PORT BARRE – Father Eugene Senneville, 84, died Saturday, March 18, 2006. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Port Barre. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Church Mausoleum under the direction of Sibille Funeral Home of Port Barre.

RAYNE – Wilton “Boy” Foreman, 65, died Sunday, March 19, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 21 at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Mausoleum under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.

DUSON – Marshall “Bee” Bourque, 84, died Saturday, March 18, 2006 at Lafayette General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 21 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson. Burial will be in the St. Theresa Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.

CROWLEY – Funeral services were held Monday, March 20, at 2 p.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Edith D. Monceaux, 90, who died Saturday, March 18, 2006 in Crowley Rehab Center.
Deacon Rodless Leleux officiated for the services. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visiting hours were observed Sunday from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. and continued Monday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary was recited Sunday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her companion of 30 years, Tony Cormier of Crowley; two sons, Elton Monceaux and Harry Monceaux, both of Crowley; one daughter, Mary Pommier of Denton, Texas; one sister, Lillian Quebodeaux of Crowley; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Ms. Monceaux was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Monceaux; three sons, Robert Lee, Joe Black and Melvin Monceaux; three daughters, Dartey Monceaux, Dorothy LeBeuf and Betty Matthews; her parents, Asa and Azema Domingue Doucet; three sisters, Edith Credeur, Marie Perrodin and Alice Fontenot and three brothers, Pete, Duyless and John Doucet.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Duhon Funeral Home.

Orthurene “Tootie” Cormier
LAFAYETTE – Funeral services were held Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Bethel C.M.E. Church for Orthurene Marie “Tootie” Cormier, 67, who was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 10, 2006. Interment was in West Crowley Cemetery.
Tootie was a member of Bethel C.M.E. Church, the Usher Board, Pastor’s Aide and Union Usher. She also inspired floral designs for activities and events at the church. Tootie was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, caring aunt and friend to everyone who knew her.
Mourning her passing, yet cherishing her memories is her daughter, Jacquelyn, Bernard and her husband, Donald of Crowley; one daughter she merely adopted, Christine Milstead and her husband, Clyde Jr. of Crowley; four grandchildren, Toyonicka Cormier, Rhodonna Bernard, Justin Bernard and Etosha Bernard all of Crowley; two grandchildren who grew to love her as their own, Clyde Joseph Milstead and Calvin Khalil Robinson, both of Crowley; five great grandchildren, Kierra Lyons of Houston, E’Mare Carter, Tylin Bernard, Ellicia Carter and Emori Carter, all of Crowley; one brother, Earnest Cormier and his wife, Helen of Corlwey; five sisters, Evelyn Guidry and her husband John of McKinney, Texas, Lucinda Jackson and her husband Jeffery, Wadie Arceneaux, Evis Cormier and Violet Benoit, all of Crowley; one uncle, Wesley Bias of Crowley; two aunts, Clotile Cormier of Dallas, Texas, Elaine Cormier of Lake Charles; four godchildren, Pamela Guillory of Houston, Severnia Jones of Pineville, Dwayne Hollier and Earnesha Arceneaux, both of Crowley; a special friend, Leah Broussard of Crowley; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Ella Cormier; one sister, Catherine Rogers and godparents, Wadie Harris and Ivory Cormier.
Visitation was held Friday, March 17, 2006 at Bethel C.M.E. Church from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m.
Syrie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Annie Thibodeaux
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Monday, March 20, at 10 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church for Annie Thibodeaux, 89, of Abbeville, who died Thursday, March 16, 2006 in Heritage Manor in Abbeville.
Father Avelino Vale will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Sunday from noon until 10 p.m. and continue Monday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include one son, Larry Thibodeaux and his wife, Shirline of Abbeville; four brothers, Cornelius Melancon of Crowley, Andrew Melancon of Rayne, Buster Melancon of Rayne and Bobby Melancon of Bossier City; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Mrs. Thibodeaux was preceded in death by her husband, Elias Thibodeaux; one son, Winston Thibodeaux; one grandson, Darrell Thibodeaux; her parents, Beatrice Arceneaux and Joseph Melancon; five sisters, Ethal Melancon, Leeora Amelang, Lillian Perrodin, Mary Lee Sensat and Viola Mire; and three brothers, A.J., L.B. and Mano Melancon.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Duhon Funeral Home.

