MILTON – Ruddy Junius LeBlanc, 49, died Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28, 2005 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Syrie Funeral Home.

LAFAYETTE – LouAnna “Trudy” Joseph, 72, died May 20, 2005. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Syrie Funeral Home.

Mechelle J. Toby
CROWLEY- Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28 at 11 a.m. at Israelite Baptist Church for Mechelle Joetta Toby, 46, who passed away Sunday, May 22, 2005 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Rev. Ivan J. Lewis will officiate at the services. Interment will be in West Crowley Cemetery.
She is survived by her father, Hercules A. Toby and wife Ethel of Crowley; her sister, Jackie Alexander and husband Herbert; her paternal grandmother, Mary R. Toby; her godchild, Adia Keys and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois W. Toby; her paternal grandfather, Joseph Toby and her maternal grandparents, Arthur and Estella Cahee White.
Visitation will be observed Saturday, May 28, 2005 at Israelite Baptist Church from 8 a.m. until time of services.

Claby J. Seaux
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27 at 3 p.m. Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Claby Joseph Seaux, 79, who died Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at the Crowley Guest House.
Father Gary Schexnayder will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Hanks Cemetery in Morse.
Visiting hours will be observed Friday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary was recited Thursday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Nola Seaux of Rayne; two sons, Joseph Roy Seaux of Rogers, Ohio and Raymond James Seaux of Lafayette; three daughters, Mary Sherline Seaux of Roberts Cove, Sally Ancelet of Roberts Cove and Jane Sarver of Crowley; two brothers, Leo Seaux of Crowley and Gene Seaux of Crowley; one sister, Bertha Seaux of Crowley; 15 grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one step-daughter, Melba Benoit of Lafayette; three step-grandchildren and four step-great grandchildren.
Mr. Seaux was preceded in death by his first wife, Rena LaFousse: his parents, Henry and Louise Cormier Seaux; four brothers, Clopha, Abbey, Henry and Limon Seaux and three sisters, Evalla Cormier, Beulah Schexnayder and Ella Prejean.
Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley has been entrusted with the arrangements.

Patty Bee Nugent
CROWLEY – Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 27 at the First Presbyterian Church for Patty Bee Nugent, 78, of Crowley, who died Tuesday, May 24 at Our Lady of the Lake Hospital in Baton Rouge.
Rev. Van A. Stinson of the First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge will officiate. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
A prayer service was led by the Pink Ladies Auxiliary Thursday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will be observed Friday at 8 a.m. until the time of service.
She is survived by two sons, William Edward Nugent of Charlottsville, Va., John Robert Nugent and wife Carole Jo of Baton Rouge; one daughter, Celeste Nugent Dolan and husband Thomas Dolan of Coppell, Texas; five grandchildren, Patrick Edward Nugent, Sara
Kathleen Nugent, Charles Edward Nugent, Claire Beatrice Dolan and James Edward Dolan and two sisters Beverly Ann Ducrest and Gloria Gray of Crowley.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Nugent.
Patty Bee graduated from the Southwestern Louisiana Institute (University of Louisiana at Lafayette) with a bachelor’s degree and the University of Houston with a master’s degree in government. She gave generously of her time and energy by participating in the First Presbyterian Church as an elder and with the World Mission Organization. She was a past president of the Pink Ladies Auxiliary. She was very active with the Crowley Christian Care Center and instrumental in establishing the recycling efforts in Crowley. She was a member of the Crowley Art Association. She was also an avid baseball fan. Her hobbies were gardening, reading, traveling, sewing and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Roland Dartez, Don Foster, Miles Frank, Tommy Freeland, Jimmy Landry and James Trahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Gall, Ricky Stoma, Patrick Nugent, Dunman Foster, G.J. Ducrest and Matthew Trahan.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Crowley Christian Care Center, the Acadia Parish Library and the Pink Ladies Auxiliary.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home.

