Harold James Letz
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home for Harold James Letz Sr., 87, who died Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at 4:01 p.m. at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
Mr. Letz is a native and lifelong resident of Crowley. He and his brother, Paul, worked together for many years as civil engineers and land surveyors in South Louisiana. He was a veteran of World War II, having served his country in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theater.
Rev. David Green, pastor of First Lutheran Church, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to service time. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Letz is survived by one daughter, Carol L. Stanford of Alexandria; two sons, Harold J. Letz Jr. of Crowley and John K. Letz and wife Elizabeth of Medford, Oregon; and two grandchildren, Ian Stanford of Washington, D.C., and Jason Stanford and wife Claire of Arlington, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine Allen Letz; one daughter, Sharon Letz; his parents, Paul and Emma Look Letz; and one brother, Walter Letz.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to First Lutheran Church, 121 W. Eighth St., Crowley, LA 70526, or a charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Letz.
