Ongoing cases keep Sheriff’s office busy

ACADIA PARISH - Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon stated that his office is investigating the following incidents:

- 4 wheelers tearing up property on a private roadway near Morse.

- Detectives are investigating the burglary of a residence on Bayou Mallet near Eunice.

- Detectives are investigating the burglary of a residence near Rayne.

- Narcotics Agents are investigating a case involving cultivation of marijuana near Crowley.

- Deputies investigated a single vehicle accident that occurred on Harmon Rd. S. of Hwy 98. No injuries were reported.

- Evangeline Fire Department was dispatched to a field fire near Julian and Gottes Cove Rd.

- Detectives are investigating the burglary of a residence on Phillips Rd near Rayne.

- Detectives are investigating the burglary of a residence on White Oak Hwy near Branch.

Sheriff Melancon is asking everyone to contact his office if you witness anything suspicious anywhere in the parish. Anyone with information on any of these incidents is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 788-8700 or 789-TIPS.
