Dora Mae Landry
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Michael’s Catholic Church for Dora Mae Landry, 76, who died in Thursday, March 26, 2003 in Springfield, Missouri. She was a resident of Harrison, Arkansas and a residetn of Newton County for 37 years. Prior she was a resident of Louisiana, Texas and Western Grove. Visitation will be tonight from 6-8 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home and burial will be in Woodlawn Ceemtery.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Mary Mother of God Church. She was involved with her late husband Mason Landry in farming both in rice and cattle. She and her husband were members of the Cattleman’s Association and the Farm Bureau.
Survivors include two sons, John and Eva Landry of Houston and Mason James Landry of Taxarkana, Texas; three daughters, Clara Credeur of Grove, Tx., Dora and Roger Williams of Harrison and Dorothy and Bill Dale of Republic, MO.; four sisters, Reita and Doug Conner of Lake Arthur, Jeanette Hash of Altamont, TN, Anna Lea and Albert Guidry of Lake Arthu and Anna Belle LaPointe of Lake Arthur; five brothers, Doris and Tedine Doucet of Lake Arthur, Hormace and Wilma Doucet of Roanoke; Alpha and Earline Doucet of Roanoke, Percy and Margie Doucet of Lake Arthur and Louis and Sandra Doucet of Mermentau; 21 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mason Landry in 1989 and her parents and one sister.

Mrs. Marian Harkins Robbins
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2003 at Woodlawn Cemetery for Mrs. Marian Harkins Robbins, 84, of Buford, Ga., formerly of Crowley, who died Wednesday, March 26, 2003.
She is survived by her husband, Sigmond L. Robbins of Buford, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. Mark (Barbara) Schneider of Suwanee, Ga. and Mrs. Thomas (Karen) Ferguson of Fairfax, Va.; six grandchildren, Robin, Stephen and Michael Ferguson, Loren and Kristina Mouravieff and Victoria Schneider; one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Cryer of Crowley; and several nieces and nephews.
A native of Crowley, she was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Crowley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 6500 Sugarloaf Parkway, Suite 260, Duluth, Ga. 30097, in memory of Marian Robbins.

ST. FRANCISVILLE - Quentin Holdeman, 81, a native of Crowley and resident of St. Francisville, died Wednesday, March 26, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at the United Methodist Church in St. Francisville.

Mrs. Maureen Spell Broussard
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Northside Assembly of God in Crowley for Mrs. Maureen Spell Broussard, 73, who died at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, at her home in Indian Bayou. Burial will be in the Indian Bayou United Methodist Cemetery with Rev. Loyd Singley officiating.
Visitation will be observed Wednesday from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and again on Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Broussard of Indian Bayou; one sister, Ruth Spell of Indian Bayou; and two brothers, Frank Spell Jr. and Edwin Spell, both of Indian Bayou.
Mrs. Broussard lived in Baytown, Texas from 1949 to 1989 for 40 years. In 1989 she moved to Indian Bayou where she was a native. She sang in the Trinity Tabernacle Assembly of God Church in Baytown for 17 years. She was an avid gardener and loved her flowers.
Mrs. Broussard is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marie Breaux Spell; four brothers, Tracy, Merl, Earl and Wilfred Spell; and two sisters, Rose Spell Foreman and Anez Spell Hoffpauir.

CHURCH POINT – Mrs. Linus Duplechin, nee Tiny Carriere, 77, died at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, March 26, 2003. CANKTON – Columbus Pierre-Auguste Jr., 59, died Friday, March 21, 2003 at his residence in Sunset. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at St. John Berchman Church in Cankton. Edward Hoffpauir III
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2003 at St. Michael Catholic Church for Edward Hoffpauir III, 58, who died at 7:05 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at the Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Father Gary Schexnayder will be officiating for the funeral service. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening. Visitation may be observed Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Edward Hoffpauir III, lifelong resident of Crowley, beloved husband, son, father and brother, died Sunday evening at the age of 58 years, six months. Ed retired from Columbia Gulf Transmission Company in 2000 after 34 years of service as a corrosion Specialist. Among numerous awards he received while at Columbia Gulf, he reached his millionth mile as a safe driver with the company in 1999. He recently began his own business as a building inspector and was an avid woodworker and gardener. Well known for his barbecue, Ed will be missed by all. He was a parishioner of St. Michael Catholic Church of Crowley.
He is survived by the former Shelly Talen, his wife of 37 years, his mother, Margie Cormier; two sisters, Jackie Ducote and Janet Cradeur, both of Baton Rouge; one brother, Johnny Romero of Lafayette; and his two children, Sara Hahn of Baton Rouge and Edward Hoffpauir IV of Crowley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Hoffpauir Jr., and a brother, Roy Romero Jr.

