Mary Ann Abshire
Kibodeaux
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Mary Ann Abshire Kibodeaux, 58, who died Nov. 17, 2005 at her residence.
Rev. Sigmon Richard will be officiating for the services. Visitation may be observed Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Abshire Cemetery in Kaplan.
Mrs. Kibodeaux had been associated with The Welcome House for 19 years. She served as house manager, secretary and co-director. She was also song leader for the Maxie Gospel Tabernacle. She recently earned an associate degree in Christian Ministry and was named valedictorian of her class.
She is survived by her husband of fourteen years, Rev. Roy Kibodeaux of Crowley; one son, Rev. Val Smith of Crowley; two step-daughters, Kathy Duncan of Crowley and Debbie Comeaux of Abita Springs; three step-sons, R.J. and Troy Kibodeaux, both of Crowley and Chet Kibodeaux of Sulphur; three sisters, Lovenia Abshire Daigle of Rayne, Lena Abshire Guillory of Sulphur, and Linda Abshire Villagomez of Youngsville; four brothers, Gardy Abshire of Crowley, Walter Abshire of Abbeville, Wallace Abshire of Sulphur, and Chester Abshire of Rayne; three grandchildren; nineteen step-grandchildren, and seven step-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Kibodeaux was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Smith; her mother, Mary Louise Abshire and one brother, Ernie Abshire.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial contribution to be made to The Welcome House, P.O. Box 1422, Crowley, LA 70527 or Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St. Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.
Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley is in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Reiners
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata for Joseph Reiners, 80, who died Nov. 16, 2005 at his residence.
Fr. George Heffner will be officiating for the services. The rosaries will be recited Friday at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home in Crowley. Visitation will be observed Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
Mr. Reiners is survived by his wife of 56 years, Harriette "Honey" Klein Reiners of Mowata; eight children, Linda R. Swinkey and her husband Joe of Rayne, Doris Ann Reiners of Lafayette, Steve Reiners and his wife Renee’ of Houston, Jude Reiners and his wife Deanna of Mowata, Jim Reiners and his wife Tori of Houston, John Reiners and his wife Nanette of Mowata, Janet R. Hebert and her husband David of Mowata and Karen R. Winfrey and her husband Daniel of Baton Rouge; his son-in-law, Paul Comeaux of Mowata; 19 grandchildren; one sister, Helen Frey of Iota and one brother, Anthony Reiners of Mowata.
He is preceded in death by his daughter, Debra R. Comeaux; his parents, Frank and Marie Thevis Reiners; one brother, Alois Reiners and one sister, Elizabeth Reiners.
Mr. Reiners was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd and 4th Degree, Past Faithful Navigator, helped with the Bishop’s Service Appeal and also received the Bishop’s Medal. He was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church Holy Name Society, Adoration Chapel and served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a member of the Notre Dame High School Athletic Club and was honored to serve as the 1999 Homecoming Parade Grand Marshall. Mr. Reiners participated in the Germanfest, little league baseball and fast pitch softball in Mowata and Roberts Cove.
Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley will be in charge of arrangements.

Martha S. Spell
LAKE CHARLES – Martha S. Spell, 84, of Lake Charles, went to meet her Savior the Lord Jesus Christ on Wednesday, Nov. 16 in a Lake Charles Hospital.
Martha was born in Ridge to George Sellers and Alida Landry Sellers and was a graduate of Judice High School. She and her husband, the late D. H. Spell moved to Lake Charles in 1948. She worked as a school bus driver for the Calcasieu Parish School System for thirty-three years and also worked as a salesperson at T.G. and Y for 20 years.
Martha became a Christian as a young woman and lived her life committed to Christ. She joined Boulevard Baptist Church in 1952 and raised her family in the church. Martha used the last breaths on this earth praising Christ for the peace she knew in his arms.
She is survived by her two sons, Keith Spell of Ft. Worth, Texas and David Spell and his wife Jeanne of Sugarland, Texas; two grandchildren, Michael Spell and Leslie Brooks and her husband Bryan; one great grandson, Jeremy Brooks; three special daughters Pam Hood, Barbara Smith and Rhonda Corbello and many dear friends; two brothers, George Sellers Jr. and Malcolm Sellers, both of Ridge.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 in the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Revs. Bill Billings and Mark Stagg will officiate. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Saturday in the Old Crowley Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until time of services on Saturday.