Carolyn Melancon Horn
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Friday, March 17, at 10 a.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Carolyn Melancon Horn, 45, who died Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
Father Gary Schexnayder will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Abshire Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Friday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary was recited Thursday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Greg Horn Sr. of Iowa; three daughters, Jill and Glen Hizer, Jenah Abshire and Jade Abshire, all of Nashville, Tenn.; her mother and step-father, Beatrice and Wilvin Leleux of Crowley; two step-daughters, Brandy and Armond Sanchez of Houston and Sherry and Butch Mosley of Houston; four step-sons, Greg Horn Jr. of Houston, Michael Horn of Houston, Scott and Kerry Horn of Raytown, Mo. and Timothy Horn of Raytown; two sisters, Rhonda M. Taylor and her husband, Steven of Branch and Lisa M. Henry and her husband, Michael of Crowley; one brother, Gordon Jude Melancon Jr.; and six step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon J. Melancon Sr.; one daughter, Jamie Lynn Abshire; her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eleu Cormier; and her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robley Melancon.

Amanda Adams
RAYNE – Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 18, at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Amanda Adams, 18, who died Tuesday, March 14, 2006 in Rayne.
Father Bill Ruskoski will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley. Visiting hours will be observed Friday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and continue Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited Friday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Opal Jeanette Sexton
Navarre

LAFAYETTE - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, 2006 in the Delhomme Chapel of the Flowers for Opal Jeanette Sexton Navarre, 77, who died Friday, March 17, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Reverend Bob Zannini, Reverend Loyd Singley, Reverend Terrell Reed and Reverend Basil Green will officiate.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.
Mrs. Navarre, a native of Mermentau, was the daughter of the late Elzie Elbert Sexton and Edna Roy Sexton.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, John S. (Kay) Navarre of Lafayette; daughters, Sharon F. Samples, Karen K. Navarre and Debra N. Faulk and husband, Gerald all of Lafayette; grandchildren, Gerald L. (Jerry) Faulk, Jr. and wife Tiffany, John W. Faulk and wife, Amanda; great grandchildren, Taylor Marie Faulk of Cape Coral, FL, John W. Faulk, II, Gerald L. (Trey) Faulk, III and Jacob Michael Faulk all of Lafayette; sisters, Joanne Caswell of Sulphur, Judy Guidry of Crowley, Vicky Hollinsworth of Starks, Linda Heard of Starks; brothers, Roy Sexton of Jennings, Jack "Butch" Sexton of Olney, IL Danny Sexton of Starks, and Charles ‘Chuck" Sexton of Starks; step grandchildren, Jackie Guidry and Heather Bourgeois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Jack E. Sexton, Delbert F. "Buster" Sexton and sister, Juanita S. Green.
Visiting hours will be observed today from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to time of services at 10 a.m.
Pallbearers will include Gerald Faulk, Gerald Faulk, Jr., John W. Faulk, David Green, Bill Prosser and Don Prosser. Honorary pallbearers will include Joseph Franklin and Rayford Fontenot.

Catherine Letz
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2006 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Catherine Allen Letz, 79, who died March 16, 2006 at Crowley Guest Nursing Home.
Rev Charles Floyd Jr., Pastor of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, will be officiating for the services. The family requests visiting hours to be Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Letz is survived by her husband, Harold J. Letz, Sr. of Crowley; one daughter, Carol L. Stanford of Alexandria; two sons, Harold J. Letz Jr. of Crowley, and John K. Letz of Medford, Ore.; and two grandsons, Ian Stanford of New Orleans, and Jason Stanford of Belmont, Calif.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Ann Letz; her parents, Sam and Mary Jane Sarver Allen; and two brothers, John and Harry Allen.
Mrs. Letz was a member of Pythian Sisters Lodge. She was also the leader of the Campfire Girls, Bluebirds, and Cub Scouts. Mrs. Letz spent her life as a homemaker and had many friends.

OBERLIN – Tony LeBlanc, 44, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Oberlin. Burial will be in the Oaklin Springs Cemetery under the direction of Ardoin Funeral Home of Kinder.

