Chiasson
CROWLEY Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, February
10, 2006 at Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings for Clifford Chiasson,
32, who died Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at his residence.
Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Chiasson was a native of Jennings and a resident of Crowley.
Survivors include one daughter, Shelby Morgan Chiasson of Iota; his
mother, Olida Marie Istre of Crowley; one sister, Leah Suzette Chiasson
of Crowley; his maternal grandmother, Leah Meyers of Crowley; two nieces,
Kassie and Kya Chiasson and one nephew, Elijah Chiasson.
The family has requested that visitation begin Friday at 11:30 a.m.
until time of services. Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews

Perry
CROWLEY Private graveside services for family and friends will
be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 11, Woodlawn Cemetery for Mabel
Glades Perry, 95, who died Saturday, February 4, 2006 in Fort Worth,
Texas.
Survivors include two daughters, Jewell Putnam of Hurst, Texas and Dee
Lindsey, of Reo Rancho, N.M.; two sons, Calvin Perry of Grand Prarie,
Texas and Ronnier Perry of Campo, Texas; 23 grandchildren, 47 great
grandchildren, 10 great great grand children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell C. Perry; two sons,
Wiley and Rupert Perry.
Mrs. Perry is a native of Crowley and a resident of Texas.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Duhon Funeral Home.

POINT Shane Matte, 36, died Sunday, February 5, 2006 at
Opelousas General Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 1
p.m. Tuesday, February 7 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church. Burial
will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Guidry Funeral
Home.

POINT Wilda Maher Smith, 72, died Saturday, February 4,
2006 at Lafayette General Hospital. Funeral services will be held at
10 a.m. Tuesday, February 7 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic
Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of

Hebert
BASILE Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 7, at
11 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church for Loyce Hebert, 72, who died
Sunday, February 5, 2006 at the American Legion Hospital in Jennings.
Father Aubrey Guilbeau will officiate for the services. Burial will
be in Reed Cemetery in Te-Mamou. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday
from 8 a.m. until service time. A rosary was recited Monday at 7 p.m.
at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Dudley Hebert Sr. of Basile; one son,
James Dudley Hebert Jr. and wife, Diana of Basile; one daughter, Melissa
Guilbeau of Basile; four brothers, Gilbert Bergeaux of Basile; Carol
Dupre of Eunice; Aubrey Andrepont of Eunice and Aaron Andrepont of Sulphur;
three sisters, Iris Miller of Eunice; Barbara Hebert of Jennings; and
Lois Fontenot of Port Arthur, Texas; five grandchildren, Troy Hebert,
Dana Crochet, April Reed, Mike Guilbeau and Nick Guilbeau; and six great
grandchildren.
Mrs. Hebert was a retired nurses assistant and lived in the Te-Mamou
community.

Bell Klumpp
BASILE Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 8, at
11 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church for Belva Bell
Klumpp, 82, who died Sunday, February 5, 2006 at his residence.
Father Ken Domingue will officiate for the services. Burial will be
in St. Joseph Cemetery in Iota. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday
from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. and continue Wednesday from 8 a.m. until service
time. A rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Felix Klumpp of Tepetate; two dons, Roger
Klumpp and wife, Beverly of Tepetate; and Ronnie Klumpp and wife, Candace
of Tepetate; one sister, Hazel Ardoin of Basile; four grandchildren,
Marshall Klumpp and wife, Angie; Mitchell Klumpp and wife, Jenny; Amy
Miller and husband, Eric all of tepetate; and Allison Welch and husband,
Keith of Oakdale; eight great grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren.

CROWLEY A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, Feb.
7, 2006 at 2 p.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church for Gilbert
Joseph Hanks, 66, who died Sunday, February 5, 2006 in Crowley.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church,
will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Kie Hebert Cemetery.
The family requests visiting hours be observed Tuesday from 8 a.m. to
service time. A rosary was recited at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral
home.
Survivors include two sons, Gilbert R. "Bert" Hanks of Crowley
and Stephen Kirk Hanks of Los Angeles, Calif.; one sister, Cecile H.
Spallino of Crowley; one brother, James Allen Mouton of Crowley; numerous
nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hanks was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Clara Mouton
Hanks.