Leo Matte Jr.
LAKE CHARLES – Funeral services will be held Friday, May 27 at St. John Bosco Catholic Church of Westlake for Leo Matte Jr, 66, who died Tuesday, May 24, 2005, in a Lafayette Hospital.
Father David Broussard will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Westlake Memorial Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at the funeral home Thursday at 7 p.m. Visitation will be Thursday from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday at 8 a.m. until time of service.
He moved to Basile from Westlake. He was a retired Millright from the lake area plants.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; his daughter, Patty Victory and her husband Loren of Westlake; his step-children, Zachary Cart and his wife Paula of Iota, Ellis Cart and his wife Phyllis of Iota, Kayla Short and her husband Danny of Iota and Michelle Lafleur and her husband Carl of Basile; his brothers, Clarence "Bobby" Matte of Pasadena, Texas, Jester Matte of San Jose, Calif. and Felix Matte of Lafayette; his sisters, Dorothy Hebert of Jennings, Doris Menard of Lafayette and Mary "Pinky" Young of Jennings; three grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Cecilia Sensat Matte; his parents, Leo and Bernice Matte and his sister, Betty Ann Keller.

Mae G. Dupuis
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28 at 10 a.m. Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Mae G. Dupuis, 83, who died Thursday, May 26, 2005 at the American Legion Hospital.
Burial will be in Hanks Cemetery of Morse. Visiting hours will be observed Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday at 8 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include one daughter, Bonnie Doucet of Duson; one son, Peter G. Dupuis of Alaska; one brother, Ovey Guidry Jr. of Crowley; nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Ms. Dupuis was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Dupuis; her parents, Ovey and Emira Hargrave Guidry Sr.; one brother, William Guidry; one sister, Eva Hargrave and one granddaughter, Christine Doucet.

RAYNE – Clifton Maurice Dupont, 80 died Sunday, May 22, 2005 in Lafayette. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 26 at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Mausoleum under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home.

CECILIA – Herbert J. Journet, 65, died Saturday, May 21, 2005 at Promise Speciality Hospital of Baton Rouge. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 26 at noon at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Syrie Funeral Home.

Hershel Richard
RAYNE – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25 at 4 p.m. at Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church in Branch for Hershel Richard, 78, who died Monday, May 23, 2005 at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Rev. Brian Hoteling will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Elizabeth Memorial Cemetery in Branch. Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of Elizabeth Memorial Baptist Church in Branch.
Survivors include his wife, Lorella "Bea" Richard of Branch; one son, Jay Richard and wife Mel of Branch; one daughter, Diane Gilbert and husband Wyatt of Branch; two sisters, Mary Leger and Edith Wyatt of Branch; three grandchildren, Ashlie Moore, Brandon and Jessie Gilbert and Taylor Richard and two great grandchildren, Dax Moore and Beaux Moore.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Maddeline Matte and Walter Richard; three brothers, Leslie Hillman and Wesley Richard and one sister, Lena Richard.

Lamberto F. Socorro
MIAMI, FLA. – Funeral services were held in Miami for Lamberto Fernando Socorro, 84, who died Monday, May 16, 2005 in Crowley at the American Legion Hospital.
The Mass of Christian burial was held at Saint Raymond Catholic Church and the burial followed in Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery, both in Miami.
Mr. Socorro was born in Havana, Cuba to the late Raymon and Maria Espelosin Socorro.
He is survived by his wife, Consuelo de Leon Socorro of Crowley; three daughters, Arlene Rozo and her husband Omar of Miami, Marcia Socorro of Miami and Leonor Gonzalez and her husband Dr. John Gonzalez of Crowley; two sons, Fernando Socorro of California and Jose de la Nuez and his wife Lourdes of Miami; one brother, Roberto Socorro of Miami and one sister, Librada Socorro of Cuba and six grandchildren, Vanessa, Johnathon, Cristina, Danny, David and Catherine.

CROWLEY – Leona Runnels, 93, died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at the American Legion Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 24 at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jasper, Texas under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home.

