Pamela Thibodeaux DuBose
CROWLEY – Pamela Thibodeaux “Pam” DuBose was born on August 18, 1948 in Church Point to Evans Thibodeaux and Clara Colligan.
Pam was a very active member of the Crowley Business and Professional Women's Club for many years. She served as recording secretary, publicity chairman and chairman of the Miss Crowley Pageant during her tenure with the club.
Pam was also very involved with the Crowley Town Club, where she was an active member for 33 years. She served on the Club’s Board of Directors for many years and as President of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a member of the Town Club Ladies Krewe and served on the Mardi Gras Court in 1992.
Pam and her husband Jim owned and operated Rice Bowl Lanes in Crowley for ten years. She was the former Society Editor for the Rayne Acadian Tribune, The Crowley Post-Herald and The Crowley Post-Signal for several years before retiring in 1992.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 7, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Pam, 56, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family requests visiting hours be observed Thursday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Jim DuBose of Crowley; two daughters, Gina R. Davis of McHenry, IL and Shawn D. Comeaux and her husband Neal of Crowley; five grandchildren, Logan Monceaux, Sloane Matthews, Caitlyn Monceaux, Myles Gates and Jack DuBose; step-grandchildren, Andreé and Simone Comeaux; her mother, Clara Haure of Rayne; maternal grandmother, Claudia Colligan of Rayne; step-mother, Bette Thibodeaux of Marrero, four brothers, Evans Thibodeaux Jr. of Algiers, Tony Matte of Harvey, Jesse Matte of New Orleans and Jason Thibodeaux of New Orleans; four sisters, Ros Haure of Rayne, Mona Bullock of Rayne, Kaye Hilliard of Crowley and Darlene Williams of New Orleans.
Pam will be most remembered for her love of life, family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and a pillar of strength for her family. She was a true and trusted friend to many, loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Pallbearers are Chad Charles, Scott Merry, Mike LeLeux, Hank Capel, Chris Dupont and Jeff Fontenot.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home.

Edwin Justin Broussard
SCOTT - A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 22, 2005 at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Scott for Edwin Justin Broussard, 20, who died December 17, 2004 in Baton Rouge. Officiating for the service will be Pastor John Lovas.
Mr. Broussard was a native of Lafayette and at the time of his death he was a resident of Baton Rouge where he was a construction worker. He attended Crowley High School and recevied his GED in Baton Rouge. He loved baseball.
Internment will be at Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott.
Survivors include his mother, Jackie Broussard of Baton Rouge; one brother, Joshua Broussard of Baton Rouge; grandmother, Laura Lormand of Rayne; grandmother, Gertrude O’Donnell and step-grandfather, John J. O’Donnell, both of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edwin Broussard and grandfather, Francis Lormand.

CHURCH POINT – Enola C. Richard, 78, died Sunday, January 16, 2005 at Acadia St. Landry Hospital in Church Point. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 18 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point is in charge of arrangements.

Stanley Bollich Sr.
ORANGE, TEXAS – Stanley N. “Stan” Bollich, Sr., of Orange, Texas, died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2005, at his residence. Born to William Joseph Jr. and Cecelia Theresa (Zaunbrecher) Bollich in Branch, La. he graduated Valedictorian of China High School, was a rice farmer, road construction foreman on Interstate 10 from Winnie to Baton Rouge and a retired plant operator with 30 years of service from A. Schulman.
Funeral Mass was 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 17, at St. Mary Catholic Church, with Reverend Stephan McCrate celebrant. Visitation was 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday at the Dorman Funeral Home with a rosary at 6 p.m.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Father Ron Bollich.
Survivors include one son, Stanley Nick (Nicky) Bollich Jr. of Orange, two daughters and their husbands, Diane Bollich Champagne and Jerry and Theresa Bollich Khoury and Ike all of Orange; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilbur A. and Betty Bollich of Nederland, Hal and Gardlene Bollich of Winnie and James and Betty Bollich of Vidor; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Ann and Bob Ogden of Evergreen, Colo.; five grandchildren P.F.C. Cody Bollich U.S Army, Iraq, Jeremy Khoury, Kristen Khoury, Patrick Williams and Nicolas Bollich and one great grandson, Riley Williamson.

