Donald Ray “Moe” Broussard
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home chapel for Donald Ray “Moe” Broussard, 76, who died at 1:15 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2014, at his residence in Iota.
Rev. Gary Koopmann, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Jennings, will conduct the services and the burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Monday from 3 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Moe was born April 30, 1938, in Midland. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He worked in the oilfield for most of his life as a tool pusher. He owned and operated Moe’s Bar for 15-plus years. He loved to cook and spend time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dail Arceneaux Broussard of Iota; three daughters, Lisa Bailey and her husband Joe of Crowley, Tammy Lejeune and her husband Jerry of Thibodaux and Kim LaBeau and her husband Michael of Gulfport, Mississippi; a sister, Dorothy Wattenbarger of Iota; seven grandchildren, Casey Cuccio, Austin Bailey, Joseph Bailey, Hayden Lejeune, Anna Lejeune, Ethan LaBeau and Isabelle LaBeau; and three great-grandchildren, Tanner, Bryson and Camden Cuccio.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Broussard and Ida Leckelt Reed; his son, Darren Broussard; and his brother, Duke Trahan.
