Shelby Daniel Truax
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael Catholic Church, Egan for Shelby Daniel Truax, 92, who died Friday, November 8, 2013 at 4:30 a.m. in Egan.
Mr. Truax was a native and lifelong resident of Egan. He retired from Conoco in Egan as a Shift Foreman after 30 years of service. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Egan.
Fr. Jude Thierry, Pastor of St. Michael, will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Mr. Truax is survived by his wife of seventy years, Audrey Stanford Truax of Egan; three daughters, Glynda Truax Thevis and her husband Mike of Orange, TX, Geralyn Truax Pousson and her husband John of Covington, Debbie Truax Hebert and her husband Cecil of Egan; one son, Roderick Stanford “Ricky” Truax and his wife Mary Jo of Sulphur; one sister, Pansy T. LeJeune of Egan; 14 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 9 great great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Shelby Jean Truax; his parents, Charles and Julie Anne Regan Truax; 2 great-grandsons, Jacob Craig Zaunbrecher and Rustin Roy Cassedy; grandson-in-law, Stephen C. Voitier; one brother, Willis Charles “Bill” Truax.
Pallbearers will be Craig Zaunbrecher, Bradley Zaunbrecher, Chad Thevis, Danny Thevis, Ricky Truax, II, Chris Pousson, Coby Hebert and Andrew Hebert.
