in-law, R.A. "Buster" Williamson, Jr.
Jean was an avid reader, bridge player, and lover of people. A member of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, she played the piano, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School for many years. She will be lovingly remembered by many for her sweet, friendly nature and gentle ways.
Mrs. Mesnard’s cremains will be interred in the family plot next to her parents in Laurel Oak Cemetery in Windsor, Mo.
The family requests that gifts in her memory be made to Hospice of Acadiana or to Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish Memorial Fund.

Barbara Brigola
CROWLEY – Funeral services for Barbara Doucet Brigola, 71, who died Sunday, July 30, 2006 in Abbeville will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 3, 2006 at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of Saint Michael’s and Fr. Greg Simien will concelebrate the Mass of Christian Burial and the committal services at Istre Cemetery in Morse. The Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Mrs. Barbara was born in Morse on December 20, 1934 to the late Ovey and Effie Roy Doucet. She was a graduate of Morse High School and Lamar University School of Nursing, She was married in 1958 to Aniceto Brigola Sr. and they raised their family together in Crowley. She was a retired registered nurse from the Jennings American Legion Hospital.
She is survived by two daughters, Christina Brigola and Charlene Brigola, both of Abbeville; three sons, Aniceto Brigola Jr. of Chandler, Ariz.; Gregory Brigola of Laredo, Texas; Angelo Brigola of Crowley; and one adopted daughter, June Mendoza of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren, Tiffini Brigola, Jennifer Cuccio, Joey Cuccio II, Meaghan Brigola, Connor Brigola and Anthony Brigola; and two great grandchildren, Breelyn Brigola and Cole Brigola.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Aniceto Madella Brigola Sr.
Visitation may be observed on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