Earl Louis Hebert
LAFAYETTE – A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 17, 2006 at 11 a.m. in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille for Earl Louis Hebert, age 63, who passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at his residence in Lafayette, after a year long battle with cancer.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Morrow Hebert of Lafayette; two daughters, Cydney Hebert and Cimone Hebert, both of Hammond; one son, Earl Hebert, Jr. of Breaux Bridge; his mother, Ida Lormand Hebert of Carencro; one grandchild, Jordan Hebert of Breaux Bridge; two sisters, Cheryl Ann Hebert and Jenny Menard, both of Carencro.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lester Hebert and one brother, Bobby Hebert.
A native of Leesville and a lifelong resident of Lafayette and New Orleans, Mr. Hebert was a veteran of military service, having served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam Era.
Mr. Hebert was an internationally known artist and entrepreneur. He started his business career in the grocery store business with two successful stores in the Lafayette area in the 1960’s. Mr. Hebert then turned his attention to the restaurant industry, creating the cutting edge and highly successful concept Beef & Ale Restaurant in the early 1970’s. In 1972, he conceived and founded another highly successful concept, Judge Roy Beans Saloon, Lafayette’s first singles bar and grill, which is still talked about some thirty-five years later.
In the early 1980’s, Mr. Hebert began to concentrate on his first love-his art. He began his career in art at Jackson Square in New Orleans. His unique depiction of Cajun & Creole life was an instant hit and Earl’s Joie de Vive captured the hearts and minds of all the artists as well as the international visitors. Mr. Hebert’s recently published book, "Zydeco Shoes," traces the Cajun & Creole folk lore like no other publication, combining his art, the local music and recipes of the well known local cuisine. Mr. Hebert is also characterized in a recently released movie titled "At Last," which premiered in Baton Rouge has generated a lot of attention in recently held film festivals.
Mr. Hebert will be sadly missed by family and countless friends and people who were lucky enough to work with him in his many entrepreneurial journeys.
The family has requested that visiting hours be observed Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

William Edgar (Ed) Shamblin
MIDLAND,Tx. – February 25, 2006 William Edgar Shamblin, 92, walked the path to heaven with his Lord.
Ed was born on February 22, 1914 in Center Point, Arkansas to William Edgar Shamblin and Mattie Augusta Rivers Shamblin.
He married Rose Marie Tronolone on July 3, 1943. They were married for 51 years before her death on September 20, 1994.
Ed is survived by his wife, Minnie Killmer DuBose Shamblin of Crowley; two daughters, Diane White and her husband, Elmer Dean White of Kermit, Texas and Loraine Gay Shamblin of Midland, Texas; one step daughter, Edmee DuBose of Oberlin, three step sons, Phillip DuBose of Church Point, Dr. David Dubose of Westboro, Mass., Pusher Dubose of Many, and their families.
Mr. Shamblin was proceeded in death by his mother and father; three sisters; one brother and his first wife.
Ed was a veteran of World War II, completing Officer’s Candidate School in 1943. He served in New Guinea and the Philippines in the United States Army Signal Corp from 1944-1946.
He began a job with Gulf Oil Company in 1936 and interrupted his employment for the war, returning in 1946 where he worked for 41 years until retirement in Midland on February 1, 1978.
He followed his fathers footsteps as a Mason, and was a member of the St. Luke’s Methodist Church in Midland, Texas.
Besides all of his professional accomplishments, he was most often described as a caring, devoted husband, father and a true gentleman.
Memorial services were held on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church.

CHURCH POINT – Louis Arceneaux, 69, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, March 17 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Guidry Funeral Home.

RAYNE – Maxie Meche, 74, died Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at the Veterans War Home in Jennings. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 16 at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. Duhon Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.

RAYNE – Louis Logan Jr., 79, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 at American Legion Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18 at Our Mother of Mercy Church. Burial will be in the St. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Scott under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.

Dale Smith
EUNICE – Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 16, at 10 a.m. at Ardoin’s Funeral Home Chapel for Dale Adam Smith, 80, who died Saturday, March 11, 2006 in Houston.
Rev. Winston “Diggie” Smith will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and continue Thursday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Mrs. Smith was a resident of Eunice. He was born July 29, 1925. He retired from Texaco Refinery as an electrician after 34 years, and he proudly served his country in the Navel Air Corp. Mr. Smith was also a faithful member of the North Eunice Baptist Church and will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his three sons, Michael Dale Smith and his wife, Pam of Altamonte Springs, Fla.; Robert A. Smith and his wife, Liz of Kingwood, Texas; and Jeffery Lynn Smith and his wife, Tracy of Nederland, Texas; his younger brother, Winston “Diggie” Smith and his wife, Mary of Oklahoma and their children, Chris and Shawn; his grandchildren, Micah and Barlow Smith of Altamonte Springs; Jared Smith and Emily Smith of Venghaus and her husband, Josh all of Kingwood; and Jeffery Smith Jr. and his wife, Lauren both of Nederland; and his great grandchildren, Aiden Glen Smith of Kingwood and Madison Smith of Nederland.
Mrs. Smith was preceded to Heaven by his mother and father, Winnie Olivier Smith and Adam Smith; his brother, H.T. “Shrimp” Smith; hs twin brother, Gale SMith and his sister, Winnie Smith Elchuck.