Ryan Nelson Corbins
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 17 at 10 a.m. at the St.Theresa’s Catholic Church for Ryan Nelson Corbins, who died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005 in Winnfield. Father Richard Sadlier will officiate for the services. Burial will be in South Crowley Cemetery. Visitation will be observed Monday, Jan. 17 from8 a.m. until time of services.
Survivors include his surrogate mother, Magnolia Hollier of Rayne; his father, Russell Corbins, Jr. of Rayne; one sister, Crystal Corbins of Lake Charles; two surrogate brothers, Lester J. Washington, III and Osagie Omoruyi, both of Rayne; paternal grandparents Russell Corbins Sr. and Lucille Corbins, both of Crowley; maternal grandfather, Nelson Arceneaux of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jacqueline Corbins, and maternal grandmother, Stella Arceneaux.

Marjorie Gladys Hayes
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Sunday, Jan. 16 at 3 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Marjorie Gladys Hayes, 77, who died Thursday, Jan. 13 in Crowley.
Rev. Joe Talhelm, pastor of the Ebenezer Nazarene Church, will preside over the funeral services and the committal services at Maxie Cemetery.
She is survived by three sisters, Ethel Henderson of Crowley, Shirley Dupuis of Baker, and Gertrude H. Everett of Baymanette, Alb. Ms. Hayes also had many loving nieces and nephews.
Ms. Hayes was preceded in death by her parents, Elijah Cabot and Marie Reed Hayes and one sister, Norma Hayes Henderson; three brothers-in-law, Hayes E. Henderson, Dewey V. Everett and Adley J. Dupuis Sr.
Visitation may be observed Saturday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until time of services.

Loraine Klein Schultz
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata for Loraine Klein Schultz, 67, who died Saturday, Jan.15, 2005 at her residence. Father George Hefner will officiate for the services. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery in Mowata. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include two daughters, Carla S. Thevis and her husband Jeff of Mowata, Suzie S. Miller and her husband Ira of Eunice; one son, Jeff Schultz of Mowata; one sister, Mona K. Ward of Crowley and two grandchildren, Karl and Emily Thevis, both of Mowata.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald A. Schultz and her parents.

Albert J. Dupre
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Church in Egan for Albert J. Dupre, 73, who died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 at his residence in Egan. Father David Broussard will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Sennet Cemetery in Egan. Visitation will be observed Sunday, Jan. 16, from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6 p.m. in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria Dupre of Egan; three sons, Greg and his wife Rhonda Dupre of Crowley, Kevin Dupre of Gueydan and Mark Dupre of Egan; two daughters, Lisa and her husband Richard D. Monceaux of Crowley and Betty Dupre of Egan; three brothers, Horace Doucet and his wife Carol of Crowley, Ray Doucet and his wife Bonnie of Duson and Tommy Doucet and his wife Faye of Crowley; one sister, Gertude Bonin and her husband Willie of Jennings; seven grandchildren, Kelli, Ashley and Michael Dupre of Crowley, Keisha Baronet of Crowley, Brittany Broussard, Hayley Spell and Britton Dupre of Egan and three great grandchildren, Cameron, Cayli and Caydance Baronet of Crowley.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Josephine Quebodeaux Doucet and his stepfather, Adam Doucet, Jr.; his father, Constance Dupre Sr.; two brothers, William and Constance Dupre, Jr.; one sister, Clarice Doucet Fuselier and one great grand daughter, Kirstien Baronet.
He served in the U.S. army during the Korean conflict.

Joe Glen Elkins
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 17, at 11 a.m. at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Joe Glen Elkins, 81, who died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at American Legion Hospital. Reverend Roger Tarver will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be observed Sunday from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred LaCrosse Elkins of Crowley; two daughters, Patricia "Tootsie" Barbera of Alexandria, Carol Jo Curry of Lafayette; two sons, Jerry Elkins and his wife Debi of Baton Rouge and Jimmy Elkins and his wife Ava of Bunkie; two brothers, Hulin Elkins of Arlington, TX and Lorenz Elkins of Conroe, TX; nineteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren,
Mr. Elkins was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Elkins and Gary Elkins; one granddaughter, Tanya Nicole Barbera; his parents, James O. and Dora Rogers Elkins; one sister, Ruby Coleman; and three brothers, Tom Elkins, John Elkins and Orval Elkins.
Mr. Elkins was a veteran of World War II having served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed by Sun Oil Company for twenty-four years and Tenneco Oil Company for fourteen years.
The family request memorial contributions be made to Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish Scholarship fund because of his dedication to education and the St. Michael's and Notre Dame High School athletic programs,