Antonia Dupuis
JENNINGS - Funeral services for Antonia Dupuis, 83, were held at 3 p.m. Monday at Matthews & Son Funeral Home Chapel. The Revs. Mitchell Goite and Austin Spell officiated.
Visitation was observed from 5 until 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 a.m. until the time of services Monday.
Burial was in Mermentau Cemetery.
Mrs. Dupuis died at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Jennings Guest House.
She was a native of Mermentau Cove and a resident of Jennings.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Cynthia Dupuis of Jennings; one son-in-law, Paul Perron of Jennings; one daughter-in-law, Lena R. Dupuis of Jennings; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jeff and Olivia LeBlanc; her husband, Vorhies Dupuis; one daughter, LaVelle Perron; and one son, Dalvis Dupuis.

Mildred Vincent Hungerford
GUEYDAN - Funeral services for Mildred Vincent Hungerford, 77, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Peter Catholic Church. The Rev. Mitchell Guidry officiated.
Visitation was observed from 2 until 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until the time of services Monday at Matthews & Son Funeral Home of Gueydan.
Burial was in the Gueydan Cemetery.
Mrs. Hungerford died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Abrom Kaplan Memorial Hospital in Kaplan.
A native and resident of Gueydan, she was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She loved gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Vernis Hungerford of Gueydan; two sons and daughters-in-law, Max P. and Jacki Hungerford of Gueydan, and Terry L. and Patty Hungerford of LaGrange, Texas; one daughter, Karen H. Theriot of Gueydan; one sister, Wilda Broussard of Crowley; 10 grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and special friends, Bertha Istre and family of Gueydan.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucien and Edmoza Vincent; one daughter, Dee Ann Hungerford; one sister, Gladys Richard; and one brother, Percy Vincent.

RAYNE - Patrick Chiasson, 60, of Denham Springs, died at 12:15 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, at Our Lady of Lakes Hospital in Baton Rouge. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, in the Chapel at Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne with burial in St. Theresa Cemetery in Duson.

ELTON - Lawrence “Black” Lavallitt, 80, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at the Calcasieu-Cameron Hospital in Sulphur. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in the St. Paul Catholic Church with burial in Liberty Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Elton.

Katie Lawler DuBus
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 22, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Katie Lawler DuBus, 94, who died Friday, March 21, at 8:20 a.m. at The Crowley Guest House.
Rev. Bob Hollis officiated for the services. Visitation was observed Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter, Kakie Hoffpauir and husband Bill of Crowley; two granddaughters, Kay Fruge of Crowley and Diana Heinen of Eunice; three grandsons, Monte Hoffpauir of Eunice, Kevin Hoffpauir of Crowley and Robert DuBus Jr. of Gonzales; nine great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Katie is preceded in death by her husband, Jules DuBus; one son, Robert DuBus Sr.; and one great grandson, Neil Fruge.

LYONS POINT - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2003 at St. John the Baptist Church in Lyons Point for Euclide Guidry, 86, who died at 8:25 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003 at the Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Fr. Mitchell Guidry will officiate for the services. A French rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Sunday and Fr. David Broussard will pray the rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
Visitation may be observed Sunday from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in the St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eumca Doucet Guidry of Lyons Point; two sons, Nujay Guidry of Ebenezer and Chester Lee Guidry of Morse; sis grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Mr. Guidry is preceded in death by his parents, Felix and Margaret Bertrand Guidry; two brothers; two sisters; and a grandson, Greg Guidry.

She is survived by two sons, Rod Cradeur and his wife Becky of Crowley and Rickie Cradeur and his wife Brenda of Crowley; one twin sister, Annie Mae Hebert of Crowley; four brothers, Ellis Cradeur, Vincent Cradeur Jr., both of Crowley, Maxie Cradeur of Branch and Bernard Cradeur of Houma; five grandchildren, Tammy C. Fuselier, Amanda, Jason, Todd and Anthony Cradeur; and three great grandchildren, Daniel Fuselier Jr., Austin Fuselier and Hunter Cradeur.