Kimberly Romero
MASSACHUSETTS – Kimberly Dempesy Romero passed away of pancreatic cancer Saturday, March 4, 2006, while surrounded by loving family in Massachusetts.
Kimberly, 46, is survived by her husband, his siblings and his mother in Louisiana and her parents and siblings in Massachusetts. In lieu of other remembrances, Kimberly has asked that contributions by made to Hospice.

CHURCH POINT – Lark Elizabeth Adams, 52, died Sunday, March 12, 2006 in Lake Charles. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at St. John Chapel. Burial will be in the St. John Cemetery under the direction of Guidry Funeral Home.

Euclide Clement
CROWLEY - Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 12, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Saint Joseph Catholic Church for Euclide Paul Clement, 91, who died Friday, March 10, 2006 in Crowley.
Fr. Mikel Polson, pastor of Saint Joseph Catholic Church will celebrate the funeral service and the Burial at Saint Joseph Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
Mr. Clement was a native of Egan, and was retired from Sun Oil Co. He served his country during WWII in the United States Army and he was a lifetime member of the American Legion. He was a member of Saint Michael’s Chapel in Egan and was very active in his community.
He is survived by two daughters, Betty C. Miller and Rose Mary Clement both of Egan; two sisters, Viola Kibodeaux of Rayne and Ella Mae Richard of Sulphur; six grandchildren, Keith and Maria Miller of Egan, Denise and Tim Huval of Egan, Alfred and Connie Miller of Crowley, Chantelle and Jason Williamson of Woodville, Texas, Ben and Monica Clement of Woodville, Texas and Tory Clement of West Virginia, 11 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two wives, Rose Sensat Clement and Lola Janise Clement; two sons, E.J. Clement and John Paul Clement; an infant daughter; four brothers, William, David, Isaac and Gilbert Clement; three sisters, Emily Myers, Rosa Belle Davy; an infant sister and one great granddaughter, Dionne Huval.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. Sunday until time of Service.

Ginger Comeaux
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Monday, March 13, at 11 a.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Ginger Claire Gass Comeaux, 48, who died Friday, March 10, 2006 at her residence.
Rev. Lloyd Chaddick will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Elizabeth Memorial Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Sunday from 3 p.m until 10 p.m. and continue Monday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include her three sons, Marcus Hoffpauir and his wife, Susan of Eunice; Jacob Comeaux of Crowley; and Joshua Comeaux and his wife, Crystal of Rayne; two daughters, Tonya LeJeune and her husband, Edward of Rayne; and Danielle Bertrand and her husband Caleb of Crowley; three brothers, Steven, David Gass of Denton, Texas and Daniel Gass of Kurm, Texas; three sisters, Karen Gass of Roberts Cove and Rebecca Gass of Baton Rouge; and six grandchildren, Sommer, Nichole and Dillon LeJeune, Skylar and C.J. Hoffpauir and Landon Comeaux.
Ms. Comeaux was preceded in death by her parents, Sadie Gass and Raymond Jay Gass; and one brother Brady Gass.