CROWLEY Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2006
at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel of Jennings for Leroy Joseph
Crochet, 69, who died Friday, February 3, 2006 at his residence. Interment
will be in Bertrand Cemetery. The Rev. P. J. Romero will conduct the
services.
Mr. Crochet was a native of Jennings and resident of Crowley. He loved
to play music, play bingo and drawing.
Survivors include two sons, Rickey D. Crochet and his wife Odelia and
Albert R. Crochet both of Crowley; two daughters, Mona L. Vidrine and
her husband, Jimmy and Lisa M. Crochet and her fiance Patrick
Primeaux both of Crowley; one half brother, Roland Crochet of Welsh;
two half sisters, Linda Cormier of Rayne and Magloria Sonnier of Andrus
Cove; six grandchildren, Kimberly, Michael, Aaron, Kenneth Paul and
Tommy Crochet and Matthew Vidrine.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maloria and Estelle LeBlanc
Crochet.

6, 2006 at Acadia St. Landry Hospital. Funeral services will be held

Roger James Hebert, 36, died Tuesday, January 31, 2006
at his residence. Funeral services and burial will be held at 3 p.m.
Thursday, January 2 at the Old Crowley Cemetery under the direction
of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home.

IOTA Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, February
3, 2006, in Saint Joseph Catholic Church of Iota for Verna Thibodeaux
Leger, 74, who died Wednesday, February 01, 2006 in Jennings.
Fr. Michael Polson, Pastor of Saint Joseph Catholic Church, will celebrate
the Mass of Christian Burial and the final prayers at Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Friday
from 8 a.m. until service time. The rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m.
Thursday.
Mrs. Leger is survived by one son, Roger Thibodeaux and his wife, Nelda
of Iota; three daughters, Brenda Hebert and her husband; Norman of Kinder;
Lori Steward and her husband, Olin of Bossier City; and Sarah Clanton
of Columbia; one brother, Clarence Thibodeaux of Parks; two sisters,
Suzanne Blanchard of Parks; and Lavina Andrus of Covington; eleven grandchildren
and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Leger; her parents,
Conrad and Enerenthe Hebert Thibodeaux; one sister, Vinet Melancon;
and two brothers, Ignace and Ernest Thibodeaux.

Richard
CROWLEY Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, February
3, 2006 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for Felice Broussard
Richard, 91, who died at her residence Tuesday morning.
Co-celebrants for the Mass of Christian Burial will be her two great-nephews,
Fr. Ken Broussard and Fr. Ted Broussard. They will also do the final
prayers at Woodlawn Cemetery. The Rosary will be prayed by Sr. Justine
Baker, Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will be from 2 p.m.
until 9 p.m. Thursday and on Friday from 8 a.m. until time of service.
Mrs. Richard was a longtime member of Immaculate Heart of Mary, a charter
member of the Ladies Altar Society, a charter member of Come Lord Jesus
group, We Believe, a member of the Church Choir and was
involved in many other church activities and service work.
She is survived by one brother, Joseph M. Broussard and his wife, Marie
of Lafayette; her caretakers, Susan and Chuck Sebetto; numerous nieces,
nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great nieces and great-great
nephews and her grand dog, Midway.
Mrs. Richard was preceded in death by her parents, Mozard and Azelima
Mire Broussard; her husband, Charlie Richard, two brothers; Frank and
Advy Broussard; two sisters, Lucille B. Schexnider and Jane B. Mire;
two half-sisters, Ella B. Schexnider and Emella B. Villejoin.

JENNINGS Funeral services for Marjorie "Margie" Klumpp
Gautreaux, 51, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2006 in the
St. Michael Catholic Church with Rev. Gary Schexnyder officiating. Mrs.
Gautreaux died Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at her residence in Crowley.
Burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery under direction of Miguez Funeral
Home of Jennings.Funeral home visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until
10 p.m., Thursday and continue Friday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel.
Survivors include four daughters, Carlotta Oliver of Jennings; Amanda
Gautreaux of Jennings; Darlene Gautreaux of Crowley; and Mrs. Bradley
(Kelly) Mangrum of Lafayette; one son, Kurt J. and his wife, Krystal
Gautreaux of Mermentau; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Carl and
Jane Sonnier of Crowley; her companion, Ralph Habetz of Crowley; two
sisters, Audrey and husband, Melton "Bruce" Broussard of Welsh;
and Mrs. Melvin (Darlene) Ardoin of Monroe; four brothers, Nelson and
wife, Rose Benoit of Baytown, Texas; R.C. Klumpp of Egan; Rammey Klumpp
of Sulphur; and Calvin Klumpp of Crowley;five grandchildren, Brittany

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Mabel Abshire Klumpp;
her husband, Robert Gautreaux and one granddaughter, Leighanne "LeeLee"
Mangrum.
She was a lifelong resident of Crowley, a homemaker and a member of
St. Michael Catholic Church in Crowley.

