October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Along with the changing of the seasons, October also brings National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Breast cancer is a health problem that all women, and some men, are at risk. It is a serious condition that women need to watch for and perform monthly self breast exams.
One in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime.
Louisiana has a higher than average mortality rate for breast cancer and the second lowest mammography screening utilization in the nation.