Dalton J. Leleux
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 14 at 2 p.m. at the Funeral Home Chapel for Dalton J. Leleux, 67, who died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005 at American Legion Hospital. Father Pousson will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Hanks Cemetery in Morse. Visitation was observed Thursday, Jan.13, 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until time of service. Rosary was recited Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Survivors include one daughter, Linda Ann Leleux of Abbeville; four brothers, Ludius Leleux of Pasadena, Texas, Nolan and Eldridge Leleux, both of Estherwood and Shelton Leleux of Sulphur; two sisters, Nola and her husband Andrus Bertrand of Crowley and Lydia Lege’ of Gueydan, three grandchildren, Larry Lynn Bouget, Jr., Christopher Lee Bouget and Angie Bouget
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donita Abshire and Clyde Leleux and one sister, Lulia Miller.

Gracie Aguillard
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 15 at 10 a.m. at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Gracie Aguillard, 59, who died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005 in Meadowbrook Hospital.
Deacon Rodless Leleux will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family request visiting hours will be observed Friday from 11 a.m until 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include her husband, Leo Aguillard of Crowley; four daughters, Debra Delahoussaye, Tracy Hanks, Mirinda Aguillard and Charolette Benoit, all of Crowley; two sons, Bradley Aguillard and Markeith Aguillard, both of Crowley; two brothers, Billy Russell and Grover Russell, both of Bowie, Texas; one sister, Glenna Kay Ensey of Bowie; her mother, Pauline Moore of Bowie and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother and one brother.

Leroy Joseph Treadway Sr.
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Leroy Joseph Treadway Sr., 87, who died Wednesday evening in Crowley.
Fr. Rusty Richard will celebrate the Mass of Christian burial and preside over the graveside services at Woodlawn cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday evening. Visitation will be Friday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m until time of service
Mr. Treadway was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served his country during WWII. He was also a member of the Crowley American Legion Post 15.
He is survived by five sons, Leroy J. Treadway and wife Patricia of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., John Samuel Treadway and wife Angela of Belle City, Paul Treadway and wife Lucy of Lafayette, James Nelson Treadway of Conroe, Texas and Nick Treadway and wife Deanna of Crowley; one brother, Manuel Treadway of Port Sulphur; 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Mr. Treadway was preceded in death by his wife, Willia Mae Leblanc Treadway; his parents, Samuel and Augusta Gilmore Treadway; six sisters and four brothers.

Lena Belle Sam
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church for Lena Belle Sam, 82, who died Saturday, January 8, 2005 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
Father Richard Sadlier will officiate for the services. Burial will be in the South Crowley Cemetery. The family request visiting hours are observed Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include eight daughters, Jeanette A. Sam of Houston, Claudette A. Sam of Port Arthur, Dianne Stokes and Mary H. Jones, both of Peoria, Ill., Melba Thompson of Dayton, Ohio and Linda Price, Christina Harmon and Gearldette M. Rogers, all of Crowley; five sons, James A. Sam of Tacoma Wash., Michael R. Sam of Copperas Cove, Texas, John P. Sam and Gerard N. Sam, both of Crowley and Frederick L. Sam of Lafayette; one sister, Melina Guillory of Port Arthur, Texas; raised as brothers, Nelson and Preston Arceneaux of Crowley; 27 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Sam was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Sam Sr.; one son, Glen Marshall; one sisters, Rena Sylvester and raised as brother and sister, Wilma Arceneaux Sr. and Olivia Johnson.

CHURCH POINT – Marion Brasseaux, 83, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at his residence in Rayne. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 12 at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. Burial will be in the First Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home.

CHURCH POINT – Mrs. Vivian Constantin Matt, 76, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005 at her residence in Rayne. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 13 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Guidry Funeral Home.