Tyson V. Lewis
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m. at American Legion Post on Hwy. 90 for Tyson Vanray Lewis, 15, who died Friday, Nov. 11, 2005 at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Rev. Larry Guidry will officiate for the services. Burial will be in West Crowley Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Saturday, Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include his mother, Yolanda Harmon Lewis of Crowley; father, Timmy Lewis of Crowley; three sisters, Tamala Lewis, Michaela Ceasar, both of Crowley and Tymekia Ceasar of Lake Charles; three brothers, Ariel Harmon, Timmy Harmon and Trevvor Lewis, all of Crowley; grandparents, Jessie Harmon Jr. of Crowley, Shirley Harmon of Houston and Levy and Debra Johnson Jr. of Crowley.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Owens-Thomas Funeral Home of Crowley.

CHURCH POINT – Clementine S. Guillory, 87, died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 at Acadia St. Landry Hospital in Church Point. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 19 at Our Mother of Mercy Church in Church Point. Burial will be in church cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point.

Rena M. Breaux
MERMENTAU – Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church for Rena Mae Breaux, 72, who died Monday, Nov. 14, 2005 at the Jeff Davis Living Center.
Rev. Donald Pousson will officiate for the services. Burial will be in church cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Breaux and his wife Carrie of Sutherland, NE; Terry Breaux and his wife, Rosemary of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; one daughter, Wanda Faye Bonnie and her husband, Don of Mermentau; one sister, Blanche Weekly of Mermentau Cove; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Breaux was a native and resident of Mermentau. She was a member of the Ladies Alter Society. She loved people, arts and crafts and sewing.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.

Rosalie A. Trahan
JENNINGS – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church for Rosalie Anding Trahan, 69, who died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005 at her residence after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Rev. Nicky Trahan will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary was recited Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home chapel.
Survivors include her husband, J.C. Trahan of Jennings; one daughter, Deborah Havard and husband Lesley of Jennings; two sons, Michael Trahan and wife Jessica of Jennings and Brian Trahan and wife Bridget of Lake Charles; one sister, Yvonne A. Stackhouse of Jennings; five grandchildren, Chance Trahan, Keeley Trahan, Blake Trahan, Hannah Trahan, and Angel Miller and three great grandchildren, Ashley Miller, Allison, Miller and Alexi Fontenot.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Rosalie Patridge Anding and one grandson, Lesley Ray Havard Jr.
She was a lifelong resident of the Jennings/Roanoke area and a graduate of Jennings High School. She attended the School of Nursing in Mobile, Ala. and was a retired Licensed Practical Nurse having worked in the Mobil Infirmary Memorial Hospital in Jennings. She sang in the choir at both the Jennings United Methodist Church and Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church. She was also a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Catholic Church.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Miguez Funeral Home of Jennings.

Corlis F. Bernard
LAFAYETTE – Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 17, at 11 a.m. at Notre Dame Catholic Church in St. Martinville for Corlis Faith Bernard, 51, who died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005 at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Father Thomas Mullally will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Queen of Peace Cemetery in St. Martinville. Visiting hours will be observed Thursday from 7 a.m. until service time.
Survivors include her husband, David Bernard of St. Martinville; two sons, Shaylor and Jeremy Bernard both of St. Martinville; one daughter, Crystal Bernard of St. Martinville; two brothers, Gordon and L.V. Blunt both of Crowley; one sister, Odaree’ Blunt of Michigan; one grandson and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Bernard was preceded in death by her son, David Bernard Jr.; and parents, Levester and Jessie Smith Blunt.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kinchen Funeral Home of Lafayette.

Kenneth T. Schexnider
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 3 p.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church for Kenneth Thomas Schexnider, 66, who died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2005.
Father Gary Schexnayder will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Virginia Blanchard Schexnider, of Estherwood; one son, Shane Schexnider of Estherwood; one grandson, Garett Schexnider of Lafayette; one sister, Marie "Tut" LeBlanc of Estherwood; and one brother Irvin "Bud" Schexnider of Estherwood.
Mr. Schexnider is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Hazel Menard Schexnider.
He was an auto parts salesman for over forty years in Crowley.

