Carol Hanagriff Wells
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Carol Hanagriff Wells, 74, who died May 1, 2014 at Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Deacon Rodless Leleux will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Sunday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday. Interment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Carol was a lifelong resident of Crowley. She was a teacher in Acadia Parish for 28 years; she taught at Ross and Morse Elementary. After retiring from Acadia Parish School Board she taught at Redemptorist Catholic School for 8 years. Carol was a charter member of the La Beta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa; an international honorary organization of women educators dedicated to educational excellence, altruism, and world understanding. She was initiated on December 13, 1979.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry O. Wells of Crowley; one daughter, Shari W. Tavera of Austin, Texas; one son, Josh O. Wells of Crowley; one brother, Rodney P. Hanagriff of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren, Karder James, Nancy Gray, and Nicholas Gray; and one great-grandchild, Gael Tavera.
Carol is preceded in death by her father, V.P. Hanagriff, Sr.; her mother, Mabel T. Fuselier; one brother, V.P. Hanagriff, Jr.; and one great-grandchild, Gylen Jude Gray.