Mrs. Allie Reed Lanthier
IOTA - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 24, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Mrs. Allie Reed Lanthier, 84, who died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Jennings American Legion Hospital following a long illness. Burial will be in the church cemetery with Fr. David Broussard officiating.
Viewing will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday until 10 p.m. and again on Monday beginning at 8 a.m. until the time of the service. A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday evening.
She is survived by her husband, Willie Lanthier of Iota; a son, Raymond Lanthier of Iota; one daughter, Virginia Spears of Oberlin; two brothers, Lanix Reed and Voorhies, both of Mamou; a sister, Anna Belle Ardoin of Mamou; eight grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a son, Larry Lanthier.

Sidney P. Guidry Sr.
CHURCH POINT - Funeral services for Sidney P. Guidry Sr., 83, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 23, 2003 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point. Burial will be in the OLSH cemetery. Celebrants will be Msgr. Fred Swenson and Fr. Paul Thibodeaux, first cousin of Mr. Guidry.
Visiting hours at Guidry Funeral Home in Church Point were on Saturday from 3 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Saturday evening.
A native and resident of Church Point and resident of Opelousas from 1946 through 1959, Mr. Guidry passed away on Friday, March 21, 2003 at Lafayette General Medical Center at approximately 1:30 p.m.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joyce Breaux Guidry of Church Point; two sons, Sidney P. (Benny) Guidry Jr. and his wife Darlene of Church Point and Stephen Anthony Guidry and his wife Heidi of Houston; two daughters, Carolyn Bordelon and husband Steve of Houston and Debbie Thibodeaux and husband Robert of Church Point; two sisters, Eldine G. Colligan of Baton Rouge and Valrie G. Borne of Church Point; a brother-in-law, J.L. Franchebois of Opelousas; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren, along with many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie Guidry and Ethel LaFleur Guidry; a son, Donald James Guidry; two sisters, Jeanette Franchebois and Eloise Carte; and one brother, Berton Guidry.
Mr. Guidry served his country in WWII as a member of the 8th Air Force, serving 29 months overseas as a Master Sergeant/Flight Chief. He served with the 792nd Anti Aircraft Artillery Battalion. He was stationed at triangular shuttle bombing bases in England, Egypt and Russia and participated in the Rhineland, Central Europe and Air Offense Europe campaigns. Following his discharge in 1946 he returned to Opelousas where he worked at Tankel’s Men’s Store until 1959. He then returned to Church Point that year to manage Guidry Funeral Home as a co-owner with his father and uncle, Oscar Guidry.
Mr. Guidry was a very active member of his church and community. He was a member and long-time usher of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Port 9903 and American Legion Post 225, both of Church Point. He was also a 4th Degree Knights of Columbus - Bishop Jeanmard Assembly and a member of Msgr. C.A. Bienvenue Knights of Columbus Council 2504 of Church Point and the Woodmen of the World Camp 444. He was also a founding member of the Church Point Little League and the Aquatic Club of Church Point.
A successful businessman, Mr. Guidry won many awards in the insurance industry and was strongly involved in the funeral industry as manager, president and board chairman of Guidry Funeral Home. He was a long time member of the National, Louisiana and Southwest Louisiana Funeral Directors Associations.
Mr. Guidry was loved by his extensive family and by many friends. He leaves behind a wonderful legacy of love, caring and generosity. He enjoyed fishing and his camp at Three Mile Lake, as well as gardening and sports. His work in the insurance and funeral business afforded him the opportunity to become life long friends with many of the people he had the opportunity to serve. He was well respected and will be sorely missed by his family, friends and community.

S. Leon Derveloy Jr.
ABBEVILLE - S. Leon Derveloy Jr., 75, of Abbeville, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
Born on May 11, 1927, in Crowley, he was the son of Shafter L. and Virginia D. Derveloy. Mr. Derveloy had been manager of the Louisiana State Rice Mill, later Riviana in Lake Charles, before being transferred to Abbeville. At the time, the mill in Lake Charles was the largest in the world, being seven stories tall. After being transferred to Abbeville, he became manager of Rough Rice and MFTG for the entire state for Riviana. He was over 11 plants, including one in Rayville. After many years, he retired in June of 1986 with almost 40 years of service.
Graduating from St. Michael High School in Crowley in 1943, Mr. Derveloy studied in the priesthood for 4 and 1/2 years. He attended S.L.I. for two years, and then afterwards going into the military services where he was a veteran in World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He studied at Texas Tech in Lubbock and New Mexico A & M at Les Cruces, afterwhich he served in Korea for a year.
He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Floy Richey Derveloy of Abbeville; his stepmother, Lillian Steen Derveloy of Abbeville; two sons, Leon “Sonny” Derveloy and wife Barbara of Abbeville and Kenneth Michael Derveloy and wife Gretchen of Egan; two brothers, Gene Derveloy of Shreveport and Thomas Derveloy of Centerville; a stepbrother, Albert Steen of Abbeville; nine grandchildren, Angelique Perkins and husband Shawn, Tisha White and husband Bob, Nicole Chambers and husband Johnny, Brooke and Allison Derveloy, Brandie Richard and husband Eric, Tara Derveloy and Jason Derveloy; and six great grandchildren, Kennedy Grace Richard, Allen White, Misty White, Seth Perkins, Memori Chambers and Blaise Chambers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Melvin.
A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. at David Funeral Home, 2600 Charity St., in Abbeville. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of the service.