Calpurnia H. Meredith
CROWLEY – A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, March 13, 2006 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Lyons Point, for Calpurnia "Cal" Hargrave Meredith, 76, who died Friday, March 10, 2006 at 1 a.m. at St. James Place Nursing Home in Baton Rouge.
Father David Broussard will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Hanks Cemetery. The family requests visiting hours be observed Sunday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and continue Monday from 8 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Carolyn Hargrave; nieces and nephews, Aleah Hargrave, Michel Hargrave, Debra and James Hanvy, Kathy and Paul Meredith, David and Kathy Meredith; seven great nieces and nephews; and godchildren, Marsha Houtz and Bryan Istre.
She enjoyed the friendship and company of many close relatives and friends, especially Lillian Istre, Earleen and Jerry Ruonacaara, Lynnette Lacombe, Amanda Istre, Cedric Istre, Janice LeJeune, Una Mae Hargrave, Virginia Cormier, Vi and Don Sullivan and Vera Mire.
Mrs. Meredith was born April 29, 1929 in Acadia Parish to Philip Hargrave and Flavie Thibodeaux Hargrave, graduated from Morse High School in 1946 and married January 8, 1949 in Mermentau, Louisiana to Hosea Basil Meredith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her brother Lee Hargrave.
She had a long career in the insurance business, including over twenty years as Office Manager of Al Houtz Agency in Houma. She loved to travel and fly her airplane. She was an early and long time member of the Louisiana Chapter of the Ninety-Nines, an International Organization of women pilots, a member of the Terrebonne Parish Flying Posse, a member of the American Business Women’s Association in Houma and Baton Rouge and a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Baton Rouge.
The family wishes to express special appreciation to Sharon Ballard for her friendship and care for over twenty years and to the nursing staffs of St. James Place ME and Hospice of Baton Rouge for their loving care for the past four months during her struggle with cancer.
Pallbearers will be Cedric Istre, August Hargrave, Floyd Hargrave, Darrell Sullivan, Kyle Guilbeau, Oran Richard and Bryan Istre.

CROWLEY – Gertrude Hoffman, 78, died Saturday, March 11, 2006 at her residence. Funeral services are pending for Monday afternoon, March 13. Burial will be in the Acadia Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home.

RAYNE – Donna Elizabeth Savoie, 52, died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Rayne Guest Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne is in charge of arrangements.

Gary Godeaux
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 1 p.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Mermentau, LA for Gary Paul Godeaux, 53, who died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at 11 a.m. in Crowley.
Msgr. Russell Harrington will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial and the graveside services at Estherwood Cemetery. He will also lead the Rosary at 7 p.m. Friday.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until 11 p.m. and continue on Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Godeaux is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sheila Cormier Godeaux of Midland; two daughters, Kayla Godeaux Hoffpauir of Midland; and Kylie Godeaux Schmaltz and her husband, "Chuck" of Estherwood; three loving grandchildren, Macy Paige Hoffpauir, Lily Claire Hoffpauir and Gabe Joseph Schmaltz; three sisters, Shelby Maris and Gay Guidry of Mermentau, and Coreada Hoffpauir of Roberts Cove; and two brothers, Gerald Godeaux and Willie Godeaux of Mermentau.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Eudia Godeaux of Mermentau and his father-in-law, Junior Cormier of Midland.
Gary was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was full of life and loved being around people. Everyone he met became his friend.
Gary was a past Grand Knight of KC Council #5499; he was a present a member of KC Council #4791.
Gary was presently serving as vice-president of the newly formed Southwest Acadia Water Corporation. He played a vital role in getting that water system started.
Gary coached girls softball for many years and served as president of the Estherwood and Morse Little League.
Gary was a member of the Evangeline Bass Busters and the B.A.S.S. Federation. He had a great love for the sports of fishing and hunting. He also guided for the Gueydan Hunting Club.
With that said, nothing held a place in his heart like the sport of basketball. Gary has always been remembered by his high school basketball career. The Midland Rebel # 33 player so many have never forgotten now passed away 33 years after his high school career ended.
Gary fought a hard battle with cancer for 32 months. His strength, determination, strong will to live and wonderful attitude made that battle possible.
Gary worked for PPG Industries in Lake Charles for 26 years as an insulator. Along with his employment at PPG, he was also a member of the PPG Emergency Squad for many years. He was also a union member of Local #470.

Nola Broussard
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2006, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Nola Abshire Broussard, 56, who died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at her residence in Crowley.
Rev. Loyd Singley, Pastor of Northside Assembly of God, will conduct the services and the burial at Abshire Cemetery.
Mrs. Broussard was survived by her husband, Leroy Broussard of Crowley; four sons, Leroy Broussard Jr., Joseph Broussard, Willard Broussard and Jamie Broussard all of Crowley; two daughters, Samantha Broussard of Crowley and Lousister Stevens of Mermentau; four brothers, Amos Abshire of Crowley, Bobby Smith of Crowley, Irvin Abshire of Lyons Point and Damers Abshire of Jennings; and four sisters, Jeanette Hebert of Krotz Springs, Lois Fontenot of Iota, Margie Lormand of Crowley and Yvonne Welch of Morse.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivy and Nola Abshire; one brother John Ray Abshire and one sister, Lee Anna Wheaton.
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. Thursday until 10 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until service time.