Ruth R. Precht
JENNINGS – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25 at 3 p.m. at Jennings United Methodist Church for Ruth Robertson Precht, 86, who died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at the Jennings American Legion Hospital.
Rev. Wayne Taylor and Dick Scott will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. when the body will be taken to the church.
Mrs. Precht was a native of Iota and a graduate of Iota High School. She was a resident of Jennings for five years after moving from Sweet Lake. She was a homemaker, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Jennings United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Dwight Precht of Jennings; three daughters, Carolyn Marks of Jennings, Mary Beth Tilley and husband James of Toledo Bend and Kayla Ruth Fournerat and husband Gerald of Lake Charles; three sons, Charles Dwight Precht Jr. and wife Charleen of Iota, James "Jimmy" Precht and wife Linda of Jennings and Thomas Dwain "Tom" Precht and wife Kim of Jennings; 17 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Parker and Allie Maude Warnick Robertson; three brothers, James, Melvin and Carl "Speck" Robertson; one sister, Jo Anne Ginn; two grandchildren, Michael Tilley and Joshua Thomas Precht and one son-in-law, Roy Marks.
The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Patrick Griffith, Dr. Brian Wilder, Stevie VanHook and the nursing staff in the ICU of the Jennings hospital for their kindness and care.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25 at 2 p.m. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Bertha Nolan, 74, who died Sunday, May 22, 2005 in Crowley.
Father Avelino Vale will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Nolan of Crowley; three sons, Don Nolan Branson, Mo., Gene Nolan of Crowley and Robert Nolan of Vidor, Texas; one daughter, Carol Jane Nolan of Donsville, N.Y.; one sister, Stella Cormier of Vidella; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Albert Nolan; her parents, Elton and Cecile Abshire Breaux; one brother Elton Breaux Jr. and one sister, Mary Jane Patin.

Edward J. Prejean Jr.
RAYNE - Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 24 at a Mass of Christian burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Edward John Prejean Jr., 81, who died May 21, 2005 at his residence in Crowley.
Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum in Crowley.
Survivors include his wife, Bertha Barbier Prejean of Crowley; two daughters, June Schmid of Lafayette, Phyllis Crawford of Rayne; two sons, Bob Prejean of Jennings, Michael Prejean of Rayne; four grandchildren, two great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Edward John Prejean and Clarise Viator Prejean; one sister, Helen Moore; one brother, Elton Prejean.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday.
The family requested that the visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time.

Margie H. Horton
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25 at 10 a.m. at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Margie Henry Horton, 52, who died Sunday, May 22, 2005 at the American Legion Hospital.
Deacon Rodless Leleux will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include one daughter, Alecia Henry of Crowley; two sons, Carlton Henry of Kaplan and Chris Hamilton of Lamoore, Calif.; one brother, Dan Smith of West Columbia, Texas and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Ethel Hantsche Smith.

LAFAYETTE – Opal Keene Simon, 90, died Friday, May 20, 2005 at her residence in Lafayette. There will be no funeral services. She donated her body to medical research.

Alvin J. “Sonny”Sittig
LAFAYETTE – Funeral services will be held Monday, May 23, 2005, at 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Christians Catholic Church of Jennings for Alvin J. “Sonny” Sittig, 82, who died Friday, May 20, 2005 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital of Lafayette.
Rev. Edward Brunnert will officiate for the services. The visitation will be observed Sunday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services. Pallbearers will be Jason Faul, Todd Sittig, Chad Sitting, Howard Suire, Joshua Mire and Marty Mire. Honorary Pallbearers will be Stoney Sittig, Cody Sittig, Cameron Sittig, Justin Sittig, Brodie Robin, Hunter Wills and Bryce Landry. A rosary will be held Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.
Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with full military rites.
Survivors include his wife, Verbie Richard Sittig of Lafayette; two sons, Steven “Boo Boo” Sittig and his wife, Norma of Lake Charles, Stoney Sittig of Lafayette; three daughters, Minerva Thibodeaux and her husband, Hanson of Roanoke, Brenda Sittig Faul and her husband, Jason of Lafayette, Vivian Lee Mire of Duson; one brother, Douglas “Beo” Sittig and his wife, Rita of Jennings; three sisters, Esther Mae Teele and her husband, Leroy of Elton, Rosabell Grimsley of Clearwater, FL, Dorothy Lee Roussell of Lafayette; ten grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and six step grandchildren, one step special granddaughter, Jeanette LaVergne and her husband Al and their two children of Duson.
Mr. Sitting was a native of Evangeline and a resident of Lafayette. He served in WWII in the Navy. He was employed with Marathon Drilling Company as a drilling superintendent. He loved traveling, hunting, camping, fishing and gardening. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the V.F.W. Post, the Jennings American Legion and the Shriners.

YOUNGSVILLE – Walter Joseph Girouard, 89, died Monday, May 16, 2005 at Amelia Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Syrie Funeral Home, Inc.