JENNINGS Funeral services will be held Friday, February 3, at
2 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Mermentau for Percy
Lee Paul Kibodeaux, 74 who died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at the Jennings
American Legion Hospital.
Rev. Val will officiate for the services. Burial will be in Mermentau
Cemetery. Visiting hours will be observed Thursday from 2:30 until service
time. A rosary will be recited Thursday at 2:30 at the funeral home.
Mr. Kibodeaux was a native and resident of Mermentau. He served in the
Army. He loved the outdoors and he loved to joke.
Survivors include one son, Adam Kibodeaux of Mermentau; three daughters,
Brenda Shuff and her husband, Terry of Mermentau; Carolyn Vincent and
her husband, Alvin of Mermentau; and Catherine LaSage and her husband,
Ronald of Carlyss; one brother, Leroy Kibodeaux of National City, Calif.;
one sister, Bernice Kibodeaux of Jennings; ten grandchildren and ten
great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Emila Broussard
Kibodeaux; his wife, Rida Gautreaux; one daughter, Marilyn Kibodeaux;
three brother, Clifton, Wilford and Hillias Kibodeaux; five sisters,
Rosebell Kibodeaux, Juanita Istre, Ethel Louise Smith, Helen Schexnayder
and Florence Parker.

CROWLEY Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1,
2006 at 11 a.m. in the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Angela
Maria Garcia, 38, who died Sunday, January 29, in New Iberia.
Pastor Loyd Singley of Northside Assembly of God, will conduct the Funeral
Services and the graveside service at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation
will be held Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 8
a.m. until time of services.
Mrs. Garcia is survived by two daughters, Tabatha and Sarah Garcia,
both of Houston, Texas; her mother, Lorena Garcia of Mire; her father,
Frank Garcia of Houston; one brother, Robert Fontenot of Lafayette;
and one sister, Candance Corborne of Rayne.
She was preceded in death by one brother, John Fontenot and one sister,
Alicia Calderone.

Lois
Magee
TRINITY, Texas Services for Lois Marie DeWalt Magee, 84, who
passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2006, were held on Tuesday, january
24 at 10 a.m. in the Trinity Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. James L.
White, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church, Rev. Robbie Bailey,
Pastor of the Friday Baptist Church and Rev. Everett McCollum will be
officiating. Burial followed in the Thornton Cemetery in Trinity.
Lois, the daughter of the late peal Francis Tullos and Lucian Clegg
DeWalt, was born on February 26, 1921 in Glendale, Texas, Trinity County.
Mrs. Magee was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Jack C.
Magee, her beloved son, Charles Edward Magee and two brothers, Maurice
DeWalt and Coyle DeWalt.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Kolleda Magee Hebert and son-in-law,
Gerald Hebert of Jupiter, Fla. Her grandson, Geremy Delain Hebert, also
of Jupiter; her granddaughter, Kristina Hebert Cunningham; her grandson-in-law,
Sean Cunningham; and great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Marie Cunningham of
Hixson, Tenn; her brother Harold Edward deWalt and wife, Helen of Trinity,
Texas; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Coyle DeWalt (Mary), of Huntsville, Texas;
twelve nieces and nephews and a host of friends also survive her.
Lois and Jack lived in Crowley for over 30 years before relocating to
their hometown, Trinity in 1990. While living in Crowley, Lois served
as Chairman of the Cleanest City project, which won several awards.
She was a member and Past President of the Crowley Garden Club and won
many ribbons for her floral arrangements. On February 27, 1990, Lois
was crowned Queen of the Crowley Town CLub Mardi Gras Ball, whose theme
was Land of the Rising Sun. She was a member and Vice-President of the
Crowley Town Club Board of Directors. Lois was a 25-year member of the
Crowley VFW Post 6720. Lois was a member of the American Legion Ladies
Auxiliary, a member of the Crowley Fire and Police Civil Service board
and a member of the College List Board.
After moving to Trinity, Lois was a lifetime member of the Trinity Memorial
VFW Post 6899 Ladies Auxiliary, where she served as president in 1996-1998
and 2001-2002. She was also Legislative and Pac chairman. Lois was a
member of First United Methodist Church of Trinity. She was active member
of The Trinity County Historical Commission. Lois was a member of the
Historical Society.
She was initiated into the Crowley Chapter Order and a member of the
Trinity Chapter 186 Order of the Eastern Star for a total of 40 years.
She was a member and Trustee of the Thornton Cemetery board. She was
a Past President of the Chalk Cemetery Association.
Pall bearers were members of the Trinity Memorial VFW Post 6899 Honor
Guard and honorary pall bearers were members of the Memorial VFW Post
6899 Ladies Auxiliary.
Trinity Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