Olive Duhon
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 10, at 4 p.m. at Roberts Cove Church of Christ for Olive Jeannette Duhon, 75, who died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 in Crowley.
Sterling Shinn will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Roberts Cove Cemetery.
Survivors include four step-children, Dale Duhon of Aiken, S.C., Bonnie Duhon McCracken of St. Louis, Mo., DeVonia Duhon Bolch of Oklahoma City, and Sherwood Duhon of Scottsdale, Ariz; eight step-grandchildren, Tiffany Falconer, Chad McCracken, Alex McCracken, Desiree Bolch, Dillin Duhon and Paige Duhon; and Preston and Mary Nell Duhon of Crowley.
Ms. Duhon was preceded in death by her husband, Remi Duhon; and her parents Walter and Jennie Huffaker.
Memorials can be made to Roberts Cove Church of Christ.

Mamie Breaux
MERMENTAU – Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday March 11, 2006 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Mermentau for Mamie Lougnion Breaux, 90, who died Wednesday, March 8, 2006 in Crowley, LA.
Interment will be in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery in Mermentau.
The Rev. Donald Pousson will conduct the service.
Mrs. Breaux a native of Mermentau, Louisiana, was born October 30, 1915 and had been residing at the Crowley Guest House, for the last two years. Mrs. Breaux was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Mermentau and had belonged to the Catholic Daughter’s Society.
Survivors include one son, Michael L. Breaux and daughter-in-law, Pat Breaux of Crowley; daughter-in-law, Marie Thibodeaux Harris of Bridge City, Texas; five grandchildren, Kristie Connally of Dallas, Texas; Duane Breaux of Bridge City, Texas; Monica Arends of Dallas, Texas; Aimee Brantley of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Eric Breaux of Lafayette; three step-grandchildren, Gretchen LeJeune of Lafayette; Nicole Grimmer of Crowley; and Brent Martin of Bridge City, Texas; and several great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Dean Breaux; her son, Robert Edwin Breaux; her mother, Cora Badon Lougnion; her father, Andrew Lougnion; one brother, Oran Lougnion; and one sister, Eve L. Schexnayder.
The family has requested that visitation begin Friday 2:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. and continue Saturday 8 a.m. until time of service.
A rosary will be prayed Friday 7 p.m. recited by Russell Myers in the funeral home.

Debra Ann Suire Wilkins
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 9, 2006 at 10 a.m. in Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Debra Ann Suire Wilkins, 40, who died Tuesday, March 7, 2006 at 9:10 a.m. in Lafayette, LA.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will be the celebrant and conduct the graveside services at Woodlawn cemetery.
The Rosary was prayed Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.
Debra attended Redemptorist Grade School, graduated from Crowley High School and the Acadia Vocational Education School; she was currently attending and a senior at Lafayette Technical College. She was a 1985 candidate of the Miss Crowley Pageant and was chosen Miss Congeniality. She loved to swim and play racquet ball.
Debra is survived by a daughter, McKaylah R. Suire of Crowley, her parents, Anthony and Charlotte T. Suire, Jr. of Crowley, three sisters, Delana B. Rouse of Morse, Brigette C. Boudreaux of Mermentau and Kayla B. Schexnayder of Morse, a sister by choice, Deborah Lejeune and one Godchild, Ashley Guillot, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David W. Wilkins, her mother, Mary Jane Weekly Suire, her maternal grandfather, N. T. Weekly, maternal grandmother, Mary Irene Jeffers Weekly and her paternal grandparents, Anthony and Rita D. Suire, Sr.

LAKE CHARLES – Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 8, at 12 p.m. in Hixson Chapel for Corine Richard Robinson, 81, who died Sunday, March 5, 2006 in Lake Charles.
Burial was in Maxie Cemetery. Visiting hours were observed Tuesday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and continued Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca Maddox and her husband, Steven of Sulphur; and Josie Robinson of Sulphur; her grand puppy, Rufus and grand cats, Earnhardt, Allison and Happy.
Ms. Robinson was preceded in death by her parents, Adam Richard and Nora Stark Richard; one brother, Aaron Richard; and one sister, Dorothy Moncrief.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Woods of Crowley; her six sisters, Eva Mae Williams of Port Arthur, Texas; Mary A.