LAFAYETTE – Anthony Solomon Sr., 54, died Monday, May 16, 2005 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m. at the Memorial Chapel of Syrie Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery in Cade under the direction of Syrie Funeral Home, Inc.

Shannon T. Stockman
JENNINGS – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 20 at Matthews and Son Funeral Home for Shannon Todd Stockman, 35, who died Monday, May 16, 2005 in Oakley, Wyo. Interment will be in Tee-Mamou Cemetery. Rev. Chad Brown will conduct the service.
Mr. Stockman was a native of Jennings and a resident of Rayne. He was employed with Nabors Drilling for four years. He loved being with his family, fishing, swimming at the beach and working.
Survivors include his wife, Dana M. Stockman of Rayne; four sons, Chance Stockman, Cade Stockman and Drakenin Leckelt, all of Rayne and Jacob Authement of Jennings; his mother, Nora L. DeRamus of Rayne; two brothers, Lawrence Stockman and his wife Michelle of Basile and Stevie Joe Stockman of Jennings; one godchild, Bethany Stockman; five nephews and six nieces.
His is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Stockman and his grandparents, Wedley LeJeune and Lismar Deshotel Guillory.
Visitation began Thursday 11 a.m. and will continued until time of service Friday.

Catherine T. Stamm
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 11a.m. Saturday, May 21 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Catherine Toon Stamm, 83, who died May 18, 2005 at her residence in Crowley following a long battle with colon cancer.
Rev. Bob Hollis will be officiating for the services. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mrs. Stamm was a native of Crowley and former resident of Rayne. She was a 45 year employee of the Supreme Rice Mill. Mrs. Stamm was a former member of the Three Ten Club and the Rayne Garden Club.
She is survived by her husband, Steve M. Stamm of Crowley; one son, Paul E. Fremaux of Metairie; two step-children, Steve Gary Stamm of Baton Rouge and Susan S. Kuhlmann of Prairieville; two sisters, Barbara T. Geesey of Crowley and Mary Ruth T. Newton of The Woodlands, Texas; and two grandchildren, Brian P. and Christopher E. Fremaux of Katy, Texas.
Mrs. Stamm was preceded in death by her parents, J.L. Toon and Lilliam Lyons Toon Bartell.
Visitation will be observed Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Acadiana: 2600 Johnston St. Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA 70503-3240.

CHURCH POINT – Moise Lavergne Jr., 67, died Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at Lafayette General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 20 at St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton. Burial will be in the St. Charles Catholic Cemetery in Grand Coteau under the direction of Guidry Funeral Home.

Joseph A. Pete Sr.
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21 at 11 a.m. at Israelite Baptist Church for Joseph Allen Pete Sr., 93, who died Friday, May 13, 2005 at the American Legion Hospital. Rev. Ivan Lewis will conduct the services. Interment will be in West Crowley Cemetery.
Mr. Pete was a native of Crowley, a member of the Israelite Baptist Church and was a self-employed barber for 50 years. He was the first African-American to serve as a city councilman in the state of Louisiana.
He is survived by three daughters, Evelyn Pete Pleasure of Hamden, Conn., Gloria Pete Batiste and Delores Pete Owens of Eunice; ten grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; two sons-in-law, Roy Batiste and Alvin Owens Sr. of Eunice; one daughter-in-law, Verlie Pete of Albany, Ga.; one sister-in-law, Ethel P. Dorsey of Lafayette; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Grace Poullard Pete; one son, J. Allen Pete, Jr.; his parents, Milton and Louise Pete; one sister, Ethel P. Duncan and two brothers, Lucius Pete and Milton Pete Jr.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Friday, May 20 at 11:30 a.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Joyce Guidry Meaux, 66, who died Tuesday, May 17, 2005 at the Crowley Guest House.

Mrs. Meaux was preceded in death by her husband, Huey Allen Meaux; son, Ryan Allen Meaux and her parents, Gaston and Eula Chaisson Guidry.