Allen T. Boudreaux
RAYNE – Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 at a Mass of Christian burial in St. Joseph Catholic Church for Allen Thomas Boudreaux, 70, who died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005 at his residence.
Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery #2 Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Survivors include four daughters, Yvette Holloway and husband Tommy, Michele Boudreaux, Brenda Daigle, Rachel Boudreaux, all of Rayne; one son, Brian Boudreaux and wife Gina of Youngsville; five sisters, Thelma Lanclos of Leonville, Dorothy Istre of Rayne, Mary Foreman of Rayne, Gloria DeRoussell of Lake Charles, Florina Hollier of Leonville; two brothers, Gilford Boudreaux of Burleson, Texas and Phillip Boudreaux Jr., of Fort Worth, Texas; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, Phillip Boudreaux Sr. and Isaure Simon Boudreaux; two brothers, Chester Emark Boudreaux and Chester James Boudreaux; one son-in-law, Perry Daigle and one great grandchild, Parker Daigle.

Leah A. Abshire
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Lyons Point for Leah Bertha Avant Abshire, 86, who died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 at 11:10 a.m. at Kaplan Health Care.
Fr. Donald Pousson, pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, will officiate for the services. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Church Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to service time. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald "Dago" Abshire Sr. of Kaplan; one daughter, Gloria A. Beasley and her husband Bill of Ferriday; three sons, Douglas J. Abshire and his wife Effie of Kaplan, Carlton Abshire and his wife Mae Dell of Kaplan and Gerald Abshire Jr. and his wife Gail of Lafayette; three sisters, Maude A. Duhon of Rayne, Clara A. Cormier of Carencro and Bradley A. Connor of Lake Charles; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Mrs. Abshire was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Clothile David Avant; one brother, Grady Avant Jr. and one granddaughter, Aline Abshire Hoffpauir.
She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society.
The family would like to express their thanks to Hospice of Acadiana and Kaplan Home Care.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Abshire, Billy Beasley, Kirk Hoffpauir, Gene Cormier, Terry Duhon and Grady Dale Connor.

Jamie J. Simar
JENNINGS – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. at St. Jules Catholic Church for Jamie Joseph Simar, 30, who died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005.
Rev. Mike Guidry and Rev. Ted Broussard will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Klumpp Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include his father, James “Donnie” Simar; his mother, Sandra Klumpp Simar, both of Evangeline; paternal grandmother, Mary Simar of Evangeline; three sisters, Jeleana Simar of Evangeline, Jennifer Simar Lavergne and her husband Ray of Duson and Felicia Simar Buch and her husband Kirk of Jennings; godparents, Cary Mark Benoit of Evangeline and Lovie Henderson of New Caney, Texas; special godchild, Chase Benoit of Evangeline and his fiancee, Renee McFarlain and her two children, Kaden and Caraline McFarlain of Iota.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Effie Klumpp, Roman Klumpp, John Simar and his aunt, Audrey “Jo-Jo” Young.
He was a native of Jennings and a resident of Evangeline. He loved riding his motorcycle, hanging out with his friends, the outdoors, camping and spending time with his family. He was also an avid hunter.
Pallbearers will be Mark Benoit, Chase Benoit, Ray Lavergne, Kirk Buch, Justin LeJeune and Justin Tramel.
Honorary pallbearers will be Kerry Buch, Kainen Buch, Bill Strong, Dean Simar, Michael Dean Klumpp, Shane Trahan and Ashley Trahan.

Ruby Dupre
EUNICE – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church for Ruby Dupre, 71, who died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005 in Crowley
Father Eugene Tremie will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Felix Dupre of Eunice; one son, Craig Dupre of Lafayette; three daughters, Judy Capel and husband Hank of Crowley, Phyllis LeJeune and husband David of Iota and Charlene Johnson and husband Michael of Eunice; two sisters, Nell Cormier of Ragley, Priscilla Treme of Lake Charles; one half-sister, Trudy Wilson of Orange, Texas; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Dupre was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Idell Treme.

CHURCH POINT – Sybil Daigle Daugereaux, 92, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005 at Doctors Hospital in Opelousas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Guidry Funeral Home of Church Point.