SCOTT – Lula Marie Chiasson, 78, died at 12:45 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003 at Evangeline Oaks in Carencro. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 21, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.

GUEYDAN – Michael Francis LeBlanc, 53, was buried in Istre Cemetery following funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2003 at the Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral arrangements was arranged by Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Jennings.

Tommy Melancon
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, with Father William Ruskoski officiating, for Tommy Melancon, 36, of Rayne, who died at 3 a.m. Friday, March 14, 2003, at his Rayne home.
Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery No. 2 in Rayne.
He is survived by his father, Milton Joseph Melancon Sr. of Crowley; four brothers, Milton Joseph Melancon Jr. of Brasile, and Darrell Melancon, Timmy Melancon and Teddy Melancon, all of Rayne; two sisters, Eleanor “Tiny” Melancon, Baham and Sharon Melancon Bertrand, both of Rayne; a half sister, Melody Melancon Miller of Rayne; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Willa Mae Lavergne Melancon.

Jerome Jeremiah “Jerry” Danna
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2003, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Jerome Jeremiah “Jerry” Danna, Jr., 62, who died at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2003, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The Reverend Sam Maranto, C.S.s.R., will be the celebrant of the Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Gift bearers will be Noelle Bertrand, Amelia Bertrand, Jeremiah Danna, Scott Leger and Rebecca Williams. Lectors will be Carolyn Bertrand and L.J. Gielen. Musical selections for the services will be provided by L.J. Dailey, Margaret Daniels and Beverly LeBlanc, vocalists, and Alberta Lyons, organist.
Survivors include his wife, Glenda Trahan Danna of Crowley; one son, Jonathan Jude Danna and his wife, Dana, of Crowley; one daughter, Mary Elizabeth Danna of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, Jeremiah Danna and Madelyn Danna, both of Crowley; three brothers, Dr. Lawrence J. Danna and his wife Kathy and Vincent F. Danna and his wife Louise, all of West Monroe, and Gregory Danna of San Antonio, Texas; and, four sisters, Cecile D. Buckley and her husband Frank of San Antonio, Texas, Anita D. Trice and her husband, Ed, of South Boston, Virginia, Patrice D. Diffie and her husband, Joel, of Jefferson, Texas and Susan Danna of Houston, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerome J. Danna, Sr. and Angelina Feduccia Danna; one brother, Salvador Danna; and, one sister, Ronnie D. Walker.
A native of West Monroe, Mr. Danna was a resident of Crowley for the past thirty-four years, where he was the owner of one of the local Crowley All State Insurance agencies. He was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church Parish where he served as a lay minister of communion to local nursing homes and hospitals for many years. Mr. Danna most enjoyed caring for his grandchildren and gardening. He will be remembered for his joyous love of life and ready smile.
Pallbearers will include Wes Bertrand, Andy Danna, David Danna, Toby Danna, Craig Feduccia, David Feduccia, Michael Feduccia, and Howard Sibley. Honorary pallbearers will include Patrick Broussard, Joe Campo, Steve Campo, Michael Doughty, Chris Feduccia, and Coach Richard Pizzolatto.
Visitation will be observed from 2-9 p.m. on Sunday, March 16, 2003, and from 8 a.m. until the time of services on Monday, March 17, 2003. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Redemptorist Catholic School or St. Michael Elementary School.