RAYNE – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 18 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for May Prejean Breaux, 91, who died Sunday at the American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Survivors include seven daughters, Brunella Potier of Scott, Audrey and Raleigh Miller of Iota, Roudel Meaux and Ralan Rozas of Basile, Bercie and John Alleman of Duson, Earline and Gerald Miller of Eunice, Gloria Sanchez of Duson, and Linda and Raylin Alleman of Rayne; two sisters, Mary June Prejean of Rayne and Effie Thibodeaux of Lafayette; 22 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Benton "Ban" Breaux; her parents, Valerin and Althea Prejean; one son-in-law Dudley Potier; one grandchild, Kelvin Meaux; two brothers, Francis and Raoul Prejean, three sisters Loycie Prejean, Lillie Savoie and Ludy Terro.
Mrs. May will be remembered for the way she always opened her home to family and friends and for her delicious cooking and baking of cinnamon rolls. She was a great example of a mother’s love in the way she always put her family before herself. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Pallbearers will be her 11 grandson’s Duane Potier, Kevin Potier, Edgar Credeur, Ricky Meaux, Dion Alleman, Jody Alleman, Andrew Tate, Wyatt Tate, Benton Tate, Jonathan Sanchez and Ryan Alleman.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until services.
Burial will be in the St. Jose\ph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

LeRoy J. Richard
TITUSVILLE, FLA. – Rev. LeRoy J. Richard, 67, was born in Morse August 26, 1937 and departed this life May 14, 2005 in Titusville, Fla. from cancer of the esophagus. He was an ordained Bishop in the Church of God. Rev. Richard resided in Mims, Fla. He pastored several churches over the past 45 years including some in Texas as well as Lake Brevard and Hillsborough counties and most recently the Scottsmoor Church of God.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Georganna Richard; a son, Christopher and his wife Gloria of Mims; a daughter, Sue Ann McCullough and her husband Mike of Cocoa, Fla.; four grandsons, Michael McCullough of Port St. John, Christopher Richard of Miami and Daniel and Mark Richard, both of Orlando, Fla.
Rev. Richard had many friends and extended family members; including a "spiritual daughter" for the last 30 years, Susan Lynn and her husband Larry of Lady Lake, Fla. He is also survived by a brother, Roger Richard of Duson and sister, Mae Rose Lejeune of Rayne.
He is preceded by his father Alphia, mother Beulah and brother, Stanley.
Funeral services will be held at the Titusville Church of God Wednesday, May 18, 2005 with viewing at 10 a.m. and services 11 a.m. Graveside service will be at Brevard Memorial Park in Frontenac, Fla.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 17 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Wilton Joseph Touchet, 86, who died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Southwind Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Fr. Rusty Richard, pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary, will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with Rev. Loyd Singley officiating.
Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 8 a.m. to service time. A rosary was recited Monday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys Morgan Touchet of Crowley; two step-daughters, Janella Wright of New Orleans and Wynola Plotts of Phoenix, Ariz.; one step-son, Carlton Dale Fontenot of Indian Bayou; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Touchet was a native of Duson and a resident of Crowley. He was the counter manager for Green’s Hardware for over 43 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Myra Mier Touchet; his first wife, Helen Jabusch Touchet and his siblings, Louis, Louisa, Caliste, Sadie, Lula, Rena, Elmo, Antoine and Tally.
Pallbearers will be Val Trahan, Darvis Trahan, Jory Plotts, Charles Broussard, Larry Rayon and Woody Laurent.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 18 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Laura Deshotels Regan, 56, who was brought into this world on March 8, 1949 and called home to live with the Lord on May 15, 2005 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family and friends after a courageous battle with liver disease.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. Burial will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery.

