Bernard Frederick Zaunbrecher
Funeral services will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, Aug. 13, at 2 p.m. for Bernard Frederick Zaunbrecher, 90, who died Sunday, Aug. 10.
Interment will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2 in Rayne.
Surviving are one sister, Patricia Zaunbrecher of Rayne; three nephews, Karl Bailey of Lafayette, David Bailey of Natchitoches and Wallace Ousse of Frederick, Maryland; four nieces, Barbara Carpenter Miller of Rayne, Kathleen Bailey Burk of Shreveport, Helena Ousse Long of Kenner and Anne Ousse of Kaplan; five great-nieces, Teresa Bailey Day of Baton Rouge, Brianna Bailey Megee of Natchitoches, Elizabeth Long Cormier of Lafayette, Stacy M. Miller of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jennifer Ousse Seye of Baltimore, Maryland; three great-nephews, Joseph Long of Kenner, Ryan L. Miller of Bellvue, Nebraska, and Christopher Ousse of Frederick, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl Zaunbrecher Sr. and Helena Frey Zaunbrecher; five sisters, Stephanie Zaunbrecher, Theresa Z. Bailey, Eleanor Z. Ousse, Julia Zaunbrecher and Louise Zaunbrecher Carpenter; four brothers, John Zaunbrecher, Karl Zaunbrecher Jr., Hubert Zaunbrecher and Thomas Philip Zaubrecher; and one great-nephew, David Karl Burk.
Mr. Zaunbrecher proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II.
Friends will be received Wednesday, Aug. 13, from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., in Rayne. A Rosary will be recited at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Ousse Jr., Nick Hundley, Ralph Frey, Billy Arceaneaux, Joseph Long and Ryan Miller.