Dalton Hanks
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 13 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Dalton Hanks, 70, who died Jan. 10, 2005 at his residence in Crowley.
Rev. Kerry Doucet will be officiating for the services. He will be assisted by Rev. Joseph Damon. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Hanks was a member of the United States Army, and owner of Hanks Discount Tire Service for 48 years.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey Doucet Hanks of Crowley; one daughter, Janet H. Duncan of Fayetteville, Ark. and husband Paul; two sons, Shelton R. Hanks and wife Lisa of Crowley and Robert D. Hanks and wife Angela; seven grandchildren Brandon, Bryan, Brett, Courtney, Amy, and Bethany Hanks and Skylar Chavers; four step-grandchildren, Christina Vincent and husband Roger, Brian Touchet, Ashley Chavers and Jessica Chavers; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Anastacia Vincent and one brother, Raymond Hanks of Abbeville.
Mr. Hanks is preceded in death by his parents, Aurelie and Helen Rung Hanks and two brothers, Charles "Tib" Hanks and Joseph Hanks.
Visitation may be observed Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

Anthony B. Thompson
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Jan 12 at 1 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Anthony B. Thompson, 77, who died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Pastor Lloyd Singley will officiate for the services. Burial will be in North Hanks Cemetery. The family request visiting hours to be observed from 10 a.m. Tuesday until 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. Wednesday until service time.
Survivors include one son, Jerrl Thompson of Crowley; two daughters, Gwendolyn Sue Romig of Grosse Tete and Martha Steffy of Crowley; raised two sons, Dudley Simon of Harrison, Ark. and John Simon Jr. of Hemitt, Calif; one brother, Nathan Thompson of Crowley; five sisters, Elnora Fike of Syracuse, N.Y., Geraldine Guidry of Vinton, Pat Meaux of Baker, Barbara Comeaux of Crowley and Margie Fontenot of Vinton; seven grandchildren, Todd Romig, Jonathan Romig, Erin Beth Hollie, Jessica Thompson, Eric Thompson, Ryan Thompson and Valarie Thompson Guidry; 13 great grandchildren, Alexis, Hunter, Makenzie, Kennedy, Drew Everett, Shawn, Brittany, Monica, Caleb, Joshua, Meredith, Abbigail and Halle.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doy Smith Thompson; one son, Everette Allen Thompson; one grandson, Everette Allen Thompson Jr. and his parents, Jessie and Dorsena Bergeaux Thompson.
Pallbearers will be Erick Thompson, Ryan Thompson, Brian Comeaux, Kent Smith and Keith Navarre. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Steffy, Joe Romig, Todd Romig, Jonathan Romig, Dudley Simon and John Simon.

GUEYDAN – Frank W. Guidry, 80, died at 12:30 a.m Friday, Jan. 7, 2005 at Gueydan Memorial Guest Home. Funeral services are pending with Matthews and Son Funeral Home.

CHURCH POINT – Herman “Junior” Brinkman Jr., 83, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Guidry Funeral Home.

Eliza Leleux Simon
LYONS POINT – Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 10 at 2 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point for Eliza Leleux Simon, 82, who died Friday, Jan. 7 at American Legion Hospital.
Father Pousson will officiate for the services. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery. The family request visiting hours to be observed from 11 a.m. Sunday until 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. until service time Monday. A rosary will be recited Sunday, Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include one daughter, Margery Thibodeaux of Lyons Point; four foster sons, Melvin Riley of Lake Charles, James Evans of Shreveport, Charles Haley of Ebenezer and Ricky Haley of Ebenezer; two brothers, Pierre Leleux and Vern Leleux of Calif.; one sister, Louise Maggio of Beaumont, Texas; six grandchildren, Monica and Donald Hilliard Jr. of Lyons Point, Tracy and Wesley Meaux of Lyons Point; Rikki and Tony Jacobson and Eden Prairie, Minn., Brady and Alisha Thibodeaux of Kaplan, Rachael and Courtney Bieber of Mamou and Kimberly and Jeremy Langley of Lyons Point and 18 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eldes Simon; her parents, Theophas and Emelita Leleux; one brother, Willis Leleux; one sister, Beulah Leleux and one son, Joseph Simon. She was a member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Altar Society.