EBENEZER – Services for Dorothy Belle Faulk, 91, of Tyler, Texas, formerly of Beaumont, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Thursday, May 12 at Marvin United Methodist Church Chapel with Dr. Michael Dent officiating. Graveside service will be in Ebenezer Cemetery at 11 a.m. Saturday under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home, with Rev. Truman Stagg officiating. Mrs. Faulk died May 9 in Tyler.
Mrs. Faulk was born April 1, 1914 in Morgan City to the late Erasmus Davies and Ida May Ousse Wriborg. She was a dedicated minister’s wife for 71 years and a homemaker, a member of United Methodist Women’s Bible Studies, she organized Bible programs, and she was a noted book reviewer and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 71 years the late Rev. C. W. Faulk Sr. and sister, Evelyn Rue Swann.
She is survived by son, Clayborne Willard Faulk Jr. of Tyler; daughters, Geraldine Edwards of Tyler and Norma Ott and husband Quentin of Tyler; sister, Lois Wriborg Borne and husband Dr. Hollis Boren of Terry, Miss.; sister-in-law, Rita Faulk of Ebenezer; seven grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Friday, May 13 at 10 a.m. at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church for Dorothy Hebert Helo, 76, who passed away quietly Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Mrs. Helo was a native of Kaplan. She was the wife of Crowley native Kermit G. Helo Sr., her husband of 55 years.
Mrs. Helo was preceded in death by her mother Rose Faulk Hebert, her father O.G. Hebert, and three sisters Juanita Scelfo of Franklin, Rita Moreland of Abbeville, and her twin sister Doris Guidry of Delcambre.
Mrs. Helo is survived by her husband Kermit; one brother, Jimmy Hebert of Lafayette; three sisters, Florence Kite of Kaplan, Patricia Comeaux of Broussard and Gayle Delcambre of New Iberia; two daughters, Freida Helo Alleman and her husband Donald and Janet Helo Stelly and her husband Stephen; four sons, Kermit Helo Jr. and his wife Donna, Robert Helo and his wife Patty, Ronald Helo and his wife Monica and Thomas Helo and his wife Connie, all of Crowley. Mrs. Mayfield died saturday, April 30, 2005 in California. She was born in Crowley and lived most of her life in California. She graduated from St. Theresa Middle School.

He was general manager of Oak Creed Homes of New Iberia for three years. He loved to play golf. He was a member of the Body of Christ Ministry Church in Church Point and served as youth pastor. He had a deep love for God. He was a loving husband, father and brother which will be sadly missed.

Survivors include two daughters, Delores Gaspard and Mona Bourque, both of Morse; one brother, Milton Foreman of Lafayette; two sisters, Elcie Williams and her husband, George of Round Rock, Texas, Mary Cormier and her husband Darren of Crowley; four grandchildren, Eddie Touchet, Keisha Gaspard, Tameka Bourque and Michael Bourque Jr.; four great grandchildren, Makayla, Madison, Victoria and Devon.
Visiting hours will be observed Saturday 10 a.m until 10 p.m. and to continue Sunday 8 a.m. until time of service.

Maria Roy Martin
LAKE ARTHUR – Funeral services for Maria Roy Martin, 87, will be held at noon, Saturday, May 7 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur with Rev. Clyde Thomas officiating.
Burial will be in Andrus Cove Cemetery under the direction of Miguez Funeral Rome of Lake Arthur.
Funeral home visitation will be observed from Friday 10:30 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service. A rosary will be recited by the Catholic Daughters Friday at 7 p.m.
Mrs. Martin died at 6:04 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2005 in the Jennings American Legion Hospital.
Native and lifelong resident of Andrus Cove, Mrs. Martin was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church
She is survived by one daughter, Mary L. and her husband A. J. Guidry of Andrus Cove; four sons, Wilfred L. Martin and his wife Mable of Andrus Cove, M.J. Martin and his wife Yvonne of Andrus Cove, Ben Martin Jr. and his wife Pamela of Andrus Cove and Donald R. Martin and wife Paula of Crowley; 22 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Martin, Sr., one daughter, Martha M. LeGros; two brothers, Eugene and Adam Roy; her parents, Martin and Lucienne Roy and a grandson, Chad Martin.

VILLE PLATTE – Murle “Coach Mac” McClelland, 80, died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Ville Platte. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 6 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Ville Platte. Burial will be in the church mausoleum under the direction of David Funeral Home of New Iberia.

IOTA – Funeral services will be held Friday, May 6 at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Egan for Leland Benoit, 71, who died Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at his residence.
Fr. David Broussard will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Sensat Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include five daughters, Sandra Perry and her husband Mike of Colorado Springs, Colo., Kathy Richard and her husband A. B. “Buddy” of Jennings, Jennifer Laseter and her husband John of Gueydan, Charlotte Foreman and her husband Brian of Crowley, Devan Guidry and her husband Benji of Marietta, Ga; three sons, Michael Benoit and his wife Genevieve of Lafayette, John Benoit of Egan, Fred Benoit and his wife Jenny of Egan; 24 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Mr. Benoit was preceded in death by his wife, Gracie G. Benoit; one daughter, Bobbie Benoit; one son, Kenneth Benoit; one grandson, Bubba Laseter and his parents, Jean and Anna Louise Cropper Benoit.

