In the months preceding his death, Mr. Duson had received immense
pleasure from writing his biweekly column for The Crowley Post-Signal
entitled, In the Eyes of a Living Library.
As the grandson and nephew, respectively, of Acadia Parish founders,
W.W. Duson and C.C. Duson, Howard had a penchant for the history associated
with Acadia Parish and Southwest Louisiana, in some cases, funny memories
of past local events that may have otherwise been forgotten.
Saying often that he never met a stranger he was willing to greet
as an old friend, Howard had friends from virtually every walk of
life. Friends and family members gain great comfort in the knowledge
that Howard will benefit from his unyielding Catholic faith.
His parents, Louise Farley and Henry Thayer Duson, preceded Mr. Duson
