Meaux
CROWLEY Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006
at 1 p.m. Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Melba Kober Meaux,
100, who died Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Magnolia Estates Nursing
Home in Lafayette. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery Mausoleum
in Crowley.
Visitation will be observed from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday.
Mrs. Meaux is survived by two sons, Conrad Meaux and his wife, Lenora,
of Lafayette; and Bobby Meaux and his wife, Maria, of Metairie; three
grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Bernard "B.C." Meaux;
four brothers and two sisters.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Acadiana,
2600 Johnston St., Suite 200, Lafayette, LA 70503.

Hanks
RAYNE Rayne - Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday,
September 4, 2006 at a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Catholic
Church for Ouida Marie Leon Hanks, 82, who died Friday, September 1,
2006 at her residence in Crowley.
Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery #2.
Survivors include three daughters, Evelyn Vincent and her husband, Calvin
of Crowley; Jacalyn Myers and her husband, Ronnie of Crowley; Darlene
Hanks and her fiancé, Gilbert Garza of Crowley; nine grandchildren,
Bridget Cormier and her companion, Wilbert Istre; Donna Hanks and her
husband, C.J.; Ramona Vincent, Emilie Thibodeaux and her husband, Toby;
Philip Myers and his wife, Jessica; Paige Myers, Kisha Bruner and her
husband, Jesse; Christopher Kelehan and Tara Kelehan; nine great grandchildren,
Taylor Myers, Harlie Thibodeaux, Trevor Trimble, Myra Hanks, Maddox
Hanks, Bradley Cormier, Devon Valdiviez, Kaylie Myers and Emma Myers;
two brothers, David Leon and his wife, Hazel Spell Leon, of El Paso,
Texas; and Dennis Leon, of Port Arthur, Texas; and one sister, Cora
Roberts, of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emile Hanks; her parents,
Louis Leon and Marie Hernandez Leon; three grandchildren, Mona Vincent,
Bryson Thibodaux and Derek Kelehan, Jr.; six brothers, Oran "Tit"
Leon, Lawrence "Toot" Leon, Wallace Leon, Wilton Leon, Voorhies
Leon and Louis Leon, Jr.; and one sister, Mrs. Vincent "Yolande
Leon" Blanchard.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
The family requested that the visiting hours be Sunday from 10 a.m.
until 10 p.m and Monday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Pallbearers will be Taylor Myers, Christopher Kelehan, C.J. Hanks, Toby
Thibodeaux, Philip Myers and Jesse Bruner.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Gossen Funeral Home Inc. of Rayne.

Lapoint
JENNINGS Audrey Marie Bergeaux Lapoint, 57, passed away Sunday,
August 27, 2006 in Jeff Davis Living Center. She was there for 20 days.
She was a Catholic.
She was born November 19, 1948 to Alfred Fred Bergeaux and
Burcy Marie Miller from Petit Mamou. She went to school in Iota and
Sulphur. She attended Lamar University. She traveled and worked as a
personal care giver.
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Bergeaux and her brother,
Robert Lee T-Boy Bergeaux.
Survivors include her daughter, Christine Gilfour; her son, Michael
Lapoint of West Lake; three grandchildren, Magan and Lauren Adams and
Glen Michael Lapoint; her mother, Mrs. Burcy Bergeaux of Petit Mamou;
her sisters, Mrs. Ervin (Della) Lantz of Sulphur; Mrs. Bud (Eva) Breaux
of Sulphur; Mrs. Bud (Jeanette) Hearod of Petit Mamou; Mrs. Joe (Shirley)
Granger of Petit Mamou; and Mrs. Belin (Judy) Landry Sr. of Petit Mamou.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 11 a.m. She was
buried in the Green Wood Cemetery in Jennings.

EVANGELINE- Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 4, 2006
at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel of Jennings, for Mabel Marguerite
Stout Aycock, 79, who died Friday, September 1, 2006 at her daughters
residence.
Interment will be in the Calvary Mausoleum in Jennings.
The Rev. Ernest Toepfer and the Rev. Don Gott will conduct the service.
Mrs. Aycock was a native of Delhi and a resident of Evangeline. She
was a member of the Eastern Star, active in her church and she loved
to paint.
Survivors include two sons, Glenn Aycock and his wife, Cecelia of Baytown,
Texas; Don Aycock and his wife, Carla of Palatka, Fla.; one daughter,
Linda LeJeune and her husband, Frederick of Iota; one brother, Herman
Stout and his wife, Patsy of Ft. Smith, Ark.; one sister, Irma Bradberry
and her husband, Claude of McComb, Miss.; two sister-in-laws, Estelle
Stout of Lafayette and Marion Stout of West Monroe; seven grandchildren,
five great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Annie Bright Stout;
her husband, Dewey Aycock; two brothers, Harold and Richard Stout; one
sister, Wilma Hall; and one brother-in-law, E. D. Hall.
The family has requested that visitation begin Sunday 10:30 a.m. until
10 p.m. and continue Monday 8 a.m. until time of service.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Aycocks grandsons.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews and Son Funeral Home of
Jennings.

Johnny Mattox
CROWLEY Funeral services for Mr. John "Johnny" H. Mattox,
73, of Crowley, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, September 4, 2006 at
First Baptist Church in Crowley with the Reverend Roger Tarver, pastor,
and The Reverend Chris Campo, officiating. Mr. Mattox died Saturday,
at his residence in Crowley. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be observed from 1:30 p.m until 9 p.m. Sunday at Geesey-Ferguson
Funeral Home and again on Monday from 9 a.m. until service time at the
church.
Mr. Mattox is survived by his wife of 51 years, Margie Watters Mattox;
two daughters, Pamela Mattox of Iota and Mrs. Chester (Linda) Guidry
of Crowley; a son, Don Mattox of Crowley; a sister, Mrs. Henry (Marteal)
Smith; and two half sisters, Shirley Cook and Mrs. Carlton (Judy) Williamson,
all of Sarepta; three grandchildren, Ryan and Kyle Guidry, both of Crowley,
and Katie Mattox of Iota.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George A. and Katie Henderson
Mattox and a sister, Velma Mattox Smith.
Mr. Mattox retired after 30 years of service with Exxon Corporation
as a mechanical supervisor and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean
Conflict.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Louisiana
and First Baptist Church of Crowley.

Philip Belaire Jr., 77, died Saturday, September 1, 2006
at Meadow Brook Healthcare in Lafayette. Funeral services will be held
at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 2006 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial
will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 under the direction of Duhon Funeral
Home.

1, 2006 at Iberia Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10
a.m. Monday, September 4 at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel of
Lake Arthur. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery under the direction
of Matthews and Son Funeral Home.
