THOMAS BERYL GRAY
A memorial service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at First Presbyterian Church in Crowley for Thomas Beryl Gray, who died Tuesday, March 25, 2014. Visitation will begin at the church at 10 a.m. and will continue until the time of service.
A native and lifelong resident of Crowley, Tommy was born Oct. 28, 1928. He graduated from Crowley High School and attended LSU, after which he began his chosen career in farming. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He was a kind and a gentle man who led a simple life and treasured many lifetime friendships.
Tommy was a member of the First Christian Church, where he was the organist for over 50 years.
Tommy is survived by his four children: Claudia and husband Gardner Thornton of Houston; Lance Page and wife Judy; Thomas Clark and wife Suzanne; Gretchen and husband Jude Ohlenforst; nine grandchildren: Thomas Andrew Thornton and wife Kelly, Gray Gardner Thornton and Madelyn Page Thornton, all of Houston; Taylor Clark Gray and wife Aylie, Thomas Alexander Gray and wife Melissa, and Page Elizabeth Gray; John Thomas Ohlenforst and wife Brittany, William Louis Ohlenforst and Page Burns Gray; and four great-grandchildren: Amelia Gray, Ellis Gray, Helena Gray and Henry Thomas Gray, with two more on the way.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lyn McBride Gray; his parents, William Page and Mattie Clark Gray; his brother, William E. Gray; and his sister, Marguerite Gray Harmon.