Marian Bean Lewis Broadhurst
CROWLEY – A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 4, 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church in Crowley for Marian Bean Lewis Broadhurst, age 95, who died May 2, 2005. Burial will be held in the Old Crowley Cemetery. Father John Clark of Trinity Episcopal Church of Crowley, Father Craig Gates of Church of the Nativity of Greenwood, Mississippi and Father Ralph Howe of Episcopal School of Baton Rouge will jointly preside over the services. Visitation will take place at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
A native and life-long resident of Crowley, Mrs. Broadhurst was born on October 4, 1909. She graduated from Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans and later married Robert C. Broadhurst Sr. Mr. Broadhurst was a graduate of West Point Military Academy in 1926 and later moved to Crowley where he became a successful Certified Public Accountant and served on the Crowley City Council and as a member of the Louisiana Tax Commission. Mrs. Broadhurst was a homemaker and an active member of many social and civic clubs, including the Daughters of the American Revolution and served as the first female Senior Warden of the Vestry of Trinity Episcopal Church. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend. Her grace and kindness touched and comforted all that knew her. She will be deeply missed by all.
Mrs. Broadhurst is survived by her sons, Robert C. Broadhurst, Jr. of Houston and William C. Broadhurst and his wife Nancy de la Houssaye of New Orleans; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents, John Hiram Lewis, Sr., born in Edgefield County, South Carolina and Allie Johnson, born in Nashville, Tennessee. Her mother and father were early settlers of Crowley where Mr. Lewis, an educator, served on the board of alderman in the late 1890’s and later in 1900 founded Crowley University School also known as the Lewis University School and became Superintendent of Schools of Acadia Parish in 1906.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers John Hiram Lewis Jr., Gwyn May Lewis, and Charles Sidney Lewis Sr. and one sister Ruth Curry Lewis.
Pallbearers are Trey Broadhurst, Charlie S. Lewis, Jr., David Andrus, Joey Mouton, Bill de la Houssaye and Alan de la Houssaye. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Trinity Episcopal Church Educational Fund, P.O. Box 342, Crowley, Louisiana, 70527-0342.

Nedia B. Boudreaux
RAYNE – Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 4 at 2 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Nedia Baronet Boudreaux, 94, who died Sunday, May 1, 2005 at her residence.
Survivors include one son, Martin Boudreaux Jr. of Crowley; two daughters, Mary Alice Cormier of Lafayette and Ruth Collins of Lafayette; two sisters, Agnes Breaux and Aglise Kober, both of Crowley; two brothers, Joe Baronet of Crowley and Percy Baronet of Leland, Miss. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Boudreaux was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Boudreaux Sr.; one son, Robert Boudreaux; her parents, Jules and Theresa Plaisance Baronet; one sister, and three brothers.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday evening and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Noemie L. Monceaux
KAPLAN - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3 at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian burial in Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church honoring the life of Noemie LaPointe Monceaux, 99, who died May 1, 2005 at Kaplan Health Care.
She will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery. Reverend Lloyd Benoit Jr. will officiate at the services.
She is survived by two sons, Dalton Monceaux of Crowley and Purvis Monceaux of Kaplan; one daughter, Bertile Hebert of Kaplan; nine grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Deusar “T.T.” Monceaux, six brothers, Adonis, Meance, Marctial, Thomas Jr., Molear and Oday LaPointe, six sisters, Adonia Bertrand, Azilda Trahan, Amelia Hebert, Oza LaPointe, Eunia Marceaux and Anna LaPointe.
Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of service. A rosary was prayed Monday at 7 p.m.

Lora Lee Guidry
CHURCH POINT – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 4 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Lora Lee Guidry, 78, who died Saturday, April 30, 2005 at the Acadia-St. Landry Hospital.
Father Mikel Polson will officiate for the funeral Mass. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Wednesday at 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary was recited Monday night by Bryne Winn and Deacon Paul Matte will recite a rosary at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include four sons, Mark Guidry of Fairfax, Va., Huge Guidry and wife Deborah of Opelousas, Jeff Guidry and wife Beverly of Gonzales and Mitchell Guidry and wife Denise of Sacramento, Calif.; five daughters, Susan G. White and husband Red of Houston, Linda G. D’Amores and husband Barry of Brusley, Joan G. Winn and husband Glen of Church Point, Carla G. Lyons and husband Roland of Omaha, Neb. and Kay G. Morgan and husband Paul of Broussard; two brothers, Emery and Kenneth Fontenot of Baton Rouge; 20 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Huey Guidry; her parents, Arduse and Celeste Fontenot; one grandson, Marty D’Amores and three brothers, Austin, Calvin and Remi Fontenot.
Mrs. Guidry was owner of Fontenot and Guidry Department Store for 53 years with her husband Huey Guidry. She was a member of the board of directors of the Church Point Bank and Trust Co. for the past 11 years. She was also a member of our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Daughter of America and Eucharistic Minister.
Pallbearers will be Drew, Nick, Seth, Ethan and Blake Guidry and Matthew Lyons. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dalton Guidry and Wyatt Guidry.