Betty Thibodeaux Mier
Funeral services were held Friday, March 14, at an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in the Carmelite Monastery for Betty Mier, 71, the former Betty Thibodeaux, who died Wednesday, March 12, 2003, at 3:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Interment was in the St. John Cemetery.
The Rev. Monsignor Glen John Provost, pastor, Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, was the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and conducted the funeral services. Con-celebrant was the Rev. Keith DeRouen, rector, Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
Gift Bearers were Jenny Thibodeaux, Anne Marie Thibodeaux and Stephen Miller. Lectors were Joan Finley and Gregory Thibodeaux. Musical selections for the services were “Keep In Mind,” “Queen and Beauty of Mount Carmel,” “My Song for Today” and “Mary, We Greet Thee.”
Survivors include her husband, Shelby Samuel Mier, and one sister, Carrie T. Voinche and her husband, Jack, all of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Theonice and Leta Breaux Thibodeaux and one sister, Lutha T. Bossley.
A native of Crowley and a resident of Lafayette for 35 years, Mrs. Mier was a member of the Carmelite Monastery for nine years where she was an Apostalate.
She was a volunteer in the Cathedral of St. John‚s Sacramental Records office and was awarded the St. John Cathedral medal as well as the Bishop’s Service Medal in 1998 for her outstanding volunteer work.
Mrs. Mier was a member of the Opelousas Chapter of D.A.R., the Lay Order of Discalced Carmelite Sisters, and the Serra Club of Lafayette.
She was a loving wife and friend to all.
A rosary was prayed Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
Visitation was observed from 3 until 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until time of services Friday.

Mr. Hanks died at 7:20 a.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Elfreida and Ferl Bourque; and maternal grandfather, Thomas V. Hillard.
He was a 1992 graduate of Notre Dame High School and was an avid football fan.

She is survived by three sons and their wives, Elridge and Mary Myers Jr. of Estherwood, Hillard and Marla Myers of Estherwood and Russell Myers of Iota; two daughters and their husband, Sheila Myers of Crowley and Shirley and Carl Daigle of Estherwood; 17 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren and six step great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Bennett J. Landry Jr., 84, who died Tuesday, March 11, at 12:30 a.m. following a brief illness.

Mr. Landry served four years in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Nitro and five years with the 5th Army Air Corp, 49th Fighter group stationed in New Guinea during World War II. He was the founding partner of Landry, Harris and Co. and was active in the insurance business for 53 years.

LAFAYETTE - Memorial services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at a 10:30 a.m. service in La Chappelle de Martin and Castille for Haidee Odom, 87, the former Haidee Redlich, who died Sunday, March 2, at 10:50 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.

Survivors include two sons, Owen R. Odom and wife Mary Margaret in Lincoln, Ala. and Kenneth N. Odom ad wife Donna of Albany, NY; five grandchildren, Eric, Michael, Patrick, Kevin and Timothy Odom.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of over sixty years, William A. Odom; her parents, Owen Lawrence and Lucille Placette Redlich; one sister, Helen R. Hodges; two brothers, Owen Redlich and Oris Redlich; and one son, William R. Odom.
Mrs. Odom was a native of Basile and a resident of Lafayette for most of her life. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart College in Grand Coteau.
She was an elementary school teacher i Basile and also taught school at Our Lady of Fatima, Cathedral Carmel and St. Martin Parish Schools.
Mrs. Odom was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Altar Society and the St. Michael’s Altar Society of Crowley.
The family has requested that visiting hours be observed Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.

ROBERTS COVE - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 1, at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Leo Catholic Church in Roberts Cove for Glynn Roy Hoffpauir, 57, who died at his residence in Amarillo, Texas, Wednesday Feb. 26, 2003, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Interment will be in St. Leo Cemetery in Roberts Cove.
The Rev. Francis Bourgeois, pastor of St. Leo Catholic Church, will be the celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the services.
Survivors include one daughter, Jaime Hoffpauir of Amarillo; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Deborah Hoffpauir, of Bentonville, Ark.; two loving granddaughters, Rachel and Sarah Hoffpauir of Bentonville; his father, Jesse Hoffpauir Sr. of Crowley; one sister, Brenda Hargrave of Rayne.
Preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Thevis Hoffpauir; mother, Mrs. Jesse Hoffpauir Sr.; and one brother, Jessie Hoffpauir Jr..
Mr. Hoffpauir was a parishioner of St. Hyacinth’s Catholic Church in Amarillo.
He was born in Crowley on Aug. 9, 1945, and graduated from Rayne High School in 1963. Before moving to Oklahoma and Texas, he worked at Columbia Gulf and was owner of Hoffpauir Motors in Lake Arthur.
Offertory gifts will be presented by Nancy Rinn, Deborah Lyro, Brenda Vidrine, all nieces of Mr. Hoffpauir.
Pallbearers will be Brett Hornsby, Michael Hoffpauir, William Reiners Jr., John Berken, Wilbert Thevis Jr., and Charles Thevis, all nephews of Mr. Hoffpauir.
A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Friday.