Joseph David Broussard
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Joseph David Broussard Sr., 74, who died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005 at Abbeville General Hospital.
Deacon Rodless Leleux will be officiating for the services. Interment will be in Estherwood Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife; Mary Gaspard Broussard of Nunez; one daughter, Francis Broussard Downs of Shreveport; two sons, Joseph David Broussard Jr. and wife Sherry of Florida and Russell Broussard of Houston; one step-daughter, Laura Duhon and husband Keith of Kaplan; one step-son, Ricky Desormeaux and wife Betty of Kaplan; three sisters, Jo Ellen Stump and husband Chuck of Cleveland, Texas, Hazel Touchette and husband Lee of Crowley and Charlene Abshire of Kaplan; five brothers, Norman Paul Broussard and wife Ella of Kaplan; Hubert Broussard and wife Marie of Galveston, Texas, Herbert Broussard and wife Marie of Midland, Leroy Broussard and wife Nola of Crowley and Reese Broussard and companion Samantha of Perry, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Broussard is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elia Louvierre Broussard and three sisters, Florence Istre, Mary Broussard and Hilda LeBouef.
Visitation will be observed Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of service on Monday.

CROWLEY – John Simon Jr., 74, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at Meadowbrook Rehab Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Owens-Thomas Funeral Home.

CHURCH POINT – Zanis “Boose” Fontenot, 84, died Wednesday, Jan. 5 at Doctor Hospital in Opelousas. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6 at Guidry Funeral Home. Burial was in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church mausoleum under the direction of Guidry Funeral Home.

Candy Rose Amie
CROWLEY - Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan.7 at 1:00 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Candy Rose Amie, 31, who died Jan. 5, 2005 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Father Donald Pousson, will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Survivors include her mother, Angela Amie of Crowley; her companion, Rives Lavergne of Crowley; two daughters, Angela Nicole Amie and Tesa Marie Lavergne, both of Crowley; one son, Rivas Lavergne III of Crowley; one sister, Victoria Lynn Lee of Wisconsin and one brother, Donald Anthony Lee of Wisconsin.

Ida R. Schexneider Broussard
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Ida R. Schexneider Broussard, 85, who died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 at the Crowley Guest House.
Deacon Rodless Leleux will be officiating the services. Interment will be in the Old Crowley Cemetery. A rosary will be prayed Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
She is survived by seven sons, Alfred Schexneider of Florida, Wilbert and Katherine Schexneider of Maryland, Lawrence and Shirley Schexneider of Morse, Robert Schexneider of Crowley, Larry Schexneider of Oberlin Dudley and Cindy Schexneider and Odie and Roberta Broussard of Abbeville; seven daughters, Mary Ann Courville of Sunset, Joyce S. Durio of Oberlin, Mary Jane Schexneider of Oberlin, Rose Mary and Donald Brown of Opelousas, Odelia and Kendall Simoneaux of Abbeville, Joann Broussard of Crowley and Lora B. and Calvin Welch of Crowley; 42 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, Simon Richard and Mary Leleux; one son, Jimmy Schexneider; three sisters, five brothers and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Brian Guidry, Kevin McCracken, Sean Lodrigue, Chad Marvin, Joey Trahan and Charles Baker
Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday with viewing until time of service Friday.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 6 at 2 p.m. at Ebenezer Nazarene Church for Phyllis W. Jacks, 78, who died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005 at Morse Manor Home.
Pastor Joe Talhem and Pastor Langley will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Hanks Cemetery in Morse. The family request visiting hours are observed at the church from noon til 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. till time of service Thursday.

Nora Bellard Thevis
EUNICE – Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata for Nora Bellard Thevis, 63, who died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at her residence.
Father George Heffner officiated the services. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery. Visiting hours were observed Friday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary was recited Friday at 7 p.m.
Survivors include her husband, Frank Thevis of Mowata; two sons, Dwayne Thevis and wife Jackie of Eunice and Dewey Thevis and wife Nikki of Broussard; one daughters, Vickey Frey and husband Stephen of Eunice; one sisters, Mercedes Johnson and husband Ronald of Church Point and five grandchildren, Stephanie Thevis, Jennifer Frey, Derrick Fry, Hunter Thevis and Tanner Thevis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, LeLouis and Arminie Blanchard Bellard; and one brother, Dewey Bellard.
She was a lay minister of communion at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata and a member of the Ladies Alter Society. She was also a member of the Richard Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was also a Sacristan of St. Lawrence Church.

Joseph Curley Lapoint
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Joseph Curley Lapoint, 77, who died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Father Rusty Richard will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Abshire Cemetery. Visiting hours were observed Monday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and will be observed Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary was recited Monday at 6 p.m.
Survivors include one son, Melton “Pepe” Lapoint and wife Faye of Morse; four grandchildren, Arica Morgan, Charlie Lapoint, Wendy Lormand and Joshua Lapoint; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Angelee Lapoint; his parents, Elizabeth Leger and Marcel Lapoint and his siblings.
Mr. Lapoint was a native of the Morse community and a resident of Crowley for the past five years. her was a farmer in the Morse community.