Willis G. Foreman
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, at 10 a.m. in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Willis Grady Foreman, 79, who died Friday April 29, 2005 in Lafayette.
Father Rusty Richard will be officiating the Mass of Christian burial and the Ladies Altar society will lead the Rosary at 7 Monday evening.
Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Foreman, Rev. William Whited, James Hayes, Perry St. Raymond, Calvin Pohl, Olivia Pohl and Alfred Orilion.
Mr. Foreman was a native of Indian Bayou and lived in Crowley after his retirement from the Merchant Marines. He loved his country and was proud of his service time, having served during WWII in the United States Navy. He served most of his time on the U.S. Yorktown in the Battle of the Coral Sea and the Battle of Midway. He was a young man of 17 years when his ship was hit and sunk. He was a member of the Harold Bosley Post 6720 of the VFW and also the Crowley American Legion Post 15.
He is survived by his wife Yvonne Foreman, of Crowley, and his sister Elizabeth F. Hayes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alcie and Mary Hoffpauir Foreman; his brothers, Paul, Lafitte, Aaron, Rhuel and Roy Foreman and sisters, Ollie Ronquillo, Edmae Sarver, Etta McCarty, Lelia Moncaux, Daisy Petry and Mabel Dupre.
Visitation will be observed from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until funeral services Tuesday morning.
The family request any donations be made to the Parkinson’s Society.

VINTON – Funeral services will be held Monday, May 2, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Hixson Funeral Home Chapel, 1420 Fancher Street, Vinton, for Geraldine Thompson Guidry, 72, who died Thursday, April 28, 2005 at her residence.
Rev. Gerald Rodrique will officiate for the services. The visitation will be observed Saturday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
Survivors include two sons; Lloyd Joseph Skipper Richard of Vinton, Timothy Scott Richard and his wife Sandy of Vinton; two daughters, Joyce Elizabeth Simoneaux of Sulphur, Patricia Lou Husband and her husband Jack of Bay Town Tx; four sisters, Elnora Fike of Liverpool, NY, Barbara Comeaux of Crowley, Patricia Meaux of Baker and Margie Fontenot of Vinton; one brother, Nathan Thompson of Crowley; 17 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Guidry was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd J. Richard, Sr., one brother, Anthony Thompson of Crowley and one grandson, Brian J. Kibodeaux of Edgerly.
Ms. Guidry was born on February 14, 1933 to Jesse and Dorsena Thompson of the Assembly of God faith. She was a resident of Vinton for 36 years and had been employed by the Vinton News during the early 1970’s.

PARKIN, ARK – Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2005, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Parkin, Arkansas for Cleavie Wright Godeaux, 76, who died Friday, April 29, 2005 in Crowley.

The visitation will be observed Sunday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley with a Rosary at 6 p.m. Visitation will be held in Wynne, Arkansas at the Thompson-Wilson Funeral Home on Monday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. and on Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Parkin, AR from noon until 1 p.m.
Burial will be in Crittendon Memorial Park.
Survivors include two sons; Tony Godeaux and his wife, Gayle of Crowley, Doug Godeaux and his wife Teresa of Egan; two sisters, Opal Whitener of Madison, MS and Doris Pressgrove of Jonesboro, AR; five grandchildren, Lacey, Tyler, Hannah, Austin and Britt Godeaux; one sister-in-law, Lerdie Godeaux and one niece, Chellie Godeaux. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ella Wright; two brothers, Raymond and Dossie Wright; four sisters, Florine Wood, Edith Jones, Elnora Niemeyer and Flossie Westmoreland.
