Arnaudville – Funeral services were held Monday, March 24, 2008, at a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church for Omer Arnaud, 78, who passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at 2:10 p.m. at his residence in Arnaudville.
Interment was in St. Francis Regis Cemetery. The Rev. Keenan Brown, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, officiated at the services.
Musical selections were provided by Debbie Richard, accompanied by Phyllis Simar on the organ. The songs were Amazing Grace, The Old Rugged Cross, How Great Thou Art, and Battle Hymn of the Republic.
Mr. Arnaud was a native and lifelong resident of Arnaudville. He was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Church.
Survivors include three sisters, Martha Stelly, Inez Rebecca Arnaud and Mary Kardorff and her husband Roderic, all of Arnaudville; nieces and nephews, Russell Stelly, Jackie Stelly, Theresa K. Dailey, Archie Kardorff, Roderic Kardorff and Konrad Kardorff; and a host of great-nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jean Cantwell Arnaud and the former Marie Cornelia Taylor, both natives of Arnaudville; and two brothers, Laurel Arnaud and Archie Arnaud.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