Doris Reed Stewart
CROWLEY – Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 3, 2005 at 2 p.m. in Geesey-Ferguson Chapel for Doris Reed Stewart, 87, who died at her residence in Iota Friday December 31, 2004.
Reverend Herchell Paterson officiated and burial was at Maxie Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by two sisters, Carmen Martin of Iota and Velma Smith of Florida; two step-daughters, Candy Zube of Oregon and Paula Powdrill of Alexandria and a host of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Maxie Cart Reed; her husband, J.B. Stewart; one son, Jerry Lee Paterson; six brothers and two sisters.

Gilbert Patrick Tevy
CROWLEY – Funeral services were held at I p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005 at St. Michael Catholic Church for Gilbert Patrick Tevy, 56, who died Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004.
Father Gary Schexnayder officiated the services. A rosary was recited at 6 p.m. Friday by Sister Justina Baker. Interment was in Estherwood Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn M. Tevy of Crowley; his mother, Hazel Wiltz Tevy of Estherwood; three sons, Everett Tevy and his wife Theresa of Baytown, Texas; Brady Tevy and his wife Tammy of Prairieville and John Tevy of Lacompte; two sisters Patricia Sprouse of Houston and Lucette Segura and husband John W. of New Iberia; one brother, Michael Tevy and his fiance Karen Tinnin of Houston; and two grandchildren, Christopher and Alysa Tevy.
Mr. Tevy is preceded in death by his father, Leroy Tevy.
Visitation was observed Friday from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.

CROWLEY – Funeral services were held Sunday Jan. 2, 2005 at 2 p.m. in Geesey-Ferguson Chapel for Leaurdy Broussard Toups, 88, who died at her residence on Saturday Jan. 1, 2005.

Mrs. Toups is survived by one son, A.J. (Buddy) Toups III and his wife Janice of Crowley; two grandchildren, Abel Andy Toups IV and wife Rachel of Iota and Angelle Toups Deroussel and husband Marty of Lafayette; three great grandchildren, Alex and Cameron Toups and Bailey Deroussel and also a special friend Dianne McClelland.
Mrs. Toups was preceded in death by her parents, Gabriel and Laura Roy Broussard; her husband, A.J. Toups, Jr.; two sisters, Mrs. B.J. (Gurthy) Cart Jr. and Veart Suire.

Hilda Stewart
GUEYDAN - Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005 at Matthews and Son Funeral Chapel for Hilda Stewart, 77, who died Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at Lafayette General Hospital.
Interment was in Hanks Cemetery in Morse. Reverend Mitchell Guidry conducted the service. A native of Morse and a resident of Gueydan, Mrs. Stewart was a retired telephone operator of 25 years. Her hobbies were crocheting and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include four sons, Robert Stewart and wife Maureen and Donald Stewart and wife Peggy, both of Houston; Ronald Stewart and wife Donna of Lafayette; Curtis Dale Stewart of Hawaii; four daughters, Leola Mae Boone of Opelousas; Yvonne Potier and husband Wilson of Gueydan; Renella “Annie” Finn and husband James of Winnie, Texas; Katherine Martin and her husband David of Broussard; two sisters, Virgie Chaisson of Jennings; Mary Jane Aucoin of Beaumont, Texas; 21 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Domelle and Marilla LaVergne Richard; her first husband, James Stewart; her second husband, Isaac Gotreaux; one son, Walter Stewart; one son-in-law, Hilden Boone; one brother, Clarence Richard and two brothers-in-law, Isaac Aucoin and Harris Chaisson.
Visitation was observed from 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 1 until time of services and Sunday at 2 p.m. A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.

CROWLEY – Graveside services were held Thursday Dec. 30 at 2 p.m. at the Abshire Cemetery for Wilbert Ronald James Langlinais Sr., 59, who died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004 at his residence.
Father Sonny Brown officiated the services. Burial was in Abshire Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Ronald Langlinais Jr. and Chad Langlinais both of Mermentau; two daughters, Rebecca Guidry of Crowley and Rhonda Epps of Houston; his companion Deborah Primeaux of Crowley and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ranuald and Willie Mae Simon Langlinais.
